Weather: RainingTrack: Heavy Following persistent heavy rain overnight and in the morning the track was waterlogged prior to the programme. After consultation with Trainers and the Veterinary Surgeon it was decided that the track appeared to be safe although very heavy. However, after an incident in Race 2 where a dog appeared to slip and sustain an injury it was decided that in the interests of dog welfare the remainder of the meeting be abandoned.

Judicial report: (1) MILLIE'S BOY (R Hamilton) has successfully completed a Box Trial in accordance with Rule 72.13. (2) FLYING SWAN (J McInerney) completed a satisfactory trial as required by Rule 80.

| Race 1 | Otago First 4 Maiden Sprint - C0 - 310 | ANOTHER JAMIE (2) weighed in 3kgs above its last race weight with Trainer J McInerney advising that this was a planned weight increase. APOLLO KING (4) was last to jump. ANOTHER JAMIE and ANOTHER KEY (6) came together on the bend for a stride. APOLLO KING ran outwards on the home turn pushing FIESTY FORTUNE (5) and DEBORAH BAY (7) wider on the track. ANOTHER JAMIE was found to have minor abrasions following this event with no stand down recommended. |
| Race 2 | www.greyhoundsaspets.org.nz - C1 - 310 | MEMPHIS GIRL (4) was last to jump. BIG BEN (6) ran inwards into the bend tightening TOKEN RAY (5), HOMEBUSH BUTTON (3) and LEMAQUIS WILLOW (2) which lost ground. Into the bend THRILLING HENRY (8) angled inwards and appeared to slip with FAIR TRADING (1) making contact with the dog. THRILLING HENRY again slipped when attempting to recover and faltered. This dog was referred to the vet for assessment. Following this race after consultation with the veterinary surgeon Stewards abandoned the remainder of the meeting due to the unsafe nature of the track. |
