Judicial report: (1)Trainer J McInerney was fined $50 under the Minor Infringement Table for a breach of Rule 71.4 when failing to arrange for a catcher for ANOTHER MESSAGE in Race 6. Handler R L Fine was also spoken to advisedly in this regard and reminded of her obligations. (2) Handler R J Cairns was warned in regard to his obligations in respect of Rule 71.1.

Race 1	Merry Christmas Sprint - C1 - 310	BRINDEE'S BRO (C Healey) was down 2.3kg from his last race start which was over 28 days prior. The trainer had planned to take some weight off the greyhound and the dog was checked and cleared as fit to race by the veterinarian. BRINDEE'S BRO was slow to jump. From the jump PADDY THE BAKER shifted inwards from the No. 5 box checking BADUZZI on his inner. As the field tightened in the run to the turn PADDY THE BAKER and NOBLE FANTASY were checked and lost ground. Into the turn MAIA BAXTER ran inwards clipping the heels of PADDY THE BAKER and checking the trailing BRINDEE'S BRO. Both MAIA BAXTER and PADDY THE BAKER brushed the running rail and lost momentum. BADUZZI negotiated the bend awkwardly losing ground and NOBLE FANTASY ran wide in the straight.
Race 2	www.greyhoundsaspets.org.nz - C1 - 310	At the jump MIDNIGHT ACTION ran inwards from the No. 7 box checking BELFAST EEJIT, LIGNITE GIRL and OPAWA EXPRESS on her inner. Into the turn DEVILSKIN ran inwards checking ANOTHER KEY. On the turn OPAWA EXPRESS checked outwards off the heels of MIDNIGHT ACTION. Into the straight an improving DEVILSKIN was held up when ANOTHER KEY shifted ground downwards. SAILORS COLLAR ran wide throughout the race.
Race 3	Happy 2nd Birthday Lockey Sprint - C2 - 310	ROYAL ACTION was slow to jump. In the run to the turn ROYAL ACTION ran outwards checking ANOTHER JAMIE and HOMEBUSH FINE ran inwards checking CHERRY CRUSHER. On the turn CHERRY CRUSHER ran outwards checking ADRENALIN KICK who was forced outwards colliding with NO BRO, with the trailing ROYAL ACTION and ANOTHER JAMIE held up also. In the straight BLAZING HOT ran outwards dictating ROYAL ACTION wide.
Race 4	Dave Robbie Photographer Stakes - C1/2 - 545	LA KINKS was very slow to jump and lost several lengths. Shortly after the jump HERITAGE WATCH was tightened between SUBTERFUGE and OPAWA ROCKY. Into the first turn LA KINKS clipped the heels of HERITAGE WATCH with LA KINKS running wide on the track. PIANISSIMO also ran wide on the bend.
Race 5	St Kilda Veterinary Centre Stakes - C3/4 - 545	KNOW CLOWN and BOTANY KEVIN were slow to jump. Into the first turn UGO FLASH shifted ground outwards checking KNOW CHEERS and ANOTHER MESSAGE.
Race 6	Green Island Barber Sprint - C1 - 310	GOLDSTAR ROSIE ran inwards from the No. 5 box tightening GLORY HOG on her inside. In the run to the turn THUNDER DRAGON shifted ground outwards dictating JOEY BAXTER and THRILLING SHRIMP wide. Into the turn MITCHELL DEAN ran outwards checking GLORY HOG. On the turn and in the straight THUNDER DRAGON ran wide on the track.
Race 7	Brian Bagley Driver Licensing Sprint - C2 - 310	Co-trainer A McCook advised that HERSHEY PIE had been retired from racing. GIGANAIRE was a late scratching at kennelling with an elbow injury. In the run to the turn SPRINKLES was tightened between HOMEBUSH BRUNO and NO MORE BEERSIES and lost momentum. Into the turn SPRINKLES ran inwards checking HOMEBUSH BRUNO.
Race 8	Brocklebanks Dry Cleaners Sprint - C2 - 310	There was a delay to the start of this race when FAIR CRUZIN was removed from the kennel with the incorrect rug which was changed prior to the dog being paraded to the track. Handler R J Cairns was spoken to advisedly and issued with a warning taking into account that the dog had not been paraded. CHICAGO BLACK ran inwards from the No. 6 box checking KENTARO BAXTER on her inside dictating that dog into the path of KNOW THANKS who was held up. In the run to the turn WINNE WILLOW shifted ground outwards checking CHICAGO BLACK. Into the turn KNOW THANKS ran outwards clipping the heels of CHICAGO BLACK with both dogs losing ground.
Race 9	Speedprint Shop Sprint - C3 - 310	Into the turn OPAWA CRUSADE shifted ground inwards checking OM NOM NOM. In the straight SAN SEBASTIAN ran wide.
Race 10	President's Stakes Final - C2f - 545	PUKEKO BOLT was slow to start. Shortly after the jump BIRCHBROOK ran outwards dictating HOMEBUSH RILEY wide. In the run to the turn KNOW SECURITY ran outwards checking ZIPPING SONNY and KNOW WORTH who lost ground. On the turn and in the straight KNOW WORTH and PUKEKO BOLT ran wide.
Race 11	Group 2 Far South Challenge Final - C5f - 545	KNOW DANGER and SOUTHERN LIGHTS were slow to jump. Shortly after the jump ROBBIE shifted outwards checking SOUTHERN LIGHTS. At the end of the back straight TRUST ISSUES shifted ground inwards tightening MYSTIC ACTION.
Race 12	Robbies Bar and Bistro Sprint - C3 - 310	RED HOT FURY and OPAWA COLIN were slow to jump. From the jump HOMEBUSH ZIPPY ran inwards from the No. 8 box checking TELL THE BOYS and WUNZEE with the trailing OPAWA COLIN also checked. Into the turn TELL THE BOYS ran inwards checking WUNZEE with HUMAN INSTINCT held up. On the turn OPAWA LEAN MEAT shifted outwards checking TELL THE BOYS, and RED HOT FURY and OPAWA COLIN ran wide.
Race 13	Christmas Cracker Invitation Sprint - INV - 310	From the jump STORMING NORM and OPAWA ROCKET bumped with both dogs losing momentum. Into the turn PUMA PANTS checked off the heels of TEE TIME with both dogs losing ground, and SHADOW APACHE was tightened when KERAMUS shifted ground inwards.
Race 14	Racing Again Tuesday 12th January - C4 - 310	From the jump TOKEN ACE ran inwards from the No. 6 box checking GRAND APACHE with the trailing IMPERSONATOR tightened. On the turn AIR EXPRESS ran outwards checking GRAND APACHE with GOSSIP QUEEN running wide. Stewards reviewed film of the finish to check that JAMAICAN ARCHIE had continued to pursue the lure when reaching the front, and concluded that the dog had shifted ground downwards and run awkwardly but had kept his head straight and chased the lure and no further action was necessary.
