Track: Good The track was well presented and the meeting proceeded smoothly apart from an electrical switch malfunction on the 520 metre boxes which caused the lids to open prematurely with the runners running over a circuit of the track and race two was abandoned. The faulty switch was quickly rectified and there were no further problems and the remainder of the 520 metre races were manually started as a precautionary measure.

Race 1	ABSOLUTELY ELECTRICAL C3/4 - C3/4 - 520	VICTORY BELLE was up in weight by 2.6 kilograms from the last start on 03.07.15 and this was an intentional increase. GOT AIR was the slowest to begin and settled back. TRIDENT was checked and shifted out going into the first corner and this resulted in RIKKI'S REBEL and COOL MARLOW being checked losing several lengths and all chance. COOL MARLOW went down behind in the incident and was classed as falling, was referred to the Vet for assessment and cleared of injury.
Race 2	HAPPY 75TH BRIAN HUNT C1Final - C1f - 520	The box lids opened prematurely as soon as the green light was switched on and the field raced for the full distance plus before being captured and the race was abandoned. It was found that a faulty switch caused the boxes to open and a new one was installed prior to the next 520 metre race.
Race 3	THE ROCK 95.2FM C4/5 - C4/5 - 305	WINNING IS EASY and BIG BOY DENO jostled together going to the first corner and then BLUE AND CURLY shifted in and they were checked with BIG BOY DENO the most affected and he went back to the rear. WINNING IS EASY went off stride on the bend and went quickly back through the field and finished a long last. HOMEBUSH OLIVE and BIGTIME PULSE were both hampered in the incident and lost ground. WINNING IS EASY was referred to the Vet for assessment and found to have a leg injury.
Race 4	ADEPT ACCOUNTANTS C4/5 - C4/5 - 305	CAWBOURNE BUTTSY was slow away from the boxes losing three lengths and he then raced wide on the bend covering extra ground and finished in 6th place. HOMESTEAD KELSO settled back and then lost further ground going into the bend and stayed back to finish in last place. SWEET AS BRO, JAY LOW and NGAURUHOE bumped together for a short distance soon after the start and they were briefly unbalanced.
Race 5	MTA Wanganui Stayers Ht1 (Group 2) - C2dq - 755 Heat 1	All clear.
Race 6	MTA Wanganui Stayers Ht2 (Group 2) - C2dq - 755 Heat 2	FLYING TWIST led to the first corner but then began to drift back through the field and she eventually finished several lengths last and was referred to the Vet for assessment and found to have a gracilis muscle injury.
Race 7	FIRST SECURITY Wanganui Cup Ht1 (Group 1) - C5q - 520 Heat 1	BOSTON HEART shifted in from the start and bumped with THRILLING STYLE which in turn bumped with ZIPPING SONNY and all three loost momentum briefly. BOSTON HEART settled back and was then checked going into the first bend and again entering the back straight and he never recovered and stayed back to finish at the rear.
Race 8	FIRST SECURITY Wanganui Cup Ht2 (Group 1) - C5q - 520 Heat 2	SMASH ALLEGRO shifted out slightly going into the first bend and HOMEBUSH CHOPPER was checked losing ground. A short distance further on, HOMEBUSH CHOPPER was tightened between ROYAL RUNNER and JOE JOE and he went back to the rear and stayed there for the remainder of the race.
Race 9	FIRST SECURITY Wanganui Cup HT3 (Group 1) - C5q - 520 Heat 3	CAWBOURNE CROUCH was slow to begin losing a length. WINSOME JENNY shifted in going into the first corner which caused crowding and resulted in NIGHT PEARL and IZZEY BALE both falling and CAWBOURNE CROUCH and HOMEBUSH HOWARD being severely checked and losing all chance. NIGHT PEARL, IZZEY BALE and CAWBOURNE CROUCH were referred to the Vet for assessment and NIGHT PEARL was found to have general soreness. IZZEY BALE was cleared of injury and CAWBOURNE CROUCH suffered from toe joint pain.
Race 10	FIRST SECURITY Wanganui Cup Ht 4 (Group 1) - C5q - 520 Heat 4	CAN'T CATCH TIM was checked soon after the start and settled at the rear but did make up ground over the final stages and finished in 4th place. SPUD MISSILE and TIMMY TRUMPET collided on the first corner and were briefly unbalanced losing a length. CAWBOURNE MATTY shifted in going into the first bend and brushed against the rail losing momentum for a short distance.
Race 11	LIQUORLAND WANGANUI C4 - C4 - 305	ALLEGRO CHASER shifted in from the start and hampered SHINZIGZAG which lost ground and settled back. HOMEBUSH CHURRO and TONGARIRO were both slow to jump from the boxes and settled back where they stayed throughout the race.
Race 12	PALAMOUNTAINS SCIENTIFIC NUTRITION C4 - C4 - 305	WINFIELD WINTER began awkwardly losing four lengths and all chance and she finished in 2nd last place. OPAWA SHAIDEN was checked going into the bend when ALLEGRO MASTER moved through on her inside and brushed against her causing her to be unbalanced and OPAWA SHAIDEN went back to the rear and stayed there until the finish.
