Weather: OvercastTrack: Good Track was presented in good racing condition for the early part of the meeting. Remedial work needed later in the day.
Scales: Correct at all weights
Health and Safety comment: Nil
Judicial report: Race 9 the lids opened as the first line was almost loaded. First line runners ran down the track approx. 70 metres before turning round and galloping back towards the sprint boxes where they were caught. The Club Vet checked all the dogs with the ( fav ) TIMMY TRUMPET being the only dog with an injury to the off side hock and was late scratched
The boxes were checked and found to be working fine. The race was restarted with no further issues.
The film showed that the boxes were closed properly prior to loading, after reviewing the film and speaking to the Starter G Sharp there was no evidence of processes not being followed. It is a possibility that the wind may have set the boxes of on this occasion.
On returning off the track from race 9 several Trainers complained about the slippery nature of the track in their opinion.
The Stewards Several Trainers and Track committee inspected the track and found that the concerns had some merit.
Race 10 was put back 1 race to allow remedial work to be carried out on the track. This was completed with a further inspection the Stewards found that with the work carried out the track was safe to race on with the remainder of the meeting being run with out further problems.
Handler Mrs K O'Regan was fined $50-00 minor infringement rule 71.2 after failing to catch a runner in race 5 as arranged.

Race 1 | The Clubhouse Sports Bar Sprint - C0 - 375 | Racing from the boxes RED RASCAL raced across the face of PREOCCUPIED who was pushed in on to TRIPLE PARKED. Just ahead ITA FISH OIL angled in on to OUR SWIFT BUDDY forcing this runner in on to DERECHO STORM.A couple of strides on PREOCCUPIED was forced inwards severely across the front of TRIPLE PARKED in on to ITSA FISH OIL forcing this runner in cutting OUR SWIFT BUDDY back with DERECHO STORM being bumped and galloping over the rail and falling on the inner of the track. ITSA FISH OIL was forced in to the rail along with OUR SWIFT BUDDY. ITSA FISH OIL went back through the field and pulled up on the top bend. DERECHO STORM, ITSA FISH OIL and OUR SWIFT BUDDY were referred to the vet for assessment OUR SWIFT BUDDY was found to be cleared of injury |
Race 2 | YGOT Bonus Scheme Sprint - C2 - 375 | Racing from the boxes OUR HEISENBERG angled in on to BIGTIME DASHER cutting DYLANS A VILLAIN back as TULIP MUNCHER and OPAWA UNO came out all these runners were checked for a couple of strides. Racing in to the first bend OUR HEISENBERG angled in again pushing BIGTIME DASHER across the face of TULIP MUNCHER and in on to OPAWA UNO.MAGIC WHITELOCK on the inner was pushed on to heels and checked going back several lengths going outwards on to TULIP MUNCHER who caught the heels of OUR HEISENBERG.LOCHINVAR MAUI on their outer was checked and forced to run out very wide along with TULIP MUNCHER as the field raced on to and across the top bend . LOCHINVAR MAUI and TULIP MUNCHER lost all chance after being forced out wide finishing in the rear at the line. |
Race 3 | 0800 4 Down Cow Sprint - C1 - 375 | THRILLING TOBY box 6 was checked as the field jumped away from the boxes as ESPIRITO ( fav ) ran inwards sharply. THRILLING TOBY took a bit to get in to stride being several lengths JETSUN STORM dwelt at the start, he was soon in to stride to race up in behind the leaders racing in to the first bend he made contact with the rail for a stride or so. soon after THRILLING TOBY when looking to improve in to the field ran on to the heels of ATOMIC LASS and LADY ROSE. THRILLING TOBY lost momentum and was unable to get back in to contention there after. JETSUN STORM was referred to the vet for assessment where no abnormalities were found. |
Race 4 | Fond Foods Ltd Sprint - C2 - 375 | Racing in to the first bend there was crowding in the midfield resulting in ILLICIT TWIST, LORD DE AIR, ZIPPING JACOB and LUCKY MAN all being tightened for a couple of strides. |
Race 5 | Hautapu Veterinary Services Sprint - C1 - 375 | Racing from the boxes FOUND ROMAN box 8 ran in sharply across the face of OPAWA LOI,JETSUN LORD JON and on to YOU BETCHA GUFF all these dogs lost ground. Racing in to the first bend OPAWA LOI ducked in across the heels of YOU BETCHA GUFF.JETSUN LORD JON was checked again when catching the heels of OPAWA LOI,JETSUN LORD JON went back to a clear last in the running making ground in the run home to finish in the back bunch at the line. racing to the home turn YOU BETCHA GUFF racing handy was bumped outwards as OPAWA LOI improved between runners. YOU BETCHA GUFF ran wide in to the home turn and down the home straight finishing in 6th placing at the line. |
Race 6 | Palamountains Nutrition Stakes Series Final - C1f - 457 | Jumping away from the start GOLDEN IVY ran in to LOCKETTE IN EDDIE. On the inner GLOBAL CONQUEST box 2 ran in to BILL RUSH who stumbled for a stride. Soon after the start NEW LOOK ( fav ) on getting clear of GLOBAL CONQUEST angled to the rail, GLOBAL CONQUEST after being checked slightly made contact with the rail going up in the air for stride losing ground back towards the rear. GLOBAL CONQUEST recovered well to make ground along the inner in to 4th placing at the line and was referred to the vet for assessment where no abnormalities were found. |
Race 7 | Affordable Pet Accessories Sprint - C1 - 375 | Racing away from the start TRINITY FLIGHT, MIGHTY TWIST and GO ANDWYN ( fav ) came together bumping and jostling or some strides. racing in to the first bend SNAPCHAT was held for a couple of strides as he was pushed in across the heels of EVEN SEVEN. Racing on to the top bend GO ANDWYN improving along the inner was forced to check out over heels sharply, GO ANDWAYN stumbled slightly and was forced to race widest in to the home turn where he was checked again as MIGHTY TWIST angled out across the heels of PROCRASTINATION. GO ANDWYN finished in the last few at the line and was referred to the vet as a precaution where no abnormalities were found |
Race 8 | Superior Chunky Dog Rolls Stakes - C2/3 - 457 | PIRATE LORE was awkwardly away fro a stride or so and was never in contention there after racing several lengths in the rear to the home turn. PIRATE LORE only battled in the run to the line and was referred to the vet for assessment where no abnormalities were found. Soon after the start SOLARIAN angled in on to the shoulder of ROCK LASS ( fav ) for some distance. ROCK LASS lost several lengths past midfield, she gained a run along the inner there after to finish best in the run home to win. |
Race 9 | DogZone Sprint - C3 - 375 | The lids lifted as the fist line was being loaded. TIMMY TRUMPET, LITTLE DREAMS, IRISH BLUE and ROCKETSHIP MAC all ran approx. 70 or so metres before turning around and headed back towards the boxes. These dogs bumped and banged together as they pulled up and turned as they got to the boxes. The Vet was sent to the start and checked all the dogs with TIMMY TRUMPET the only late scratching on Vets advice The rest of the field were declared fit for a start. The race was restarted with no further issues. Race all clear. |
Race 10 | Box1 Gold Sprint - C4 - 375 | This race was put back 1 race to allow remedial work to be carried out on the track due to Trainers concerns that the track was too slippery Racing in to the first bend TALKIN FANCY angled in on to ARMASTICE DAY, CRACKLES APPEAL these runners tightened in on to KISSEN RUN. CRACKLES APPEAL was checked back towards the rear along with KISSEN RUN both runners were unable to get back in to contention there after. |
Race 11 | Happy 1st Birthday Jacob Stakes - C1 - 457 | SURMISE box 7 jumped high on leaving the boxes bumping in to KITTY'S SHIRAZ for a stride. CORUBA RAGE box 4 run out sharply across the heels of MISS VOTCHKA running in to the shoulder of CASH MACHINE ( fav ) checking this runner back in behind. OUR SAMBO box 3 soon after the start ran outwards across the face of CORUBA RAGE and CASH MACHINE to bump in to KITTY'S SHIRAZ hampering this runner for a couple of strides. Racing in to the first bend MATALINO TWIST was checked losing some ground as SURMISE came in on to CORUBA RAGE pushing this runner in towards the rail. In the run across the top bend CORUBA GOLD on the improve was forced to angle out over the heels of OUR SAMBO to be the widest runner in to the home straight finishing in the rear at the line. |
Race 12 | Melbourne Cup at The Clubhouse Stakes - C4/5 - 457 | In the run to the first bend PREMIER OSTI and OPTIC SHIMMER came together umping for a few strides. Racing in to the first bend JAZZBOY JACK racing in the rear was held up for some strides as PREMIER OSTI was tightened back when racing tightly between OPTIC SHIMMER and TEEGAMBO on his outer. |
