Judicial report: (1.) KNOW DECISION (G Cleeve) was withdrawn from the C1 520m Final prior to the box draw when found to be suffering from water diabetes following its win in the heat last Tuesday. A veterinary certificate to this effect was presented to the Stewards. (2.) Co-trainer R Casey was fined $50 after being late to present CANDYBOY (Race 7) for kennelling. (3.) Co-trainer S Evans advised Stewards that GENERAL ACTION (a finalist in the NZ Stayers Cup on 3 July 2015) collapsed and died following a gallop at his property this morning. (4.) BIRCHBROOK (Race 9) is required to complete a satisfactory box trial.

Race 1	christchurchgreyhounds.co.nz Sprint - C1 - 295	EUG THE SCROOGE (3) and OHOKA JOKA (7) were slow to begin. EUG THE SCROOGE and BELFAST EEJIT (4) came together in the early stages. COLERIDGE JIM (6) checked off the heels of CAR BOOTLE (8) racing into the first bend. AIR EXPRESS (1) was held up rounding the bend behind GOLDSTAR MAGIC (2) and CAR BOOTLE resulting in the trailing EUG THE SCROOGE becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of AIR EXPRESS. EUG THE SCROOGE then shifted outwards colliding with COLERIDGE JIM. OHOKA JOKA and BELFAST EEJIT were also checked in this incident. AIR EXPRESS and CAR BOOTLE came together in the run home. COLERIDGE JIM was examined by the Vet following the race and cleared of injury.
Race 2	The Turf Bar Dash - C1 - 295	ANOTHER KEY (3) was very slow to jump. VITO BAXTER (4) shifted inwards racing along the back straight checking TERRA MONDO (2) and HAYLEY JAMES (1) with HAYLEY JAMES losing several lengths. Racing into the first bend CHARLIE NEXT BOY (6) became awkwardly placed on the heels of TAYLA'S FRIEND (5) and shifted outwards hampering TOKEN MUSCLES (7) and MR. NOVEMBER (8). HAYLEY JAMES checked off the heels of CHARLIE NEXT BOY shortly after. TOKEN MUSCLES and MR. NOVEMBER collided rounding the bend. CHARLIE NEXT BOY shifted outwards in the run home checking TOKEN MUSCLES. HAYLEY JAMES was also forced wider and came together with MR. NOVEMBER.
Race 3	Greyhounds As Pets Stakes - C1 - 520	OPAWA JED (3) was slow in the early stages. MOBILIZE (4) checked off the heels of LONG STOCKINGS (8) racing into the first bend. Rounding the first bend SOLSTICE (6) and KIRKHAM HARVEY (7) collided. Shortly after KNOW SCHOLAR (2) checked off the heels of SOLSTICE (6) and shifted outwards checking LONG STOCKINGS and MOBILIZE. Rounding the final bend KIRKHAM HARVEY and LONG STOCKINGS came together with KNOW SCHOLAR also being checked. KIRKHAM HARVEY was examined by the Vet following the race and cleared of injury.
Race 4	Shirley Vet Clinic Sprint - C1 - 295	TOO MUCH REBEL (2) and LITTLE ARTHUR (3) were slow to begin. HOMEBUSH FINE (6) shifted inwards in the run to the first bend tightening BIGTIME TIP (5). UNO SHELLEY (1) became awkwardly placed close to the rail approaching the first bend. MALCY (4) and HOMEBUSH FINE came together late in the run home. Trainer J Tanner advised Stewards that she would no longer persevere with LITTLE ARTHUR as a racing proposition. On reviewing the replays it was observed that the door on the back of box 5 had not fully closed. Upon investigation it was determined that a build up of sand was the cause of the problem with this being rectified prior to the start of the next sprint race.
Race 5	Active Electrical Stakes - C1 - 520	ANOTHER LIZ (3) was a late scratching at kennelling after suffering a tail injury. BENJAMIN BLACK (7) was slow to begin. OPAWA EXTREME (6) shifted outwards at the start and collided with IDOL LEANNE (8). Entering the back straight IDOL LEANNE checked off the heels of OPAWA EXTREME.
Race 6	Clarkson Sign Studio Dash - C1 - 295	OUR JOHN (4) and OHOKA TOO SOON (7) were slow to begin. BUSINESS REVIEW (8) and VERBATIM (5) shifted down the track approaching the first bend crowding TELL THE BOYS (3) and HOMEBUSH RILEY (2). WOOLY WHATSIT (6) and DREAM LARGE (1) came together rounding the bend with WOOLY WHATSIT becoming unbalanced and losing momentum. The trailing VERBATIM, TELL THE BOYS and OUR JOHN were all checked by WOOLY WHATSIT as a result. VERBATIM and TELL THE BOYS came together on the final bend. WOOLY WHATSIT, TELL THE BOYS and VERBATIM were all examined by the Vet following the race and cleared of injury.
Race 7	C.T.V. Sprint - C1 - 295	JACK'S A JEWEL (3) shifted outwards in the early stages and came together with PEYTON SAWYER (4) and WRINKLES (5). Racing into the first bend WRINKLES was checked by RANGITATA RAIDER (2) which shifted outwards. BLAZING HOT (6) and CAWBOURNE PIRATE (7) came together rounding the bend. BOTANY ZENVO (8) came together with JACK'S A JEWEL early in the run home. PEYTON SAWYER and BLAZING HOT bumped over the concluding stages.
Race 8	Amber Cleaning Services Dash - C1 - 295	KNOW ENERGY (2) was slow to begin. LAUDABLE (4) and TOKEN JUMP (1) were tightened racing into the first bend by KATIE ATE IT (8) and ANOTHER CHARMER (6). KATIE ATE IT checked off the heels of TOKEN JUMP shortly after. KATIE ATE IT and ANOTHER CHARMER again came together rounding the bend.
Race 9	Coalgate Tavern Stakes Final - C1f - 520	FIORELLI MICHA (1) and KNOW JINX (3) collided in the early stages. KNOW NEGLECT (5) and KNOW ANSWER (6) also came together at the start. KNOW NEGLECT and COME ON DOLLY (8) bumped racing into the first bend. KNOW JINX and COME ON DOLLY collided rounding the first bend with the trailing KNOW ANSWER also being checked. Leaving the back straight FIORELLI MICHA checked off the heels of COME ON DOLLY and checked KNOW ANSWER. Stewards withheld the authorisation of dividends until they had reviewed the start in relation to BIRCHBROOK turning in the boxes and exiting through the back door of the boxes just prior to the start being effected. After viewing the replays and hearing from Starter J Smith, Acting under Rule 76.9 Stewards were satisfied that BIRCHBROOK had been denied a fair start and accordingly BIRCHBROOK was declared a non runner. BIRCHBROOK is required to complete a satisfactory box trial prior to resuming. NICKY NOIR was found to be suffering from Myoglobinuria following this race.
Race 10	Super Pets Sprint Final - C1f - 295	GO TOMMO (3) and KNOW STRUGGLE (5) were slow to begin. KENNY'S COMET (7) and RICK'S TREASURE (8) came together at the start. KENNY'S COMET, MUST DESIRE (4) and STRUGGLE IS REAL (2) collided in the early stages. MUST DESIRE and GO TOMMO bumped approaching the first bend. Racing into the first bend RICK'S TREASURE shifted inwards checking KENNY'S COMET, STRUGGLE IS REAL and MUST DESIRE. GO TOMMO and RICK'S TREASURE collided on several occasions rounding the bend and in the early stages of the run home. GO TOMMO then checked off the heels of RICK'S TREASURE and shifted outwards coming together with STRUGGLE IS REAL. RICK'S TREASURE was examined by the Vet following the race and cleared of injury.
Race 11	Chris & Lisa Earl Stakes - C1 - 520	OPAWA GRUNTER (7) shifted down the track in the early stages checking OPAWA LOI (9) and JINJA FANTASY (4). CHIPPA LATA (6) shifted inwards racing into the first bend hampering MEGA SURGE (2) with MEGA SURGE then shifting outwards inconveniencing OPAWA GRUNTER. Racing into the first bend TODDY'S A FLYER, JINJA FANTASY and OPAWA LOI collided with TODDY'S A FLYER losing several lengths. TODDY'S A FLYER was examined by the Vet and found to have a hip support injury.
Race 12	Protexin Sprint - C1 - 295	REPLAY (3) and ARCHIES DIJON (4) came together at the start. MIDNIGHT SPRITE (6) shifted inwards in the early stages checking LACHIE JEWEL (2), MISS JOLT (5), ARCHIES DIJON and REPLAY. BAD WEEK (7) was tightened between HOMEBUSH SLINKY (8) and REPLAY rounding the bend. MISS JOLT and BAD WEEK collided rounding the bend with ARCHIES DIJON also being checked. ARCHIES DIJON was examined by the Vet following the race and cleared of injury. REPLAY fell at the lure and was also checked and cleared by the Vet.
