| Race 1 | Hautapu Veterinary Services Sprint - C1 - 375 | WHO ROCKS (5) ran inwards from the start crowding CORUBA CATE (4). CORUBA CATE ran outwards across heels soon after colliding with OPAWA BINGE (6) which in turn bumped with COOKIE MONSTER (7). OPAWA BINGE and COOKIE MONSTER jostled through the early stages, with OPAWA BINGE becoming unbalanced. OPAWA UNO (3) ran inwards approaching the bend crowding LORD DE AIR (1) which lost ground. COOKIE MONSTER improved up onto the heels of LORD DE AIR rounding the bend, losing momentum. OPAWA BINGE was examined by the veterinarian following the event and cleared of injury. |
| Race 2 | Affordable Pet Accessories Sprint - C3 - 375 | UP HIGH (3) and BAYMAX (4) came together leaving the boxes. EZ FERETTI (1) was tightened entering the bend when to the inside of FORTIS FLIER (2) which was forced inwards by UP HIGH. EZ FERETTI collided with BAYMAX soon after resulting in CALAMITY FREE (6) and VERY CHILLY (7) being forced wider on the track. |
| Race 3 | The Clubhouse Sports Bar Stakes Series Heat 1 - C1q - 457 Heat 1 | CAWBOURNE KIN (3) was last to jump. CAWBOURNE KIN was then inclined to run outwards through the early stages colliding with THRILLING RIOT (8) on several occasions. CAWBOURNE KIN ran outwards entering the bend hampering PERCENTAGE GIRL (9) which had to check, with THIRLLING RIOT being inconvenienced briefly. THRILLING RIOT had to check momentarily in the early stages of the home straight when awkwardly placed near the heels of PERCENTAGE GIRL which ran outwards. |
| Race 4 | The Clubhouse Sports Bar Stakes Series Heat 2 - C1q - 457 Heat 2 | CAWBOURNE OHIO (5) and JINJA MIA (2) were slow to jump. JINJA MIA was crowded for room entering the bend, with JINJA MIA shifting outwards abruptly making heavy contact with PACIFIC SUNRISE (1) which was hampered. The trailing ZIPPING SONIA (10) was also inconvenienced. ZIPPING SONIA failed to make any discernible ground thereafter and was examined by the veterinarian following the event and cleared of injury. |
| Race 5 | Palamountains Nutrition Waikato Classic Heat 1 - R/Aq - 457 Heat 1 | OPAWA KURU (1) was presented down 2.0 kilograms from its previous raceday start on 10 December 2015 at Addington. Co-trainer T Steele advised that the dog was having its first start for the kennel and that the decrease in weight was intentional. OPAWA KURU was last to jump. KAVA BLU (3) ran inwards through the early stages forcing KNOW ANSWER (2) into the line of OPAWA KURU which had to check. KNOW ANSWER was crowded soon after when racing to the inside of NEW LOOK (4) which ran inwards, with the trailing OPAWA KURU and CAWBOURNE SARAH (6) being hampered when unable to avoid heels. CAWBOURNE SARAH was examined by the veterinarian following the event and cleared of injury. |
| Race 6 | Palamountains Nutrition Waikato Classic Heat 2 - R/Aq - 457 Heat 2 | KNOW DECISION (2) was crowded leaving the boxes between ZIPPING JOCK (1) and KIMETTO (3), both of which shifted ground. KIMETTO ran inwards soon after forcing KNOW DECISION into the line of ZIPPING JOCK which was placed in restricted room for a short distance. YAP'S ME MUM (7) had to check rounding the bend when awkwardly near the heels of ZIPPING JOCK. |
| Race 7 | Palamountains Nutrition Waikato Classic Heat 3 - R/Aq - 457 Heat 3 | CAWBOURNE KRISTY (7) was slow to jump. JINJA FANTASY (4) and THRILLING LOGAN (3) collided leaving the boxes. LUCKY COLLECT (5) had to check shortly after the start when forced inwards onto the heels of JINJA FANTASY by ARCTIC ACTION (6) which ran inwards. ARCTIC ACTION continued to shift ground through the early stages jostling with JINJA FANTASY. LUCKY COLLECT struck the running rail approaching the bend when attempting to improve into a narrow gap to the inside of BOHABA GIRL (2). BOHABA GIRL was checked soon after when THRILLING LOGAN (3) ran inwards abruptly. LUCKY COLLECT was examined by the veterinarian following the event which revealed wrist soreness in the left-fore. |
| Race 8 | Palamountains Nutrition Waikato Classic Heat 4 - R/Aq - 457 Heat 4 | KAPUTSKI (1) was last to jump. STINGER (9) ran inwards from the boxes contacting the hindquarters of ELECTRIC PULSE (6) which was unbalanced, with STINGER being hampered soon after when colliding with OPAWA NORRIS (8). OPAWA NORRIS was inclined to run inwards through the early stages crowding ELECTRIC IMPULSE and JESSE PINKMAN (5). OPAWA NORRIS then ran inwards abruptly entering the bend severely hampering AVEDON JEETER (3) which was unbalanced, falling to the track. The trailing STINGER, JESSE PINKMAN and ELECTRIC IMPULSE were all checked when unable to avoid AVEDON JEETER, losing considerable ground and effectively all chance. KAPTUSKI was inconvenienced in this incident when crowded for room to the inside of AVEDON JEETER. AVEDON JEETER regained its footing and finished at the lure, with a subsequent veterinary examination revealing a dislocated right-hind toe. JESSE PINKMAN and ELECTRIC IMPULSE were examined by the veterinarian following the event where ELECTRIC IMPULSE was found to have soreness in the left-fore shoulder. JESSE PINKMAN was cleared of injury. |
| Race 9 | Palamountains Nutrition Waikato Classic Heat 5 - R/Aq - 457 Heat 5 | HEART YOU (7) was last to jump. KNOW HERO (3) ran outwards and collided with GLOBAL CONQUEST (9) shortly after the start. GLOBAL CONQUEST made the bend awkwardly contacting the running rail. GLOBAL CONQUEST then checked abruptly when awkwardly near the heels of HEART YOU which ran inwards, with GLOBAL CONQUEST losing its footing and effectively all chance. GLOBAL CONQUEST was examined by the veterinarian following the event and cleared of injury. IDOL LEANNE (8) ran inwards entering the bend resulting in KNOW HERO being crowded then checked when awkwardly placed near that runners heels. |
| Race 10 | Waikato Cup Heat 1 - C5q - 457 Heat 1 | CAWBOURNE CROUCH (2) and CAN'T CATCH TIM (3) collided leaving the boxes. DYNA VIKKERS (6) was crowded shortly after the start between WHO DAT BOY (5) and UNTRACEABLE (8), both of which shifted ground. UNTRACEABLE continued to shifted ground through the early stages inconveniencing WHO DAT BOY. WHO DAT BOY was tightened entering the bend between TEEGAMBO (4) and DYNA VIKKERS which ran inwards. DYNA VIKKERS lost momentum soon after when awkwardly near the heels of TEEGAMBO. DYNA VIKKERS proved disappointing thereafter, with a post-race veterinary examination revealing a strained right hock. |
| Race 11 | Waikato Cup Heat 2 - C5q - 457 Heat 2 | MARLISA (9) ran outwards from the boxes hampering TAKAMORI (7) which lost ground. LONESOME NITRO (3), CAWBOURNE WAR (4) and OPAWA DIESEL (1) were crowded shortly after the start between CAWBOURNE BRICK (2) and BUSTER BLUTH (5) which ran inwards abruptly. LONESOME NITRO raced in restricted room entering the bend when between OPAWA DIESEL and TAKAMORI. OPAWA DIESEL and LONESOME NITRO came together and bumped entering the home straight, with LONESOME NITRO becoming unbalanced. |
| Race 12 | Te Awamutu Self Storage Stakes - C3 - 457 | WILLIS (6) was slow to jump. ROCKY BOY (3) and RUBY MURRAY (10) collided leaving the boxes, with RUBY MURRAY shifting outwards soon after forcing GOLDEN IVY (5), BORIS GUMP (7) and KNUCKLE BUMP (9) wider on the track. GOLDEN IVY and COOL MARLOW (2) came together and bumped rounding the bend, with RUBY MURRAY being hampered when attempting a narrow run to the inside of this pair. BLACK DUDE (1) raced in restricted room entering the home straight, checking outwards across the ROCKY BOY to obtain clear running. |
