Incident Reports

Race Number Race Name Incident Report
Race 1 christchurchgreyhounds.co.nz Sprint - C3 - 295 HERSHEY PIE (4) and BILLY WEST (6) were crowded throughout the early stages when positioned between VAN GERWIN (3) and KYLA ROSE (8) with both dogs unable to improve their position in consequence. On the bend BILLY WEST (6) and KYLA ROSE (8), which had been forced to the rear of the field, made contact on several occasions which resulted in KYLA ROSE being checked and losing further ground. When questioned with regards to the improved performance of HOMEBUSH KELSO (1), kennel representative K McInerney explained the dog had been able to take advantage of a favourable box draw after drawing wider in it's previous races.
Race 2 Carol's T.A.B. Dash - C2 - 295 ANOTHER GROOM (8) shifted inwards nearing the bend which caused a considerable tightening to PREMIER PRINCE (7) who lost ground and checked KNOW CHEERS (9) and CEC DEVINE (4) . CEC DEVINE was held up on the final bend and for a short distance became awkwardly placed near the heels of FAIR CRUZIN (1).
Race 3 I Pave Concrete Sprint - C4 - 295 ZULU BRO (3) was crowded in the early stages between BOTANY WIN (2) and COLLECTING MONEY (4).
Race 4 David Emerson Consultancy Dash - C5 - 295 BUMP (2) was slow to begin. On the bend TIME SLAYER (7) was crowded and then received a bump when improving between QUESTION BALE (10) and SMASH THAT (6). Leaving the bend TIME SLAYER shifted inwards and checked QUESTION BALE (10) who lost momentum. In consequence to this the following JEWEL EAGLE (9) moved away from the heels of the slowing QUESTION BALE and bumped with SMASH THAT who was taken wider on the track.
Race 5 Christchurch Casino Dash - C3 - 295 KNOW FAVOURS (9) shifted inwards at the start and made contact with WHITEY'S GONE (2) who blundered. DEE (5) dictated EYREWELL HAWKE (4) inwards over the early stages with EYREWELL HAWKE then having its stride shortened when being crossed by ON THE LEVEL nearing the bend. Leaving the bend EYREWELL HAWKE shifted outwards and made contact with GOLDSTAR CHYNA (7) who was taken wider on the track. DEE and WHITEY'S GONE made contact on several occasions leaving the bend. A post race Veterinary examination of WHITEY'S GONE showed no apparent abnormalities.
Race 6 Flair Canterbury Laurels Heat 1 - R/Aq - 520 Heat 1 GOLDSTAR COCO (6) was slow to begin. Entering the back straight TINA (1) and HOMEBUSH PAIGE (4) came together which resulted in both dogs losing their momentum and some ground. Due to no back straight or head on films being available for this race the cause of this interference was unable to be determined. Leaving the back straight TINA was checked and lost ground when HOMEBUSH PAIGE shifted inwards. In consequence to this the trailing JEWEL APACHE (9) and GOLDSTAR COCO (6) were both checked and had to shift ground.
Race 7 Super Pets Garden City Classic Heat 1 - R/Aq - 520 Heat 1 CAWBOURNE CROUCH (4) shifted outwards in the early stages and crowded both LAGOON TWIST (6) and BRISEUR DE REVES (7). HOMEBUSH ROCKY (5) shifted inwards shortly after the start and made contact with UGO FLASH (2) who was turned outwards. Racing into the bend HOMEBUSH ROCKY became awkwardly placed near the heels of UGO FLASH and shifted outwards which caused LAGOON TWIST to be taken wider on the track. When questioned regarding the improved performance of BRISEUR DE REVES kennel representative P Seque explained that aside from gaining an advantageous run tonight the dogs performance generally improved when racing on the Addington surface.
Race 8 Flair Canterbury Laurels Heat 2 - R/Aq - 520 Heat 2 Prior to the first bend BIRCHBROOK (3) shifted outwards off the heels of HOMEBUSH FLYTE (5) which resulted in CAWBOURNE BRIGHT (6) being taken wider on the track. Entering the first bend LAGOON BELLE (7) shifted inwards and made contact with HOMEBUSH FLYTE who was checked and lost ground.
Race 9 Super Pets Garden City Classic Heat 2 - R/Aq - 520 Heat 2 Racing into the first bend MYSTIC ACTION (7) made contact with DYNA VIKKERS (4) with MYSTIC ACTION losing ground. Soon after DYNA VIKKERS shifted to a position on the rail which placed PLUTONIUM (3) in restricted room. PLUTONIUM lost ground as a result which caused checks to the following MYSTIC ACTION, KNOW HERO (1), CAN'T TEACH TIM (6), and HOMEBUSH BUCK (8). DYNA VIKKERS made contact with PUMA PANTS (5) when improving to the inside of that runner on the final bend.
Race 10 Kolorful Kanvas Sprint - C5 - 295 LITTLE REGUS (5) and WHEELCHAIR NORM (6) made contact in the early stages. ZORBA THE GREEK (4) and RED HOT FURY (2) jostled racing towards the first bend resulting in RED HOT FURY being turned outwards for several strides. On the bend RED HOT FURY shifted outwards abruptly away from the heels of WHEELCHAIR NORM and in doing so took GRAND APACHE (8) wide on the track. A post race Veterinary examination of HETFIELD (1) was requested when the dog fell at the lure however no apparent abnormalities were detected.
Race 11 Mac Development Stakes - C4/5 - 520 FAST ARCHER was crowded in the early stages between OPAWA NO EAR (3) and OPAWA STRETCH (7). IZZEY BALE (4) and DREAM COLLECTOR (6) were also taken wider in consequence. Entering the back straight FAST ARCHER, which was leading, weakened appreciably and whilst doing so received a check from the improving OPAWA NO EAR eventually finishing a considerable distance last. FAST ARCHER was referred to the Vet for assessment.
