Judicial report: GULLY FLAHERTY Race 8 was a late scratching at 3.48pm on veterinary advice. K Herbert ( EVA KANEVA) Race 6 was issued with a warning under Rule 71.2 failing to appear at the kennels by the appointed time.

Race 1	MTA Gift Vouchers Sprint - C1 - 318	MORE SALT NEEDED (5) shifted in leaving the boxes crowding DR. ROBBIE (4). DR. ROBBIE and BOTANY HOT SHOT (6) came together for several strides entering the first turn with BOTANY HOT SHOT losing ground. DR. ROBBIE raced wide rounding the bend. LOCHINVAR MAUI (8) went off stride rounding the first turn losing ground quickly to finish the race some distance from the field. A post race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the right hock.
Race 2	Sel's TAB Mangere Sprint - C0 - 318	WATCH THAT GYPSY (1) began awkwardly losing ground. SCOOT THE LOOT (4) and EMBRACE ME (5) were slow away with these runners coming together soon after the start. DRUNKEN LADY (7) and SPOTTED FLYER (8) came together for several strides racing down the back straight. WATCH THAT GYPSY and CHOCKA ME WALLET (1) made brief contact rounding the bend. EMBRACE ME and DRUNKEN LADY raced very wide losing ground rounding the final bend. WATCH THAT GYPSY shifted out entering the final straight making solid contact with CHOCKA ME WALLET with these runners briefly unbalanced. Also inconvenienced as a result was SPEARMINT JUJU (3) who was following these runners at the time with SPEARMINT JUJU having to shift out to obtain clear racing room.
Race 3	McGhie Plumbing Sprint - C2 - 318	TULIP MUNCHER (1) and WAIRIO DEE JAY (2) were last to leave the boxes. WAIRIO DEE JAY was tightened losing ground entering the first turn, coming together with CHATEAU NEUF for a stride. WAERENGA STAR (5) shifted in entering the first turn inconveniencing TULIP MUNCHER who lost ground quickly going back onto WAIRIO DEE JAY and CHATEAU NEUF. TULIP MUNCHER was referred to the veterinarian with no abnormality detected.
Race 4	Greyhound Function Centre Stakes - C1/2 - 527	THRILLING CARTER (7) and SHEER MISS (5) were slow away. MOCKINGJAY (6) shifted in making contact with the hindquarters of OPAWA PEARL (4) soon after the start with these runners both unbalanced. At the same time SHEER MISS shifted in making contact with PREOCCUPIED (3) with these runners both unbalanced for a stride with PREOCCUPIED losing ground. OPAWA PEARL and SHEER MISS made brief contact entering the first turn with OPAWA PEARL losing ground inconveniencing THRILLING CARTER who then raced wide throughout. Rounding the final bend MOCKINGJAY had to steady when awkwardly placed on the heels of PREOCCUPIED with MOCKINJAY then held up for a distance on this runners heels when racing at the rear of the field.
Race 5	Greyhounds As Pets Sprint - C3 - 318	JINJA LUCA (1) stumbled badly leaving the boxes losing considerable ground and its chance. CALIFORNIA KING (4) was slightly slow away. ZULU MERCEDES (3) and SOMEBODY TIFI (7) made solid contact entering the first turn with these runners both becoming unbalanced shifting out losing ground. Inconvenienced as a result was ROCKY BOY (8). Rounding the first bend CYLCLONE LUSI (6) made contact with the hindquarters of UP HIGH (5) losing ground. JINJA LUCA was referred to the veterinarian following this event with no abnormality detected.
Race 6	Carol's TABS Sprint - C2 - 318	CORUBA RAGE (2) and SECOND TIME (3) were last to leave the boxes with these runners then both further hampered when WALTER MITTY (4) shifted in making contact. Soon after the start CORUBA RAGE made brief contact with the hindquarters of SECOND TIME. EVA KANEVA shifted in becoming unbalanced racing toward the first turn with EVA KANEVA then shifting out making brief contact with WALTER MITTY losing ground. As a result WALTER MITTY shifted out slightly inconveniencing VINCENT GALLO (6), SECOND TIME and CORUBA RAGE. CORUBA RAGE raced very wide entering the final straight losing ground. WALTER MITTY underwent a post race veterinary examination which revealed pain in the right wrist with a 28 day stand down imposed.
Race 7	$30k Guaranteed Triple Trio Stakes - C3 - 527	RUBY MURRAY (1), COOL MARLOW (2) and JESSIE PINKMAN (8) were last to leave the boxes. YAP'S ME MUM (4) and ELECTRIC IMPULSE (5) came together soon after the start with both runners becoming unbalanced. Racing toward the first turn FORTIS FLIER (3) angled in tightening RUBY MURRAY who made contact with this runners hindquarters becoming unbalanced and shifting out. Rounding the first turn RUBY MURRAY got on the heels of ELECTRIC IMPULSE with both runners becoming unbalanced losing ground.
Race 8	DogZone Sprint - C1 - 318	GULLY FLAHERTY was a late scratching at 3.48pm on veterinary advice. OPAWA UNO presented 1.1kgs down in weight from its previous start on 6 December 2015 with the connections advising this was a planned decrease. OPAWA UNO (1), JETSUN STORM (2) and COOKIE MONSTER (4) were slow away. OPAWA UNO and JETSUN STORM came together and jostled for a distance racing into the first turn with OPAWA UNO losing ground. THRILLING WIGGLE (3) and JUST ABOUT READY (5) jostled racing down the back straight with TEPIRITA AMBER (7) shifting in making contact with JUST ABOUT READY losing ground. Soon after BEE LITCHER (8) shifted in making contact with JUST ABOUT READY who lost ground with BEE LITCHER then coming together with THRILLING WIGGLE with BEE LITCHER becoming unbalanced shifting out inconveniencing TEPIRITA AMBER with these runners losing ground. Rounding the final bend BEE LITCHER angled in making contact with TEPIRITA AMBER with both runners becoming briefly unbalanced.
Race 9	Happy Birthday Pam Coutts Stakes - C1 - 527	RAMAH REASON (2) and APRIL'S MY MUM (8) were last to leave the boxes. JINJA MIA (5) and WHAT THAT DOES (4) came together soon after the start. Entering the first turn HERSHKE (6) angled in making contact with MATALINO TWIST (3) with these runners becoming unbalanced shifting out hampering JINJA MIA, ZALIA (7) and APRIL'S MY MUM who were all taken wider losing ground with RAMAH REASON then getting on the heels of ZALIA losing considerable ground.
Race 10	AGRC Founders Day Stakes - C4/5 - 527	Racing into the first turn WINTERFELL (7) angled in making contact with ROLEX ROO (5) with these runners shifting in. Entering the first turn NEW LOOK (2) and UNTRACEABLE (4) came together with UNTRACEABLE then shifting out onto TALKIN FANCY (6) who was taken out onto WHO DAT BOY who was hampered shifting wide with TALKIN FANCY and WHO DAT BOY losing ground. Rounding the bend leaving the back straight NEW LOOK was inconvenienced having to steady going back onto WINTERFELL who was also inconvenienced having to steady.
Race 11	Founders Day Trophy - C5 - 318	SUBIC BAY (1), SPEED LORDE (5) and NANGAR STAR (6) were last to leave the boxes with SPEED LORDE and NANGAR STAR then coming together. FESTIVAL MISS (3) and THRILLING GALAXY (4) came together and jostled for a distance racing down the back straight with these runner becoming unbalanced losing ground rounding the first turn, FESTIVAL MISS the worst affected. NANGAR STAR and IRISH BLUE (7) came together entering the first turn with both runners becoming unbalanced then having to shift out off the heels of FESTIVAL MISS. SPEED LORDE shifted out in the final straight making solid contact with NANGAR STAR.
Race 12	Deli's Sports Bar Clendon Inn Sprint - C4 - 318	UMAGA RAMA (6) and MELMAN (7) were last to leave the boxes. SANDOR GLEGANE (5), UMAGA RAMA and MELMAN came together soon after the start losing ground. ROCKIN' FANCY (2) was tightened rounding the first turn going back onto WHISPER MAGIC (1) which was checked shifting out onto STYLISH FANCY (3) with WHISPER MAGIC then losing ground going back making brief contact with SANDOR GLEGANE before being hampered losing considerable ground by UMAGA RAMA which shifted out abruptly off heels. Also inconvenienced was MELMAN. UMAGA RAMA then continued to shift out hampering LITTLE DREAMS (8) who was taken very wide losing considerable ground.
