Weather: Showery
Track: Good The Track was presented in a good racing condition. Midway through the meeting there was a fair amount of rain however the Track was well groomed and in good order through out. All other equipment operated well.
Scales: Correct at all weights
Health and Safety comment: Nil

Judicial report: After race 2 the track was upgraded from Dead to Good as the drying wind improved the fastness of the track in the early part of the programme.
There were 7 Late scratchings today which was disappointing given that some of the injuries could have been picked up prior to the dogs being presented on track.
The Stewards requested that the dog BOSTON LIGHTNING ( A Turnwald ) scratching in race 9 be presented to the Vet on Track today.
This was carried out with the Vet finding injuries consistent to the reasons given to the Stewards earlier in the day.
Soon after the running of race 7 the track staff noticed that the lights around the home turn had gone out.An electrician was rung and was soon on track to assess the problem.
The Stewards after consulting with the Club had the races put back 1 race to allow time for repairs and checks to make sure all lights were in working order.
The lights were fixed, the meeting went ahead with no problems for the rest of the meeting.
BOSS APPEAL ( race 6 ) was found in a distressed state when being retrieved from his kennel BOSS APPEAL could not be saved and inquires in to the incident are continuing.

Race 1	ABSOLUTELY ELECTRICAL C2 - C2 - 305	There were 3 late scratching in this race. Racing in to the first bend PIXIE DUST ran on to the back of BLITZING FLYER for stride going back and bumping with CAWBOURNE GEORGE. PIXIE DUST went back to the rear and was unable to improve there after.
Race 2	ADEPT ACCOUNTANTS C2 - C2 - 305	HAPPY WIFE ( fav ) was only fairly away from box 7.RUA RAMA box 8 stumbled coming off the mat going in to the shoulder of HAPPY WIFE. Racing in to the first bend HAPPY WIFE when attempting to improve wider out came together with WHITEY'S GONE and SERVE YA PURPOSE. HAPPY WIFE and WHITEY'S GONE bumped and jostled for a couple of strides, HAPPY WIFE improved steadily between runners to the home turn where she finished strongly in the run home to finish in 3rd placing at the line.
Race 3	THE ROCK 95.2FM C3 FEATURE - C3 - 520	BOTANY LIZ was a late scratching at kennelling with a wound to the pad on the left hind. Racing to the back straight THUMB PRINT TONY racing midfield on the inner was slightly checked as NITRO MARY raced past him. THUMB PRINT TONY went off stride losing ground to finish a margin behind the field to finish on to the lure. THUMB PRINT TONY was referred to the vet for assessment where he was found to have suffered a gracilis muscle injury to the right hind.
Race 4	LIQUORLAND WANGANUI C5 - C5 - 305	In the run to the first bend CHEAP SHOT MATTY angled out on to the shoulder of ALLEGRO CLASS checking this runner back, CHEAP SHOT MATTY then ran on to WHY OH WHY.ALLEGRO CLASS as he was checked back he angled out over heels running in to SUBIC BAY checking this runner for a stride or so. As the field raced in to the first bend there was tightening and jostling between several runners as SUBIC BAY arced to the lead angling across and pushing WHY OH WHY in across the face of HOMEBUSH ZANE severely hampering this runner going back on to SPRING MAJOR. WHY OH WHY was checked back going back on to CHEAP SHOT MATTY who was checked back to the rear then ran out wide racing widest there after to the line. Racing in to the home straight HOMEBUSH ZANE racing on the inner made contact with the rail for some strides finished in to 5th placing at the line. HOMEBUSH ZANE was referred to the vet as a precaution.
Race 5	WANGANUI CHRONICLE C5 - C5 - 305	Racing in to the first bend there was tightening and jostling in the midfield as CRANKY PANTS angled across on to the shoulder of AL'S GIRL pushing this runner in across the face of ALLEGRO BLAST who went in on to SEDGEBROOK BABE and BYE BYE MYSTERY these runners being checked back to the rear. Racing in to the bend ALLEGRO CHASER just ahead of ONE BROKE GIRL on the inner was forced inwards as AL'S GIRL improved forward with CRANKY PANTS on her outer, ONE BROKE GIRL caught heels stumbled and fell, ALLEGRO BLAST in behind scrambled up and over the back of ONE BROKE GIRL,ALLEGRO BLAST lost her footing going sideways on her hind for some strides. BYE BYE MYSTERY and SEDGEBROOK BABE were severely hampered at this point having to angle out sharply to avoid these runners racing wide on to the top bend covering a fair amount of extra ground both runners finished well back at the line. ALLEGRO BLAST recovered to her paws to finish on to the lure and was referred to the vet for assessment. ONE BROKE GIRL pulled up on the home turn and was referred to the vet for assessment.
Race 6	KEENAN CONCRETE C2 - C2 - 305	BOSS APPEAL was a late scratching pre race presentation after the dog was found to be unwell when retrieved from the kennel by the Trainer. BOSS APPEAL was found to have bruising &swelling to the back of the throat area. On inspection of the kennel there was nothing found that could have caused an injury to the dog. Soon after the start MAD MUSIC and FLYING SWAN came together, FLYING SWAN was bumped over on to FUNKY FREDDY and FRANKINCENSE as this runner barged his way outwards across the face of FUNKY FREDDY, FLYING SWAN.FRANKINCENSE kept on running outwards running on to WHATU TRENDY checking this runner.
Race 7	PALAMOUNTAINS SCIENTIFIC NUTRITION C2 - C2 - 520	Racing away from the start OPAWA JACKIE angled across on to HEART YOU, FAST RIGBY and OLLIE BAXTER as SPOT ON MAGGIE angled outwards, all these runners were checked. Racing in to the bend on the first occasion OPAWA JACKIE angled in tightening FAST RIGBY, OLLIE BAXTER in on to BEDLAM BRIDGE, as these runners checked they went back on to HEART YOU who ran on to heels for a couple of strides. OLLIE BAXTER ran wide on to the first bend.
Race 8	DOPEY DOG LASER ENGRAVING C3 - C3 - 305	BIGTIME REIGN was a late scratching at kennelling due to having pain over the right carpus. Race all clear.
Race 9	FIVE STAR KENNELS AND RUNS C4/5 - C4/5 - 520	From the jump SMASH ALLEGRO ran in on to PUNCH ON JAMIE and CAWBOURNE CROUCH ( fav ) moved in on to RADWANSKA bumping this runner. Racing in to the bend on the first occasion PUNCH ON JAMIE was checked when getting on the heels of SMASH ALLEGRO as this runner came back on him soon after RADWANSKA ran out in to the line of PUNCH ON JAMIE checking this runner again. PUNCH ON JAMIE raced in the rear there after.
Race 10	FIRST SECURITY C3 - C3 - 305	Racing to the home turn SHINZIGZAG was forced to angle out to avoid catching the heels of SEMANTICS .SHINZIGZAG ran out checking HOMEBUSH OLIVE and FLYING BLAKE out wide as they raced in to the home straight.
Race 11	AON CPF C3/4 - C3/4 - 305	All clear
Race 12	BOOK YOUR FUNCTION @ HATRICK C3/4 - C3/4 - 305	BRILLIANT JAYLA was a late scratching on arrival to the track due to being in season. Race all clear.
