Weather: Overcast
Track: Heavy After 40mls of rain on the eve of the meeting it was decided that no pre race trials be conducted. Although the track appeared to dry out through the day the readings still showed a great deal of moisture under the surface with the rating remaining as heavy.
Scales: Correct at all weights.
Health and Safety comment: Nil.

Judicial report: 1) Trainer R Blackburn advised Stewards that following a qualifying trial on Friday CONDIMENT sustained a fractured toe. 2) Trainer A Bradshaw was fined $50.00 as per the Minor Infringements Table after admitting a breach of Rule 68.8 when failing to present the papers for SMOKING MARLEY. 3) Trainer J Lane was fined $50.00 as per the Minor Infringements Table after admitting a breach of Rule 71.2 when failing to retrieve OPAWA LAZ prior to Race 7. 4) OUR CHARLOTTE (H Anderton) completed a satisfactory trial as required by Rule 80.

Race 1	Super Pets Dash - C1 - 295	OHOKA TOO SOON (8) was the last on jumping. ILABB (4) ran inwards in the early stages dictating FAIR CRUZIN (3) down the track. VINCENT GALLO (1) angled outwards into the bend checking LIZ WATTO (5) which lost ground.
Race 2	Southern Lakes Scaffolding Sprint - C1 - 295	REPLAY (8) was very slow to jump. HOMEBUSH BUTTON (3) ran outwards in the early stages checking BUTTERFLY TERRA (6) which lost ground. NOT SO CUTE (7) was also inconvenienced in this incident. REPLAY angled to the outside on the bend to obtain racing room and in doing so pushed HOMEBUSH BUTTON over extra ground. BUTTERFLY TERRA and HOMEBUSH BUTTON came together on the home turn.
Race 3	Christchurch Casino Stakes - C1 - 520	SKILLZ TAYLOR (4) was a clear last on settling after being checked when HOMEBUSH HANSOME (5) ran inwards. KNOW WORTH (3) was tightened in the run to the first bend. Into the first bend BRISEUR DE REVES (7) angled inwards checking HOLIVIA LASS (8) and HOMEBUSH HANSOME with this pair falling. STAR APACHE (9) was also badly hampered in this incident with KNOW WORTH being forced wider on the track. HOMEBUSH HANSOME and HOLIVIA LASS were both referred to the vet for assessment. HOLIVIA LASS was cleared of injury however HOMEBUSH HANSOME was found to have a fractured scapula.
Race 4	Amber Cleaning Services Dash - C1 - 295	LIL DANNY RASCAL (7) and PETRA HAKA (8) were the last pair from the traps. OPAWA NATTY (3) dropped to the rear in the early stages. Into the bend RANGITATA RAIDER (2) attempted to get to the outside and jostled with ANOTHER COVER (4) with this pair losing momentum and causing PETRA HAKA to be held up in behind them. LIL DANNY RASCAL was also held up for room on the home turn.
Race 5	Garrard's Horse And Hound Sprint - C1 - 295	OHOKA STRIKA (2) was last to jump. The muzzle of MAMALULU (3) broke and came adrift in the early stages. TELL THE BOYS (7) ran inwards in the early stages causing tightening to JAMAICAN ARCHIE (6) and HOMEBUSH GRU (5). ABBAS JUNIOR (4) angled outwards into the bend checking TELL THE BOYS. OHOKA STRIKA raced wide on the home turn.
Race 6	Canterbury Scaffolding Stakes - C1 - 520	CANDYBOY (6), HOMEBUSH NINJA (7) and HYPERPARADISE (8) were the last trio from the traps. HOMEBUSH NINJA angled outwards checking HYPERPARADISE for a stride in the early stages. ZIPPING JACOB (5) ran inwards in the run to the first bend checking KNOW SMIGGLE (4) and coming together with OPAWA SHACKLEY (3) with ZIPPING JACOB losing ground. CANDYBOY and HOMEBUSH NINJA both raced wide around the first bend. LONG STOCKINGS (1) was tightened on the final bend and ran outwards checking ZIPPING JACOB.
Race 7	Active Electrical Christchurch Dash - C1 - 295	OHOKA JOKA (4) ran outwards in the initial stages checking OPAWA LAZ (5) which dropped to the rear with CAWBOURNE CLOCK (6) also being hampered at this stage. RICK'S TREASURE (8) crossed quickly to the inside soon after coming together with GLORY HOG (2).
Race 8	Mac Developments Stakes - C1 - 520	KNOW CLOWN (5) was last on settling. Into the first bend JEWEL APACHE (6) clipped the heels of RUN ZOLA (4) and fell. JINJA FANTASY (7) and KNOW CLOWN were both slightly inconvenienced as a result. TODDY'S A FLYER (9) was checked on the first bend as RUN ZOLA crossed to the rail with TODDY'S A FLYER losing ground. On the home turn OM NOM NOM (3) was struck from behind and dragged to the ground for a stride by BIG JOHN CANON (8) with OM NOM NOM losing its chance. JEWEL APACHE and OM NOM NOM were both referred to the vet for assessment.
Race 9	Coalgate Tavern Sprint - C1 - 295	EYES ON LULU (7) was last on jumping. SMASH EASY (4) ran outwards in the early stages causing tightening to BELFAST EEJIT (5) and ANOTHER FAN (6). CEC DIVINE (8) crossed to the inside into the bend causing checks to SMASH EASY and MISS JOLT (2) which both lost ground. ANOTHER FAN was pushed wide on the home turn.
Race 10	C.T.V. Dash - C1 - 295	HOORAY FOR HAZEL (5) ran inwards in the early stages tightening FERAL HELEN (4) and HAMPDEN ON TAP (3). Shortly after PEYTON SAWYER (2) was dragged down and turned sideways by HAMPDEN ON TAP with this pair losing momentum. PEYTON SAWYER ran wide on the home turn. HOORAY FOR HAZEL and MOP HEAD (8) came together on the home turn. In the home straight HAMPDEN ON TAP angled outwards tightening HOORAY FOR HAZEL.
Race 11	Empire Scaffolding Stakes - C1 - 520	KNOW NEGLECT (4) and TRACEY (8) were the slowest to jump. OPAWA EXTREME (6) angled outwards inconveniencing KNOW HERO (7) in the early stages. Closer in HOMEBUSH CORAL (5) ran inwards dictating the line of KNOW NEGLECT to the inside. HOMEBUSH CORAL was tightened into the bend and lost ground.
Race 12	Snow-e Muscle, Energy & Fertility Sprint - C1 - 295	KNOW CONTEST (6) ran inwards checking JET TO MARS (5), MR. NOVEMBER (4) and EL SID (3) in the early rush. WILL EXCITE (1) got on heels into the bend and lost ground.
