Track: Dead The track was presented in good order despite the heavy rain which fell overnight and in the morning and the meeting proceeded smoothly.

Judicial report: Trainer J.McInerney was charged under Rule 87.1 o with negligence and he admitted the breach and was fined $ 100-00 under the Minor Infringement Table when PADDY BAXTER was accepted to race at both Auckland and Palmerston North on the same day. The dog did not race at either meeting as he was presented and stood down for 7 days at Wanganui on 10.04.15 with a tricep muscle injury.

Race 1 Turakina Petshop C0 - C0 - 375 CAWBOURNE LEGS began awkwardly losing ground and settled back but he then made up ground well to finish in 4th place. RANGERS WALZ checked over the heels of CAWBOURNE LEGS entering the home straight and shifted out to race wide covering extra ground.
Race 2 Grant Irvine Pharmacy C1 - C1 - 375 APOLLO was down in weight by 1.9 kilograms from his previous start on 02.03.15 and this was an intentional decrease. APOLLO shifted in from the start and caused crowding to BUNDORAN LAD, HOMEBUSH DODGER and DARK FAERYTALES which all lost ground with HOMEBUSH DODGER and DARK FAERYTALES the most affected. One of the favourites CHLOE'S PRODIGY was slow to begin and settled back and he was then checked losing ground going into the bend when HOMEBUSH MISHA shifted ground outwards onto his line of running.
Race 3 Greyhounds As Pets C2 - C2 - 375 WAIMAK DAVE began a little awkwardly and was then further hampered when QUEEN COBRA jumped out onto his line. WAIMAK DAVE was then held up when awkwardly positioned behind runners ahead on the bend and he was subsequently not able to make up ground from there and finished in last place.
Race 4 Shakey Jakey At Rocky Ridge C0/1D - C1d - 660 BEDLAM BRIDGE was awkwardly positioned in restricted room going to the first corner and was shuffled back to the rear and raced wide rounding the first bend. He then made up ground well to finish in 2nd place.
Race 5 Affordable Pet Accessories C4 - C4 - 375 ENHANCER and MANU RAMA were the slowest to begin and lost three lengths. ENHANCER made up ground and finished 4th but MANU RAMA stayed back throughout and finished in last place. HANIFY ACE was handy enough going to the first corner but was checked losing five lengths and he never recovered. SPRING MAJOR shifted in on the bend and bumped HERE WITHOUT YOU which was unbalanced and she lost two lengths.
Race 6 Paul Claridge Electrical C3 - C3 - 375 SERENA ROSE shifted in abruptly from the start from box 8 and caused checks to LAGOON MAC, WHEELIE CHILLIE, GRAND ALLEGRO, OPAWA LEAN MEAT and PEACOCK PRINCESS. The interferance went on for some distance and eventually resulted in OPAWA LEAN MEAT making contact with the rail and he went back to last and finished in that position. OPAWA LEAN MEAT was referred to the Vet for assessment and found to have bruising and abrasions and a left pectoral muscle injury.
Race 7 Personal Protective Services Ltd. C3 - C3 - 375 One of the favourites BOSTON LIGHTNING was slow to begin and he then shifted in a short distance further on and collided with MERCENARY and they both lost ground and settled at the rear. They both made up ground quite well to finish in 4th and 5th places. ROCK ON SPRITE was checked going to the first corner losing two lengths and he then raced a little wide on the bend covering extra ground. RUNS FOR GAS was referred to the Vet for assessment at the Trainers request and found to have a dew claw injury.
Race 8 Warehouse Stationery C4 - C4 - 375 BOSTON STRIKE began a little awkwardly and was bumped soon after by LEROY'S MYSTERY and settled back. BOSTON STRIKE again made contact with LEROY'S MYSTERY going into the bend and shifted out to race wide covering extra ground
Race 9 Outback Trading Company Ltd. C5 - C5 - 375 All clear.
Race 10 Brooks Timing C1 - C1 - 457 All clear.
Race 11 J P Print, Petone C2 - C2 - 457 BOTANY RICHIE from box 1 at the start was crowded in the race to the first corner and settled at the rear but he then made up ground to finish in 4th place. REBEL AWAY was tightened between GOLFING BUDDY and BOTANY LIZ when the start was made and he settled back but made up ground very well to win the race.
Race 12 Manawatu Harness Racing 14th & 16th April C2/3 - C2/3 - 457 All clear.
