Weather: Fine
Track: Good Concerns were raised by Trainers before Race 12 after some serious injuries had occurred in the prior two races. Although the track readings and preparations were no different than normal it was decided that Race 12 and the Non-tote race be abandoned after a majority of trainers expressed concerns for the welfare of their dogs and were not prepared to carry on with the meeting.
Scales: Correct at all weights.
Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: FIORELLI MICHA (J&D Fahey), KNOW CONTEST (G Cleeve) and BERRIDALE LAD (C Roberts) all completed satisfactory trials as required by Rule 80.

Race 1	Super Pets Dash - C0 - 295	CANDYBOY (5) was a clear last at the jump with ANOTHER PENNY (3) also settling well back. Into the bend STENSON (8) ran inwards causing COOL DEXTER (7) to run out of room and fall. BIG BEN (6) also received a terminal check in this incident. FIRST OFFICER (4) ran wide on the home turn. COOL DEXTER was referred to the vet for assessment.
Race 2	Active Electrical Christchurch Sprint - C0 - 295	LACHIE JEWEL (2) and TERRA MONDO (3) were the last pair on jumping. FAIR CRUZIN (6) ran inwards in the back straight checking KNOW ANTERNET (5) and LACHIE JEWEL. KYLA ROSE (1) was tightened by CAWBOURNE GEORGE (4) into the bend and lost ground. KNOW ANTERNET angled outwards on the home turn checking FAIR CRUZIN for a stride. The winner OM NOM NOM (7) fell at the lure and was referred to the vet for assessment.
Race 3	Kolorful Kanvas Stakes - C0 - 520	ANOTHER CRUISE (2) ran inwards checking KNOW WORTH (1) for a stride in the initial stages. On the first bend KNOW WORTH ran outwards pushing KNOW LUCK (5) and SKILLZ TAYLOR (7) wider on the track. OPAWA TOP (4) received a check on this bend when racing in tight quarters and ducked outwards contacting ALL ABOUT ECHO (6). ANOTHER CRUISE commenced to weaken on the final bend causing OPAWA TOP to be held up for some distance. KNOW LUCK ran very wide on the home turn.
Race 4	Clarkson Sign Studio Dash - C0 - 295	BELLA GRACE (5) and LUCAS SCOTT (6) were the last pair on jumping. ANOTHER PEARL (7) ran inwards in the back straight checking CAWBOURNE LEGS (4). COLDRUM (2) was badly tightened into the bend and dropped to the rear. ANOTHER PEARL angled outwards on the bend pushing CAWBOURNE SHADOW (8) and LUCAS SCOTT over extra ground.
Race 5	DogZone Stakes - C1 - 520	BENJAMIN BLACK (1) was very slow to jump. In the early stages WILLIS (7) shifted outwards slightly hampering STAR APACHE (8) for a few strides. Into the first bend HOMEBUSH GRU (2) and BLACK SAILS (4) were both badly dragged down losing their chances. WILLIS was forced wide to avoid these runners. In behind STAR APACHE could not avoid BLACK SAILS and fell. These runners were cleared by the vet post race.
Race 6	Mac Developments Sprint - C1 - 295	CAWBOURNE ARNEY (8) was very slow to jump losing its chance. CABARITA (4) ran sharply inwards at the start badly checking OHOKA JOKA (3) which then checked off runners and ran outwards losing ground. BELFAST EEJIT (7) ran wide on the home bend. HOMEBUSH BUTTON (1) ran wide in the home straight. The winner BOLTIN ARCHIE (6) took a spectacular fall at the lure and was referred to the vet for assessment.
Race 7	Power Farming Canterbury Stakes - C1 - 520	HYPERPARADISE (2), OPAWA GAVIN (6) and LUMINARY (8) were the last trio from the traps. UGO FLASH (5) ducked inwards on dispatch checking MISS VALLEY INN (4) for a stride. MISS VALLEY INN ran a shade wide around the first bend pushing OPAWA GAVIN wider on the track. UGO FLASH checked off the heels of BIRCHBROOK (1) on the home turn and lost momentum.
Race 8	Christchurch Casino Dash - C1 - 295	TOKEN JUMP (7) and KNOW CHEERS (5) ran inwards in the early stages coming together with VERBATIM (3) and causing a nasty check to BOSTON BILLY (4) which dropped to the rear. KINGMAN (6) received a check into the bend and lost ground. This runner then collided with VERBATIM on the home turn when this pair were at the rear. KINGMAN was referred to the vet for assessment.
Race 9	Opawa Bowl & Jack Tavern Stakes - C2 - 520	OPAWA JED (4) was last to jump. OPAWA JED was then checked into the first bend losing ground. EXPECT DELAY (6) raced wide around the first bend.
Race 10	Amber Cleaning Services Dash - C2 - 295	EYE ADAM (10) was last on settling. WAIMAK DAVE (8) ran inwards checking EDITORIAL (6) into the bend. EDITORIAL shortened stride on the home turn and drifted to the rear with this bitch being referred to the vet for assessment.
Race 11	Shirley Vet Clinic Sprint - C1 - 295	PREMIER PRINCE (4) was hard to box prior to this event. ADJUDICATOR (8) was last to jump. MOJO BURST (7) ran inwards in the back straight checking TEAR AWAY TEDDY (6) which then ran outwards coming together with ADJUDICATOR. WRINKLES (5) lost ground on the turn when running outwards. This pushed TEAR AWAY TEDDY wider on the track. TEAR AWAY TEDDY then went amiss on the home turn and dropped away with this dog being referred to the vet for assessment.
