Track: Good The track was presented in softer condition than usual and some remedial work was required early in the programme to ensure the developing holes were filled in. After a change to the grooming equipment being used, this was achieved and the meeting proceeded smoothly from there.

Health and Safety comment: Nil

Judicial report: YOU'RE SO FREE which was stood down for 28 days with a gracilus muscle injury after racing at Palmerston North on 21.09.15, was today presented for rexamination by the Vet under Rule 81.5 and under Rule 81.6, the original stand down was rescinded and YOU'RE SO FREE is now cleared to race. The Wanganui Clubs Assisstant Curator Josh Richardson was issued with a warning in relation to his use of offensive language towards the Stewards and advised that his conduct is unacceptable and will not be tolerated in the future.

Race 1	ABSOLUTELY ELECTRICAL C0 - C0 - 305	BANSHEE BOY and CAWBOURNE SATIN were slow to begin losing two lengths. BIGTIME OCKA and SAMMY BAXTER were checked going into the bend and again on the bend and they went back to the rear. SAMMY BAXTER was referred to the Vet for assessment and found to have a dislocated toe.
Race 2	KEENAN CONCRETE C0 - C0 - 305	PACIFIC SUNRISE, APOLLO BAXTER and LEGGERA ROYAL were slow to begin losing three lengths. JOEY BAXTER checked off the back of PRINCELY COUNT going into the bend and he went back to last and finished in that position. ALLEGRO DASHER and LEGGERA ROYAL bumped together entering the home straight and became briefly unbalanced but recovered to finish in 2nd and 3rd places.
Race 3	ADEPT ACCOUNTANTS C0 - C0 - 520	CAWBOURNE PAWS was slow to begin losing three lengths. TANK'S ROB and FEEL THE FORCE bumped together when the start was made and settled back. CAWBOURNE PAWS, TANK'S ROB and FEEL THE FORCE bumped together going into the first bend and lost three lengths. CAWBOURNE PAWS and TANK'S ROB jostled for some distance going into the back straight and they lost momentum.
Race 4	J P PRINT C0 - C0 - 305	OUR MYSTRO shifted in from the start and checked NO MORE MARMITE and KINETIC ASSASIN and they lost ground and settled back. CAWBOURNE BRAE checked off the back of OUR MYSTRO going into the bend and went back onto REPEAT VISIT which went back to the rear and never recovered. REPEAT VISIT and NO MORE MARMITE bumped together on the home turn and were both unbalanced and stayed back to finish in the last two places.
Race 5	LIQUORLAND WANGANUI C1 - C1 - 305	HAPPY WIFE shifted out from the start and hampered LORD DE AIR and DOWNGRADE KING which both lost ground. JOBS RITE shifted in from the start and tightened FIVE KAY LEG and ANOTHER COVER and they settled back. WORKING PIZZAZ shifted out going into the bend and bumped with DOWNGRADE KING and lost two lengths and she then shifted out on the bend and raced very wide into the final straight and finished in last place.
Race 6	THE ROCK 95.2FM C1 - C1 - 305	GUMMY GUMPSTA settled back and then raced wide throughout covering extra ground and he finished in 2nd last place.
Race 7	WANGANUI CHRONICLE C1 Ht1 - C1q - 520 Heat 1	ALAMEIN JUDE shifted out from the start and bumped LENA ALLEN and this set up a chain reaction of bumping which also involved MCJOPSON and OPAWA CASSIDY and they were all hampered losing some momentum. CAWBOURNE CLOVER checked over the heels of HOMEBUSH NAKI going into the first bend and lost momentum for a short distance.
Race 8	AON CPF C1 Ht2 - C1q - 520 Heat 2	All clear.
Race 9	FIRST SECURITY C1 Ht3 - C1q - 520 Heat 3	FAST RIGBY shifted in going to the first corner and tightened SILVER TOKAAM onto COLD TURKEY and they were both checked and went back to the rear. COLD TURKEY recovered the best of the two and made up ground to finish in 4th place.
Race 10	FIVE STAR KENNELS AND RUNS C1 Ht4 - C1q - 520 Heat 4	When the start was made, a rake used for grooming in front of the boxes, was against the side of the boxes on the outside and fell down when the lids opened. Before authorisation for payment was given, the films of the start were viewed and in the opinion of the Steward in charge, the incident had no affect on the result of the race and the all clear to pay was given. The film did not conclusively show that the rake had made contact with the dog jumping from box 8 and the dog was unaffected. The starter was spoken to advisedly and reminded of his obligations to ensure that all equipment is clear of the boxes. The race was all clear.
Race 11	PALAMOUNTAINS SCIENTIFIC NUTRITION C1 - C1 - 305	OPEHU FLYER and TAKEAWAY bumped together on the bend and they were both unbalanced briefly and lost ground. TAKEAWAY recovered quickly and made up ground to finish in 2nd place.
Race 12	VETS ON CARLTON C1 - C1 - 305	HOMEBUSH LUCIFER began awkwardlly losing two lengths and settled at the rear. BOSTON THUNDER was awkwardly positioned between MISS RAZZ and BITA BANTA going into the bend and was eventually unable to hold his position and went back to last where he stayed until the finish.
Race 13	Non Tote - Tier 2 - 305	All clear.
Race 14	Non Tote - Tier 2 - 305	BLACK MAGIC ROCK came out of box 3 at an acute angle and went under CAWBOURNE ROMAN which ended up straddled on the back of BLACK MAGIC ROCK and they both lost all chance. As this tendency to shift in abruptly from the start has been occurring for several starts, the dog is required to complete a satisfactory trial under Rule 80.1 before next starting in a race. BIGTIME CHIP and ANOTHER RULE came together and were checked going into the bend and they both lost ground.
