Into the turn WAR CLOAK was tightened between PATCHWORK ALICE and SMOKING MARLEY and shifted ground outwards severely checking OPAWA EXPRESS who stumbled and lost all chance. On the turn WALLY BAXTER became unbalanced and lost momentum when shifting ground inwards and making firm contact with SMOKING MARLEY. |
| Race 3 | SGRC $26 FIVE WIRE MUZZLE STAKES - C1 - 390 | QUIN BAXTER jumped awkwardly and lost momentum. In the run to the turn JOYNER KERSEE shifted ground inwards checking SAILORS COLLAR. Into the turn JOYNER KERSEE continued to run inwards tightening EBONY FANCY and also NO MORE BEERSIES. The trailing SAILORS COLLAR was forced to check outwards off the heels of NO MORE BEERSIE and ran wide on the turn and in the straight. |
| Race 4 | SOUTHLAND & OTAGO PHOTO FINISH - C0 - 457 | ANOTHER VESPA was slow to jump and then tightened when LICK IT UP shifted ground inwards. Into the turn LICK IT UP ran outwards checking NO TINKERBELL. On the turn OPAWA MINSTREL was dictated outwards by OPAWA BUCKS EYE and in turn OPAWA PEACHES was also pushed wide on the track. Short of the finishing line OPAWA BUCKS EYE when attaining the lead turned her head inwards for several strides looking at the runner on her inner and took her eyes off the lure. OPAWA BUCKS EYE was subject to a post race veterinary examination in accordance with Rule 79.2 with the greyhound cleared of injury. Co-trainer Mr R Wales was shown a replay of the race and accepted the greyhound had turned her head and in accordance with Rule 79.1.b Stewards suspended OPAWA BUCKS EYE for 28 days for failing to pursue and required the greyhound to complete a Satisfactory Trial. |

On the turn ALL ABOUT ECHO checked off the heels of ABRASADOR. |

KAREN'S MAGIC was held up prior to the home straight and through the early stages of the run home. |

In the run to the turn CAWBOURNE WAR bumped of JESSIE SURFS and lost momentum, with BIRCHBROOK and ANOTHER MESSAGE also bumping and losing ground. Into the turn DIRK THE JERK ran outwards checking off JESSIE SURFS. In the straight DIRK THE JERK ran wide on the track. |

Into the turn BUSINESS AFFAIR pushed outwards checking HUMAN INSTINCT, and HOMEBUSH PAIGE checked outwards off the heels of BOTANY BLAKE. Into the straight HUMAN INSTINCT when improving along the rail bumped HOMEBUSH PAIGE and lost momentum. |

In the home straight CAWBOURNE DANIAL ran inwards with ANOTHER JAMIE striking the rear of that dog and falling. ANOTHER JAMIE regained his feet to finish the race a long last and was subject to a veterinary check which revealed no injury. |
