Judicial report: It was established that the stand down for ZORBA THE GREEK from the Christchurch GRC meeting of 23 July was originally entered incorrectly due to a mistaken date of scratching being communicated to Stewards on the day. After making inquiries it was confirmed that the stand down should have expired on 27 July, therefore the original stand down was amended and the dog permitted to start today.

Race 1	Otago First4 Maiden Stakes - C0 - 545	ROYAL ACTION (1) was slow to jump. ESTER ACTION (9) lost ground at the start after OPAWA BUCKS EYE (4) ran outwards sharply. Into the first bend SOUTHERN LIGHTS (2) ran outwards and galloped on the hind quarters of OPAWA SPICE (8). In behind ESTER ACTION dragged SOUTHERN LIGHTS down for a stride. UNO MARGUERITE (6) was forced wide in this incident. Shortly after OPAWA SPICE was checked by ROYAL ACTION losing more ground. ROYAL ACTION and SOUTHERN LIGHTS jostled for some distance in the back straight. OPAWA SPICE was again checked at the end of the back straight. SOUTHERN LIGHTS and OPAWA SPICE were both sent for veterinary assessment. SOUTHERN LIGHTS was cleared but OPAWA SPICE was found to have suffered a spike wound.
Race 2	www.greyhoundsaspets.org.nz - C0 - 310	HARDEN FASTER (1) and CRYSTAL FLAME (4) were the last pair to jump. TATUM BAXTER (3) checked outwards off heels into the bend pushing ANOTHER RUSS (5) wider on the track. MAIA BAXTER (10) lost momentum when held up on the bend in behind ANOTHER RUSS which received a slight check at this stage.
Race 3	Dave Robbie Photographer Sprint - C0 - 310	BRINDEE'S BRO (2), CLOUDY NOIR (5) and APOLLO KING (7) were the last trio on settling. NO TINKERBELL (3) ran outwards in the back straight checking LIN BAXTER (4) and then colliding with MORNING GYPSY (8). MORNING GYPSY was checked as BRINDEE'S BRO ran outwards into the bend with MORNING GYPSY losing ground. NO TINKERBELLE shifted up the track in the home straight pushing APOLLO KING wider.
Race 4	St Kilda Veterinary Centre Stakes - C1 - 310	PUKEKO THUNDER (2) and ANOTHER JAMIE (3) were the last pair into stride. MAMALULU (4) ran inwards in the back straight checking PUKEKO THUNDER. Into the bend CAWBOURNE DOZER (7) ran inwards pushing MAMALULU on to the rail for a stride. CAWBOURNE DOZER was then turned sideways and lost its chance after SMASH EASY (6) had angled inwards with ANOTHER JAMIE receiving a check in behind CAWBOURNE DOZER and running outwards colliding with SALLY (8). The trailing PUKEKO THUNDER was forced wide around these runners. CAWBOURNE DOZER was referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of injury.
Race 5	Bramwell Scaffolding Stakes - C1 - 545	SUBTERFUGE (7) was tightened in the run to the first bend. TILT (4) ran outwards into the first bend colliding with PUKEKO PROWLER (6) and GOLDSTAR PO (8).
Race 6	Keyosk Service Bar Sprint - C2 - 545	PUKEKO BOLT (5) was last to jump. KNOW SMIGGLE (10) shifted outwards into the first bend contacting KNOW NEGLECT (6) which was unbalanced for a stride. KNOW LAUGHING (9) then checked off these runners losing ground. AMBILIGHT (4) and KNOW ANSWER (8) were both forced a touch wide as a result. PUKEKO BOLT checked off the heels of KNOW ANSWER into the back straight and forced KNOW LAUGHING wider on the track. AMBILIGHT was tightened at the end of the back straight.
Race 7	Brocklebanks Dry Cleaners Sprint - C1 - 310	SAL'S BABE (4) dropped to the rear in the early stages after being tightened between HOMEBUSH SPIKE (3) and HUMAN INSTINCT (5). HOMEBUSH SPIKE was placed in restricted quarters into the bend and lost ground. BRANDISH (9) ran wide into the first bend. BELLA GRACE (2) was checked on the bend as OPAWA DARCEE (6) crossed to the rail with the trailing GLENN IS GOODSEY (1) inconvenienced. BELLA GRACE and PUKEKO WARRIOR (8) came together on the home turn. HUMAN INSTINCT was checked on the home turn. HOMEBUSH SPIKE ran wide on the home turn.
Race 8	Green Island Barber Sprint - C2 - 310	WHITEY'S GONE (5) ran outwards into the bend pushing OPAWA LAZ (6) and HOMEBUSH BUCK (7) wider on the track. Closer in KINGMAN (4) and ANOTHER JEWEL (3) came together. FIREMANS GALAXY (8) raced wide on the home turn.
Race 9	Otago Daily Times Sprint - C2 - 310	KNOW SALUTE (7) was last on settling. ADJUDICATOR (6) ran inwards checking ROADWORKS (4) and CHAIMBO (2) in the early stages. CHAIMBO was tightened in the back straight losing ground. ADJUDICATOR was checked on the bend and pushed OPAWA HOG (1) over extra ground. On the bend MISS SOFTY (3) was badly dragged down by ROADWORKS and lost its chance. The trailing HOMEBUSH SLINKY (8) was unable to avoid MISS SOFTY and was also badly checked. OPAWA HOG and ADJUDICATOR came together on the home turn. HOMEBUSH SLINKY ran outwards on the home turn checking CHAIMBO. MISS SOFTY was referred to the vet for assessment and found to be free of injury.
Race 10	Brian Bagley Driver Licensing Stakes - C2/3 - 545	OPAWA SAM (1) was dragged down for a stride into the first bend and ran outwards pushing GOLDSTAR ROSIE (8) wider on the track. EXPECT DELAY (6) and GOLDSTAR JUNIOR (7) came together wider on the track. OPAWA KENDAL (5) was checked at the end of the back straight when attempting a marginal run between KINLOCH ACTION (3) and GOLDSTAR ROSIE.
Race 11	Blasting and Coating Services Stakes - C4 - 545	This race was delayed by two minutes at the request of the TAB. ZIPPING SONNY (5) and KNOW HERO (7) were the last pair on jumping. WILLIS (6) received a slight check in the early stages. ANDREA (4) shifted outwards into the first bend pushing KNOW HERO wider. JEWEL EAGLE (1) and JEMIMA TEE (3) came together on the first bend when vying for the lead. In behind ALBIE JAY (2) and OPAWA MICHELLE (8) bumped for a stride. WILLIS raced wide in the back straight and continued on a wide path for the remainder of the race. ZIPPING SONNY lost momentum off the heels of JEWEL EAGLE on the home turn.
Race 12	Speedprint Shop Sprint - C3 - 310	This race was delayed at the request of Raceday Control so as not to clash with a galloping race from Australia. COSTING MONEY (1) was very slow to jump. GOLDSTAR MAGIC (3) lost ground in the early stages after ducking outwards and colliding with GOLDSTAR BOMBER (4). GIGANAIRE (5) and THRILLING SPELL (7) came together for a stride in the back straight. GOLDSTAR MAGIC ran inwards in the back straight checking COSTING MONEY which struck the rail and lost ground. THRILLING SPELL ran wide around the bend. In the straight LOTS OF BEERSIES (8) shifted up the track in search of clear racing room. COSTING MONEY was cleared of any abnormality after being assessed by the raceday vet.
Race 13	St Kilda Veterinary Centre Sprint - C4 - 310	IDOL GIRL (2) and OPAWA OPAL (7) were the last pair on jumping. IDOL GIRL ran outwards colliding with OPAWA OPAL in the back straight. This pair were then dictated inwards by HOMEBUSH CHOPPER (4). IDOL GIRL ran outwards on the home turn checking OPAWA OPAL and SPRINKLES (8) when this trio were racing at the rear. ANOTHER FORTUNE (6) raced wide in the home straight.
Race 14	Racing Again Tuesday 4th August - C5 - 310	ZORBA THE GREEK (2) was last to jump. HOMEBUSH ROCKY (9) checked wide into the bend when racing to the outside of CAWBOURNE JELLY (4).
