Weather: Showery
Track: Heavy . After overnight snow and showers during the day the track was slushy. Stewards checked the track prior to the meeting and during the meeting to ensure there were no safety issues. There were also discussions with the track curator and, while there were three minor torn nail injuries, it was decided that given the slushy nature of the track and ongoing showery weather that it would worsen conditions if machinery was used on the track.

Health and Safety comment: Nil.

Judicial report: (1) Trainer B Healey was fined $100 under the Minor Infringement Table when admitting a charge under Rule 69.11 of presenting PUKEKO PROWLER 1.6kg over the last race start weight on 22 March 2015. (2) Stewards approved an application under Rule 79.7 by trainer JF Allen to have the endorsement for SAN SEBASTIAN under Rule 79.1 cancelled after the greyhound had completed ten clear races. The papers were endorsed accordingly. (3) Handler M Seque, who was handling SPRINKLES, was issued with a warning under Rule 72.9.c when placing his hand on the starting boxes above box 4 after dogs had been loaded away for Race 7. (4) Due to the bitterly cold and showery conditions handlers were given dispensation to wear hooded jackets underneath the club jackets, and some leeway was shown in regards to gumboots and leggings. (5) Stewards approved an application by trainer J McInerney under Rule 79.7 to have the endorsement for QUESTION BALE under Rule 79.1 cancelled after the greyhound had completed ten clear races. The papers were endorsed accordingly.

Race 1	Green Island Barber Maiden Sprint - C0 - 310	TERRA WAY was slow to jump. JAMAICAN ARCHIE ran inwards from the jump tightening APOLLO KING who lost momentum. In the run to the turn CAWBOURNE ROMAN ran inwards and bumped SMASH WHO. Into the turn BELLA GRACE ran inwards checking TERRA WAY. In the back straight and on the turn APOLLO KING ran wide.
Race 2	Brian Bagley Driver Licensing Sprint - C1 - 310	WOOLY WHATSIT was slow to jump. From the jump ILABB ran inwards tightening LIL DANNY RASCAL.
Race 3	Keyosk Service Bar Stakes - C0 - 545	PUKEKO BOLT jumped awkwardly and lost ground. From the jump GOLDSTAR PRO shifted ground inwards tightening BRINDEE'S BRO. Into the first turn GENERAL ACTION ran outwards and forced TERRA MONDO and BRINDEE'S BRO wide. On the first turn GOLDSTAR BRO collided heavily with OPAWA LARRY with both these dogs losing ground and tightening the trailing PUKEKO BOLT.
Race 4	St Kilda Veterinary Centre Stakes - C1 - 545	Shortly after the jump MEMORY LAPSE shifted ground abruptly from the No. 3 box colliding with WAIRIO DEE JAY who in turn checked THRILLING SHRIMP. Throughout the race WAIRIO DEE JAY and CALM SPIRIT raced wide on the track.
Race 5	Brocklebanks Dry Cleaners Stakes - C1/2 - 545	HOMEBUSH HOWARD was slow to jump. In the run to the first turn JINJA LOCH ran outwards and ROB'S MATE ran inwards with consequent tightening of FLYING AMELIA and LAGOON TWIST. As a result of this FLYING AMELIA stumbled when clipping the rear of JINJA LOCH and lost ground. Into the first turn PUKEKO PROWLER ran outwards colliding with HOMEBUSH HOWARD and tightening LAGOON TWIST. On the first turn ROB'S MATE checked outwards off the heels of JINJAOCH. At the end of the back straight HOMEBUSH HOWARD clipped the rear of LAGOON MYTYE with both dogs losing momentum.
Race 6	Blasting and Coating Services Sprint - C2 - 310	KNOW SALUTE was slow to jump. In the run to the turn EYREWELL HAWKE ran outwards checking GOLDSTAR CHYNA with the trailing GET READY FREDDY also checked and EYE ADAM inconvenienced. Into the turn EYE ADAM shifted inwards checking GET READY FREDDY. After the race KNOW SALUTE and GET READY FREDDY were subject to veterinary checks which revealed ripped toe nails on both dogs with a 7 day stand down recommended in each case.
Race 7	St Kilda Veterinary Centre Sprint - C3 - 310	Race start time was delayed two minutes at the request of Raceday Control. At the jump MATTY HOOKY, ECKLES and NO MORE BEERSIES were slow to jump. At the jump HOMEBUSH RILEY was tightened and lost ground. In the run to the turn SPRINKLES shifted ground inwards checking ANOTHER FORTUNE who in turn checked outwards tightening HOMEBUSH RILEY. Into the turn MATTY HOOKY struck the running rail, losing balance briefly but finished the race. A post race veterinary check of MATTY HOOKY showed a minor laceration on the left rear leg with no stand down required.
Race 8	Racing Series Novice Final - NZRSf - 545	KNOW WORTH and BRISEUR DE REVES were slow to jump. Into the first turn HOLIVIA LASS shifted ground inwards checking KNOW LAUGHING, whilst HOMEBUSH SLINKY ran outwards forcing BRISEUR DE REVES wide and KNOW WORTH also ran wide free of interference. Into the back straight KNOW LAUGHING checked off the rear of GOLDSTAR JUNIOR and went backwards checking HOMEBUSH SLINKY who shifted outwards and impeded HOLIVIA LASS. After the race a veterinary checked on HOLIVIA LASS showed a torn nail with an 8 day stand down recommended.
Race 9	Dunedin Cup Heats - C5q - 545 Heat 1	CAWBOURNE WITCH was slow to jump. At the end of the back straight HOMEBUSH CHOPPER shifted ground inwards checking CULVIE MAGIC who lost ground.
Race 10	Dunedin Cup Heats - C5q - 545 Heat 2	ELEPHANT GUNN was slow to jump. On the first turn and throughout the race THRILLING MARTY ran wide.
Race 11	Colin Keen Memorial Trophy - C4 - 310	In the run to the turn HOMEBUSH ZANE shifted ground downwards tightening WHEELCHAIR NORM. The trailing QUEDRAGO struck the hindquarters of HOMEBUSH ZANE and fell losing all chance. The trailing MICKEY TEE was also inconvenienced. QUEDRAGO regained his feet to finish a distant last and was subject to a veterinary check which revealed no injury.
Race 12	Racing Again Tuesday 28th April - C5 - 310	STIRLING DANN was slow to jump. From the jump NO LEAF CLOVER and BUMP were tightened between runners. On the turn INSPECTOR SPOT ran inwards and was clipped from behind by TEE TIME losing ground.
Race 21	Non Tote - Tier 2 - 310	From the jump GOLDSTAR BOMBER shifted ground downwards from the No. 5 box tightening PUKEKO WARRIOR and PAGANI. Into the turn PAGANI ran outwards forcing PUKEKO WARRIOR wide who in turn dictated SONNY WILL wider on the track.
