Judicial report: Handlers G.Tapiki (HELLO BLONDIE) and C.D.Steele (JESSIE SURFS) were fined $50 each under the Minor Infringement Table for a breach of Rule 71.2 when late to retrieve their greyhounds for the start of Race 6.

Race 1	www.southlandgreyhounds.co.nz - C0 - 390	ROYAL BASH was very slow to jump and lost several lengths. From the jump ELLA BAXTER shifted ground outwards from the No. 4 box checking PRINCELY MONEY on her outer. Into the turn BURSAR was tightened when HIS NIBS ran inwards and then clipped the rear of CAIRNELLA who was turned sideways and then struck by the trailing HIS NIBS. As a result CAIRNELLA fell and lost all chance with the trailing ELLA BAXTER and ROYAL BASH held up and losing ground. After the race CAIRNELLA was subject to a veterinary check which revealed no injury.
Race 2	GREYHOUNDSASPETS.ORG.NZ - C1 - 390	APOLLO BAXTER was very slow to jump. On the turn and into the straight APOLLO KING and APOLLO BAXTER ran wide.
Race 3	Dine @ Piqueos Melb. - C1 - 390	Into the turn FILANTE was tightened between GOING PRONTO and CRYSTAL FLAME and fell losing all chance to finish a distant last. In the straight COOL DEXTER was clipped from behind by DEBORAH BAY and stumbled losing considerable ground with DEBORAH BAY also losing momentum. FILANTE and COOL DEXTER were subject to veterinary checks post race which revealed no injuries.
Race 4	WELCOME BRETT & PETER TO THE BOARD - C1 - 390	SAILORS COLLAR ran outwards from the No. 5 box with MOON AN SEA, THUNDER DRAGON and STORMING NORM all checked on the outside. In the run to the turn STORMING NORM shifted ground inwards checking THUNDER DRAGON, and then on the turn THUNDER DRAGON was forced to check outwards off the heels of STORMING NORM. In the straight SAILORS COLLAR ran wide.
Race 5	ADDED ENERGY - C0 - 457	There was a delay in clearing payment for this race with the loss of film coverage. KRISTA BARISTA proved difficult to load and had to be reloaded. OPAWA JEMAINE was slow to jump. The race rug of KRISTA BARISTA was ripped off when the dog caught her leg in the rug at the jump. KRISTA BARISTA, OPAWA TOP, SLYNESS and CAWBOURNE EDEN all bumped over the early stages. ROOKIE RACER and FRECKLE FLYER also made contact in the run to the bend. OPAWA TOP, OPAWA JEMAINE and CAWBOURNE EDEN bumped prior to the bend. On the bend ROOKIE RACER was struck from behind by OPAWA JEMAINE and FRECKLE FLYER with ROOKIE RACER losing its momentum. Stewards withheld confirmation of payment of this race pending a review of the start. KRISTA BARISTA was not held up as a result of losing her rug and no other greyhound was inconvenienced in the incident.
Race 6	SGRC $50 LEATHER LEADS - C3 - 457	Handlers G.Tapiki (HELLO BLONDIE) and C.Steele (JESSIE SURFS) were late to retrieve their respective greyhounds from the kennel block prior to the start of this race. CAWBOURNE WALES and OPAWA GUMISIE were slow to jump. In the run to the turn ABRASADOR ran inwards checking HOMEBUSH BUCK and OPAWA GUMISIE. Into the turn CAWBOURNE WALES checked outwards off the heels of OPAWA GUMISIE and checked HELLO BLONDIE, HOMEBUSH BUCK and OPAWA VAL.
Race 7	10 SLEEPS TO SANTA - C3 - 390	OPAWA LEAN MEAT shifted outwards from the jump checking OPAWA IDOL who lost ground.
Race 8	SGRC $26 FIVE WIRE MUZZLE STAKES - C1 - 457	CAWBOURNE HINT was slow to jump. Into the turn MAGIC MIKE shifted ground inwards checking TAMASKA. Into the straight HERITAGE WATCH and CAWBOURNE HINT bumped heavily with both dogs losing ground to finish at the rear.
Race 9	SOUTHLAND & OTAGO PHOTO FINISH - C2 - 390	ADRENALIN KICK and OPAWA CRUSADE jostled at the jump. On the bend ADRENALIN KICK which was racing in restricted room was galloped on from behind by SKETCHT STEVE with the trailing BELIEVE also galloping on ADRENALIN KICK with both ADRENALIN KICK and BELIEVE falling. SKETCHY STEVE, OPAWA EXPRESS and EXPECT DELAY also received checks in this incident. ADRENALIN KICK and BELIEVE were both inspected by the veterinarian with ADRENALIN KICK cleared of injury and a 7 day stand down recommended for BELIEVE.
Race 10	HAPPY BIRTHDAY RICHARD BREEN - C2 - 457	OPAWA NORRIS ran inwards from the No. 8 box tightening ALL ABOUT ECHO and OPAWA MINSTREL on his inner. After the race CAWBOURNE KRISTY cramped up and was referred to the veterinarian for assessment with a 7 day stand down recommended.
Race 11	CONGRATULATIONS SINGAPORE SLING - C4/5 - 457	BLACK CROW and SOUTHERN LIGHTS both made heavy contact on the bend. BLACK CROW ran wide on the bend forcing SOUTHERN LIGHTS wider on the track. IZZET BALE had to check off heels of ELEPHANT GUNN and BLACK CROW on the bend. ELEPHANT GUN improved on the inside of SOUTHERN LIGHTS prior to the home straight with SOUTHERN LIGHTS being held up.
Race 12	justracing.com.au - C4 - 390	CAWBOURNE PEEJAY was checked when racing between OPAWA OPAL and HOMEBUSH SLINKY. GOOD GENES and SMASH THAT bumped just prior to the home straight.
Race 13	RACING AGAIN NEW YEARS EVE - C4/5 - 390	HOMEBUSH PAIGE jumped awkwardly and lost momentum. At the top of the straight PUMA PANTS shifted ground outwards dictating CAWBOURNE JELLY wide.
