Judicial report: GOLDSTAR ARCHIE (S & B Evans) was stood down for 28 days under Rule 79.1.b. after failing to pursue the lure in Race 2.

| Race 1 | Super Pets Dash - C0 - 295 | AVEDON JEETER (5) was very slow to jump with JOEY BAXTER (8) also settling well back. MANDI MAE (4) ran outwards in the back straight pushing SHANE MCBELL (7) wider. On the bend AVEDON JEETER checked outwards off the heels of SHANE MCBELL pushing JOEY BAXTER over extra ground. On the home turn ANOTHER CHARM (1) angled outwards in order to find clear room. MANDI MAE ran wide in the home straight. |
| Race 2 | I Pave Concrete Stakes - C0 - 520 | PRIVATE ACTION (3) was tightened in the early stages dropping to the rear after GOLDSTAR ARCHIE (5) and ESTER ACTION (4) has run inwards. OPAWA BUCKS EYE (7) ran outwards into the first bend pushing CRYSTAL FLAME (8) wider on the track. GOLDSTAR ARCHIE ran outwards and turned its head towards CAIRNELLA (6) on two occasions at the entrance to the back straight with CAIRNELLA having its chance extinguished. Both runners were checked and cleared by the vet. GOLDSTAR ARCHIE was stood down for 28 days and ordered to complete a satisfactory trial after breaching Rule 79.1.b. when failing to pursue the lure in this incident. On the home turn OPAWA BUCKS EYE received a check when racing to the outside of CRYSTAL FLAME. GOLDSTAR ARCHIE was held up for clear room when finishing quickly over the concluding stages. |
| Race 3 | Carol's T.A.B. Sprint - C0 - 295 | SPLITTIN' BUCKS (1), MAX BRAINSTRAIN (5) and HYDE BAXTER (8) were the last trio on jumping. SCREW AND BOLT (7) ran sharply inwards coming together with ROYAL ACTION (6) and checking MAX BRAINSTRAIN in the back straight. SCREW AND BOLT then pushed LIN BAXTER (4) down the track and then ran outwards with HYDE BAXTER making contact with its hind quarters. SCREW AND BOLT was checked and cleared by the vet post race. LIN BAXTER shifted up the track on the home turn pushing MAX BRAINSTRAIN over extra ground. |
| Race 4 | Power Farming Canterbury Dash - C0 - 295 | SOME EXCITMENT (9) was a clear last on jumping. CRONOS (1) ran outwards on dispatch. DALLAS BAXTER (3) and PRIVATE AGENDA (4) dropped to the rear in the early stages after tightening from outside runners. MAGIC GINA (6) was tightened and stumbled into the bend losing ground. CRONOS lost ground on the bend after DEFINITE (7) had crossed to the rail. In behind DALLAS BAXTER checked outwards off the heels of MAGIC GINA. The trailing PRIVATE AGENDA was checked in behind MAGIC GINA at this point. |
| Race 5 | Clarkson Sign Studio Distance - C0d - 645 | KNOW CLOWN (2) was last to jump. LENA ALLEN (7) became unbalanced in the early stages after receiving a check from CAN'T CATCH TIM (6) with GOLDSTAR PO (8) also being badly checked in this incident. OPAWA SHILOH (3) was tightened in the run to the first bend losing ground. OPAWA SHILOH lost further ground on that bend as ARCANE SABRE (4) improved to its inside and made contact with LENA ALLEN and AMBILIGHT (5) being pushed wide at this stage. OPAWA SHILOH finished a clear last and was referred to the vet for assessment with no abnormality detected. |
| Race 6 | Dave Robbie Photographer Dash - C2 - 295 | WILL EXCITE (1) and CHARLIE'S CHOICE (2) were a shade slow and then further hampered as BUDGIE RIGHT (3) ran inwards soon after the jump. CAWBOURNE DANIAL (7) was tightened for room in the early stages. MULBERRY BROOK (5) ran a touch wide on the home turn. |
| Race 7 | Happy Birthday Maree Smolenski Sprint - C2 - 295 | CABARITA (7) was a late scratching mid at 9.40am when found to be suffering from a spider bite. GO TOMMO (1) and CAR BOOTLE (8) were the last pair on settling. EARN ME SOME (2) was slightly inconvenienced as GOLDSTAR BOMBER (3) shifted inwards in the initial stages. GOLDSTAR BOMBER received a slight check into the bend and lost ground with OHOKA HOPE (5) and GO TOMMO being forced wide. CAR BOOTLE checked outwards off heels on the home turn and lost ground. |
| Race 8 | The Turf Bar Dash - C3 - 295 | KNOW CONTEST (4) was a shade slow to jump. RICK'S TREASURE (5) ran inwards in the back straight causing firstly OHOKA COBY (2) and LOTS OF BEERSIES (3) and then BELLWAVE (1) to all lose ground. GET READY FREDDY (7) then crossed to the rail on the bend checking RICK'S TREASURE which lost ground resulting in BELLWAVE and OHOKA COBY again receiving checks. LOTS OF BEERSIES, KNOW CONTEST and VINCENT GALLO (8) were all forced wide in this incident with VINCENT GALLO being knocked off balance and dropping to the rear. On the home turn OHOKA COBY ran outwards with VINCENT GALLO again receiving a check. HERSHY PIE (6) ran wide over the concluding stages. VINCENT GALLO was checked and cleared by the vet post race. |
| Race 9 | Mac Developments Distance - C0d - 645 | UGO FLASH (6) ran inwards in the early stages causing tightening to SUSAN JEWEL (5), GOLDSTAR COCO (4), LAGOON TWIST (3) and HIP HOP SOFIA (2). LAGOON TWIST checked outwards off heels on the first bend pushing SUSAN JEWEL wider on the track. |
| Race 10 | C.T.V. Sprint - C3 - 295 | HAMPDEN ON TAP (8) was badly checked and ABBAS JUNIOR (5) badly tightened and faltered into the bend when these dogs were racing in restricted room. ABBAS JUNIOR failed to complete the race and was referred to the vet for assessment and found to have suffered a fractured humerus. Soon after REPLAY (3) angled outwards checking PORKY PIG (7) and pushing FIREMANS GALAXY (6) over extra ground. |
| Race 11 | Protexin Sprint Final - C2f - 295 | THAT'S A WRAP (3) was a late scratching at kenneling suffering from diarrhoea. STRUGGLE IS REAL (5) was last to jump. KNOW FAVOURS (1) attempted to run outwards into the bend and in doing so came together with JINJA LUCA (2) and lost ground. JACK'S A JEWEL (9) made the home turn awkwardly when racing to the outside of JINJA LUCA which had shifted outwards with JACK'S A JEWEL losing some momentum. STRUGGLE IS REAL and KNOW FAVOURS both ran wide on the home turn. |
| Race 12 | christchurchgreyhounds.co.nz Dash - C3 - 295 | NO BRO (2) and NEDDY SEAGOON (3) were the last pair on settling. LITTLE MIDNIGHT (7) lost ground on the bend and ran inwards coming together with NO BRO. On the home turn SPIDER GIRL (4) appeared to clip the rail and lost momentum for a stride when attempting a marginal run to the inside of CAWBOURNE PEEJAY (1). SPIDER GIRL was checked and cleared by the vet post race. |
