Race 1 Otago First4 Maiden Sprint - C0 - 310 FIRST OFFICER (4) was a clear last on jumping. LIGHT THAW (1), ANOTHER VESPA (5) and DEVILSKIN (6) were all tightened in the back straight losing ground. ELLA BAXTER (7) angled inwards on the bend checking ANOTHER CASINO (3). ELLA BAXTER and ANOTHER VESPA came together in the home straight. LIGHT THAW shifted up the track in the concluding stages.
Race 2 Dave Robbie Photographer Sprint - C0 - 310 PASS WITH CARE (2) and ANOTHER SPIN (3) were the last pair on jumping. HOMEBUSH KAYLA (4) was badly checked off the hind quarters of ANOTHER SPIN into the bend dropping to the rear with PASS WITH CARE forced wide around this runner. HOMEBUSH KAYLA was referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of injury.
Race 3 Brian Bagley Driver Licensing Sprint - C1 - 310 QUIN BAXTER (6) was last to jump. UNO JAMES (2) was tightened and fell in the back straight. UNO JAMES regained his paws and completed the race with this runner being referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of injury. QUIN BAXTER was checked when attempting to avoid the fallen runner and then faltered and struck the rail into the bend with this dog not completing the race. QUIN BAXTER was referred to the vet for assessment. HOMEBUSH SPIKE (1) was tightened on the bend losing ground resulting in GIGANAIRE (3) being forced wide as a result.
Race 4 Norwood Farm Machinery Sprint - C1 - 310 MIGHTY MAC (4) was last to jump. KENTARO BAXTER (5) shifted inwards in the back straight tightening SASHA MCBELL (2) and FAIR CRUZIN (3). APOLLO KING (1) ran outwards into the bend pushing STAR APACHE (7) wider on the track. MIGHTY MAC was badly held up into the bend when attempting to improve losing momentum. APOLLO KING continued to race wide in the home straight.
Race 5 Green Island Barber Sprint - C2 - 310 This race was delayed by 4 minutes due to a protest at the Methven harness meeting. HOMEBUSH RUFUS (2) ran outwards in the early stages tightening HYPERPARADISE (3) and SCREW AND BOLT (5) which had shifted down the track. CAWBOURNE DOZER (6) then ran inwards checking SCREW AND BOLT. CAWBOURNE DOZER was then checked into the bend losing ground. MOON AND SEA (8) raced wide into the bend.
Race 6 St Kilda Veterinary Centre Sprint - C1 - 310 BUSINESS BOSS (1) angled outwards into the bend causing BRINDEE'S BRO (2), ANOTHER KEY (7) and BELFAST EEJIT (8) to be forced wide. On the turn HOMEBUSH FINE (4) was checked from behind by WALLY BAXTER (3) and lost momentum. WALLY BAXTER lost ground in this incident and checked the trailing BUSINESS BOSS. In behind BRINDEE'S BRO checked wide to avoid these runners hampering BELFAST EEJIT in the process.
Race 7 Robbie's Bar & Bistro Dunedin Sprint - C1 - 310 This event was delayed by 3 minutes at the request of Raceday Control. OUR JOHN (4), PUKEKO THUNDER (5) and HOMEBUSH MESSI (7) were the last trio on jumping. SHEZ KEEN (3) was tightened into the bend losing ground after OPAWA EXPRESS (6) had run inwards. ANOTHER CHARM (8) and PUKEKO THUNDER raced wide around the home turn. HOMEBUSH MESSI and SHEZ KEEN came together on the home turn when well back.
Race 8 Brocklebanks Dry Cleaners Sprint - C3 - 310 CAWBOURNE PEEJAY (5) was last to settle. HOMEBUSH ERROL (4) and ROB'S MATE (8) were hampered into the bend and lost ground.
Race 9 St Kilda Veterinary Centre Stakes - C1 - 545 PUKEKO BOLT (6) and PRIVATE ACTION (8) were the last pair on jumping. WHAT I LIKE (9) was checked and ran outwards into the first bend pushing PRIVATE ACTION outwards. On the home turn LICK IT UP (3) was checked and ran outwards after being crossed by GLORY HOG (2). LICK IT UP was then unbalanced and ran outwards striking the outside fence and falling to the track. LICK IT UP was referred to the vet for assessment and found to have had a seizure with the dog being placed on a drip to help its recovery.
Race 10 Otago Daily Times Dash - C4 - 310 BAD WEEK (4) was tightened and lost ground in the early stages. Into the bend ANOTHER FORTUNE (2) was badly dragged down and ran outwards causing a severe check to HOMEBUSH SLINKY (3) with this pair losing their chances. BAD WEEK and LOTS OF BEERSIES (5) were both forced wide in this incident. ANOTHER FORTUNE and HOMEBUSH SLINKY were both referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of any abnormality.
Race 11 Silk Stockings Sprint - SPEC - 310 EL GRAND SHADOW (4) was very slow to jump. NO BRO (6) and OPAWA STRETCH (5) were tightened into the bend when racing in close quarters. EL GRAND SHADOW ran very wide into the bend.
Race 12 Racing Again Tuesday 20th October - C4/5 - 310 NO LEAF CLOVER (2) was a shade slow to jump. MICKEY TEE (9) was tightened into the bend and lost ground after DIZZY STATE (6) had run inwards. TELL THE BOYS (7) and HOMEBUSH ROCKY (3) came together on the bend with TELL THE BOYS losing ground. MICKEY TEE shifted wide on the home turn pushing AIR EXPRESS (8) wider on the track. Early in the home straight NO LEAF CLOVER lost momentum when checking outwards off the heels of HOMEBUSH ROCKY.
