| Race 1 | Super Pets Dash - C1 - 295 | LIGNITE GIRL (6) was very slow to begin. DEFINER (7) shifted inwards in the early stages and checked CANDYBOY (4) who lost ground and hampered MIDNIGHT SPRITE (3). Racing into the bend CAWBOURNE TICK (2) and DEFINER were both checked by PETRA HAKA (8) who was shifting inwards. This resulted in CAWBOURNE TICK losing its chance and DEFINER blundering and losing momentum. CANDYBOY also had to check outwards at this time. When questioned in regards to the improved performance of the winner COSMIC CHESLEA (1), trainers M and P Binnie stated that the bitch had suffered severe interference in its most recent starts and today from its handy draw was able to dictate its own terms in front. |
| Race 2 | Happy 85th Birthday Ray Anderson Stakes - C1 - 520 | Both SKILLZ TAYLOR (3) and KNOW THANKS (5) were slow to begin. HOMEBUSH NAKI (4) shifted inwards in the early stages and bumped with BLACK SAILS (2). HOMEBUSH NAKI was then hampered and lost ground when placed in restricted room between BLACK SAILS and GOLDSTAR ROSIE (7). As a result of this the following SKILLZ TAYLOR had to steady which caused a check to KNOW CLOWN (1). OAK SPUR (8) was also inconvenienced by being taken wider on the track. On the first bend BLACK SAILS attempted to shift outwards which in doing so caused HOMEBUSH NAKI to be buffeted over a considerable distance. GOLDSTAR ROSIE and OAK SPUR were held up at this time and had to shift ground in order to improve. A post race Veterinary examination of HOMEBUSH NAKI showed no apparent abnormalities. |
| Race 3 | Sozin's Comet At Stud Sprint - C1 - 295 | BLAZING HOT (5) was crowded in the early stages between BIGTIME TIP (4) and PEYTON SAWYER (6) who both shifted ground. |
| Race 4 | Glenbyre Tavern Dash - C1 - 295 | EUG THE SCROOGE (6), BRANDISH (4) and MORNING GYPSY (8) all came together in the early stages. UNO JAMES (2) shifted outwards near the bend taking both BRANDISH and MORNING GYPSY over extra ground. THRILLING ECHO (3) checked outwards and away from the heels of ADJUDICATOR (5) when crossed racing into the bend causing HOORAY FOR HAZEL (1) to be held up for a short distance. THRILLING ECHO then shifted inwards on the final bend causing EUG THE SCROOGE to become placed in restricted room near the rail and lose ground. When questioned regarding the improved performance of the winning ADJUDICATOR co-trainer S Evans reported the dog had gained an interference free run and been advantaged through dropping back in grade today. |
| Race 5 | DogZone Stakes - C1 - 520 | KNOW ENERGY (8) and RANGITATA RAIDER (6) were slow to begin. JINJA BILLY (5) shifted inwards in the early stages checking both GOLDSTAR COCO (4) and OPAWA GAVIN (3). SPINE CHILLING (7) shifted inwards racing into the first bend shortening the stride of KNOW SCHOLAR (2) which was forced outwards off heels which in turn inconvenienced KNOW ENERGY and RANGITATA RAIDER. GOLDSTAR COCO was held up in the early stages of the run home. |
| Race 6 | Amber Cleaning Services Sprint - C1 - 295 | OUR JOHN (8) was very slow to begin. HARSESIS (5) shifted inwards in the early stages causing considerable interference to GIGANAIRE (4), DINERO ACTION (3), GRAYSON BLUE (2) and BIG JOHN CANON (1). DINERO ACTION attempted to shift outwards on the bend and in doing so made contact with the hind legs of HARSESIS who was dragged down and then collided with the improving BIG JOHN CANON. HARSESIS, DINERO ACTION, BIG JOHN CANON and GRAYSON BLUE all had their chances extinguished in consequence. OUR JOHN was also hampered in the incident. A post race Veterinary examination of HARSESIS revealed no apparent abnormalities. When questioned regarding the improved performance of the winning BELLWAVE, Trainer D Stapleton reported the dog had been advantaged through a drop back and gained an interference free run throughout. |
| Race 7 | Little Brown Jug Dash - C1 - 295 | KENNY'S COMET(10) was slow to begin. Racing into the bend KNOW FAULT (2) and FOXY BABE (4) were buffeted between TECHNIC (1) and GOLDSTAR CHYNA (5) causing both runners to lose ground. As a result of this FOXY BABE was contacted from behind by HAYLEY JAMES (6) and KYLA ROSE (7) and turned outwards causing significant interference to HAYLEY JAMES, KYLA ROSE , MALCY (8) and KENNY'S COMET who all lost ground. A Post race Veterinary examination of FOXY BABE revealed no apparent abnormalities. |
| Race 8 | Garrard's Horse And Hound Stakes - C1 - 520 | OPAWA GUMISIE (8) shifted inwards in the early stages and checked INFERNAL MAJESTY (9), KNOW LAUGHING (5), CRYSTAL FLAME (7) and KNOW STYLE (3). KNOW LAUGHING then shifted outwards near the first bend and took OPAWA GUMISIE wider on the track. OPAWA GUMISIE was held up entering the final bend when placed in restricted room between CRYSTAL FLAME and KNOW LAUGHING. |
| Race 9 | Shirley Vet Clinic Sprint - C1 - 295 | TOKEN MUSCLES (4) was a late scratching at 1.55 pm on Veterinary advice. OHOKA STRIKA (3) was slow to begin. CAR BOOTLE (7) shifted inwards in the early stages and bumped with MEMPHIS GIRL (6) who was taken inwards onto MR NOVEMBER (5). TILT (2) galloped on the hind legs on ZULU DEB (9) racing into the bend with both dogs losing ground. In consequence to this MR NOVEMBER shifted outwards taking MEMPHIS GIRL over extra ground. |
| Race 10 | N.Z. Racing Series Novice Final - NZRSf - 520 | SOLSTICE (2) and WITH PRIDE (3) jostled in the early stages. SOLSTICE and OPAWA KENDAL (5) both lost ground near the first bend when crowded for racing room to the inside of OPAWA BORN (6). WHAT I LIKE (8) shifted inwards entering the bend and made contact with IDOL LEANNE (4) who blundered and lost ground and ran wide. OPAWA KENDAL and OPAWA BORN bumped on the first bend. |
| Race 11 | C.T.V. Dash - C1 - 295 | OHOKA TOO SOON (2) was slow to begin. MAX BRAINSTRAIN (4) had to briefly check in the early stages when crowded to the inside of EL GRAND SHADOW (8). |
| Race 12 | Protexin Sprint - C1 - 295 | PAGANI (7) and ROYAL ACTION (6) bumped at the start. ARCHIES DIJON (5) shifted inwards at the start and made contact with SAM'S FLYIN NORM (4) and then DAD'S AMBITION (3) with both dogs being checked. ARCHIES DIJON and DAD'S AMBITION again made contact near the bend. PAGANI lost ground on the bend when awkwardly positioned between COLERIDGE JIM (8) and WILL EXCITE (1) which were shifting ground. PAGANI shifted outwards on the bend and bumped with ROYAL ACTION on several occasions. |
