Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: (1) Stewards along with the on-course veterinary surgeon, a club representative and a licensed trainer inspected the racing surface following the running of race 10 and although there were paw indentations evident in the track, there was no other visible evidence to suggest that the track was unsafe for racing. This information was relayed to the licenceholders and following discussions, the Stewards decided to proceed with the meeting. This resulted in the meeting officially being put back 2 races.(2) HOMEBUSH BUTTON (J McInerney) a starter in race 14, was not presented to race with this matter being opened, adjourned and referred to the Judicial Committee.

Race 1 Absolutely Electrical Co Ht1 - C0q - 305 Heat 1 BOTANY CHRIS was presented to race 2.6 kilograms below its last previous start on 9th February 2015, with kennel representative J.McInerney Jr advising that this decrease was intentional. CONSUMATE EASE was last to leave the boxes. ALLEGRO STYLE and QUIN BAXTER jostled for a short distance approaching the bend, with QUIN BAXTER being further hampered by the trailing BOTANY CHRIS which had improved onto that runners heels.
Race 2 Harrison Hire Master C0 Ht2 - C0q - 305 Heat 2 ANOTHER MISS jumped inwards abruptly from the boxes crowding ELUSIVE BABE and CAWBOURNE LEGS, with both runners losing ground and settling at the rear. GULLY FLAHERTY ran inwards sharply over the early stages contacting the hindquarters of PETITE JOY which was unbalanced. ANOTHER MISS was tightened for room entering the bend when between TATUM BAXTER and LILY MA'S SMOKING, both of which shifted ground. ELUSIVE BABE which trailed this trio was hampered and had run wide to avoid the heels of ANOTHER MISS.
Race 3 www.racingtips.co.nz C0 Ht3 - C0q - 305 Heat 3 NINA BAXTER jumped inwards from the start contacting the hindquarters of ALLEGRO TITLE which was unbalanced. NINA BAXTER then shifted outwards abruptly colliding with JOBS RITE which lost its footing momentarily. Shortly after the start, ANOTHER MESSAGE improved up onto the heels of NINA BAXTER which was dragged down, losing ground. ALLEGRO TITLE and JOBS RITE came together and bumped rounding the bend resulting in JOBS RITE becoming unbalanced and stumbling, losing several lengths. JOBS RITE was then further hampered when NINA BAXTER which had improved to its inside, contacted the heel of JOBS RITE.
Race 4 J P Print (Petone) C0 Ht4 - C0q - 305 Heat 4 PEAKNUCKLE shifted inwards from the start making firm contact with KENTARO BAXTER which lost ground. SEDGEBROOK CHARM ran inwards sharply from the boxes forcing SPRITE ON TIME into the line of PINK SHELLAC and BELK ROAD which were crowded. SEDGEBROOK CHARM continued its inward movement through the early stages contacting the hindquarters of GOODTIME LADY which was unbalanced. GOODTIME LADY ran outwards entering the home straight pushing ANOTHER CHARM wider on the track.
Race 5 Liquorland Wanganui C0 Ht5 - C0q - 305 Heat 5 ANOTHER CHARM went up with the lids at the start, losing ground. WATCH THAT GYPSY was slow to begin. NUI MAGIC was crowded shortly after the start between MAD MUSIC and SEDGEBROOK MAGIC, both of which shifted ground. NUI MAGIC was then crowded for room entering the bend between MAD MUSIC and PEAJAY PRINGLES which ran outwards. PEAJAY PRINGLES ran outwards rounding the bend pushing MAD MUSIC wider on the track.
Race 6 The Rock 95.2FM C1 - C1 - 305 ALLEGRO BOOM ran outwards through the early stages crowding KERRY LANE and BIGTIME REDFOO. Shortly after KERRY LANE ran inwards sharply across the heels of ALLEGRO BOOM, colliding with POPPA CONQUEST which was unbalanced. BIGTIME REDFOO ran inwards approaching the bend checking KERRY LANE and POPPA CONQUEST. Rounding the bend, POPPA CONQUEST faltered when free of interference. Hampered as a result was BLITZING FLYER which had to run wide to avoid the heels of POPPA CONQUEST. POPPA CONQUEST was subsequently referred to the Veterinarian for assessment.
Race 7 Wanganui Chronicle C1 - C1 - 305 HOMEBUSH ENVY was slow to begin. WHATU TRENDY shifted inwards approaching the bend resulting in severe crowding to CAWBOURNE BEAU, ACONAGUA and BIGTIME MOOLA which made heavy contact with the running rail. Shortly after ELITE DOSE ran inwards sharply checking WHATU TRENDY which was unbalanced, with ACONAGUA, CAWBOURNE BEAU and BIGTIME MOOLA being hampered when unable to avoid this runner. NOMINAL LILY which trailed the field, was unable to avoid heels shifting outwards abruptly and checking BIGTIME MOOLA and HOMEBUSH ENVY, both of which lost considerable ground. BIGTIME MOOLA was referred to the Veterinarian for assessment.
Race 8 AON CPF C1 Ht1 - C1q - 520 Heat 1 OPAWA JAY and GLAD'S APOPPING were slow to begin. DARK FAERYTALES and SKINNY ANKLES jostled rounding the first bend, with DARK FAERYTALES being further hampered when dragged down by ADDA BOY ZEKE which had improved up onto that runners heels.
Race 9 Wanganui Security C1 Ht 2 - C1q - 520 Heat 2 RIKKI'S REBEL was slow to begin. BOSTON SPIRIT appeared indifferent in its action entering the first bend and commenced to give ground, being distanced at the finish. BOSTON SPIRIT was referred to the Veterinarian for assessment.
Race 10 The Dogzone C1 Ht 3 - C1q - 520 Heat 3 KICK AND PASS ran inwards entering the first bend briefly crowding MERCEDES GOLD. CAROLINA MOON ran wide rounding the first bend. SPEEDY FEET when leading rounding the first bend, went off stride and faltered. SPEEDY FEET then appeared indifferent in its action for the remainder and failed to finish the event. SPEEDY FEET was referred to the Veterinarian for assessment. Entering the back straight KICK AND PASS went off stride and commenced to give ground, failing to finish the event. KICK AND PASS was referred to the Veterinarian for assessment. Following the race BENJI was referred to the Veterinarian for assessment. Race 11 Palamountains Scientific Nutrition C1 - C1 - 305 LAGOON FAME and MACGYVER RAMA came together and bumped on a number of occasions entering the bend. MAKING TIME shifted inwards entering the bend placing LAHAR and SERVE YA PURPOSE in restricted room. LAHAR shifted outwards off the heels of SERVE YA PURPOSE rounding the bend resulting in MACGYVER RAMA being checked.
Race 12 Indulge Skin Spa, Wanganui C1 - C1 - 305 ROSIE FOSI and BRILLIANT AVA were slow to begin. Entering the bend, HOMEBUSH PIPPI ran outwards abruptly off the heels of FOUND MY BERRIES contacting the hindquarters of BRILLIANT AVA which was unbalanced momentarily and checking CALAMITY SUE which lost ground.
Race 13 Non Tote - Tier 2 - 305 HOMEBUSH TITAN was slow to begin. HERMIONE BAXTER ran outwards entering the bend resulting in BOWMAN and FAIR TRADING being checked. Also hampered was the trailing HOMEBUSH TITAN which had to take evasive action to avoid the heels of FAIR TRADING.
Race 14 Non Tote - Tier 2 - 305 HOMEBUSH BUTTON was not presented to race with this matter being opened, adjourned and referred to the Judicial Committee. BOTANY JOHN, MISS SARA and BIGTIME CHIP were tightened leaving the boxes between CABOUL and ASIA OSTEE, both of which shifted ground abruptly. WHITE LEGS ran inwards entering the bend resulting in BIGTIME CHIP being hampered.
