Weather: Fine
Track: Good The Track was presented in good racing condition. All other equipment operated well through out.
Scales: Correct at all weights
Health and Safety comment: Nil

Judicial report: WASEM TWIST ( A Turnwald ) completed a satisfactory trial per rule ( 80.1 ) is now cleared to race.
MISS SOFTY ( L Ahern ) race 8 was stood down per rule 79.1b ( failing to pursue ) 1st offence 28 days and to including the completion of a satisfactory trial/.s
FILLING THE VOID ( R Waite ) race 4 was stood down per rule 81.1 ( unsatisfactory performance ) to complete a satisfactory trail/s.
The Stewards and Club official inspected the Track in to and across the top bend after the running of race 3 in which there was a racing incident , the track was found to be well maintained , a dog had fallen during race in this area ,completely due to interference.

Race 1 ABSOLUTELY ELECTRICAL C1 - C1 - 305 Racing in to the first bend HOMEBUSH PIPPI angled in pushing PEACOCK PRINCESS ( fav ) in to HOMEBUSH SPIKE, this dog was hampered for some strides becoming unbalanced running out of room going back to the rear finishing several lengths in the rear at the line. Wider out racing in to the first bend HOMEBUSH PIPI ran out off heels forcing FORTIS MEMORIES and FLIRT WITH ME wide across the top bend. HOMEBUSH SPIKE was referred to the vet for assessment where no abnormalities were found.
Race 2 WANGANUI CHRONICLE C1 - C1 - 305 From the jump AZURE DREAMS from box 8 raced sharply in across the face of several runners checking BOTANY JOHN, SUNDAY DRIVER, COSMIC RASCAL and QUEEN COBRA, QUEEN COBRA and COSMIC RASCAL came together with ALLEGO BOOM as this runner came out from box 1. In the run in to the first bend HOMEBUSH BOUNCE from box 3 angled outwards for several strides then crossed inwards then eased for several stride going in to the bend going back to a clear last in the running finishing a margin in the rear at the line. HOMEBUSH BOUNCE was referred to the vet for assessment where no abnormalities were foun The McInerney kennel handler requested from the Stewards for the dog to be re-presented due to their concerns that the has an injury ,in the interests of dog welfare the Stewards agreed to the request. HOMEBUSH BOUNCE was found to be clear of injury once again. Mr D Poutama in charge of the McInerney team was shown a replay of the race with the Stewards concerns with the run in the bend where HOMEBUSH BOUNCE eased for several strides going back to the rear after hearing submissions from the kennel it is the Stewards opinion that the dog failed to pursue the lure as required under the rules. HOMEBUSH BOUNCE has been stood down rule ( 80.1b ) failing to pursue and to the completion of a satisfactory trial/s. Mr Poutama was advised by the Stewards of the options for re-vetting the dog /or seeking a judicial review of the Stewards decision.
Race 3 LIQUORLAND WANGANUI C2 - C2 - 305 In the run in to the bend SKELETON WITCH was badly checked as this dog ran in to the back of SKELETON WITCH being turned sideways and was unable to stay on her feet and fell , REGINA HAKA in behind was hampered slightly by the falling runner. SKELETON WITCH was taken off the track for vet assessment .where the dog was found to have suffered a leg injury and was taken to Massey University for further treatment by the Trainer, a stand down was imposed by the vet . REGINA HAKA was referred to the vet where she was found to have pain over the right triceps and left anterior thigh muscles
Race 4 CROMBIE LOCKWOOD (NZ) LTD C 1/2 - C1/2 - 520 FILLING THE VOID from box 2 raced in and towards the rear through out finishing several lengths in the rear at the line. FILLING THE VOID was referred to the vet for assessment where he was found to have pain over the right triangle muscle a 10 day stand down was recommended by the vet . The Stewards were concerned with the dogs performance through out the race ,Trainer R Waite was shown a replay of the race with the Stewards being concerned that the dog was not competitive through out. After hearing submissions from Mr Waite regarding the dogs run ,The Stewards are of the opinion that the dog did not perform to a satisfactory level. FILLING THE VOID has been stood down rule ( 80.1 ) to the completion of a satisfactory trial/s
Race 5 THE ROCK 95.2FM C2 - C2 - 305 Soon after the start ROSA GALLICA raced across on to BIGTIME CIP and CABOUL, BIGTIME CHIP tightened in between these runners dipped slightly for a stride. Racing in to the first bend RUNS FOR GAS on the inner was hampered for a stride in tight quarters ,wider out BIGTIME CHIP ran in to the back of ACAPELLA both dogs ran wide ,CABOUL in behind was forced to race wide in avoiding these runners.
Race 6 PALAMOUNTAINS SCIENTIFIC NUTRITION C2/3 - C2/3 - 305 Racing in to the first bend SHE SAID MAYBE and MISS FOXY MINX came together, going back on to MANU RAMA checking this runner on their outer SMASHED 'EM BRO improving in to the bend ran out over the heels of SHE SAID MAYBE going in to the bend awkwardly going off stride dropping out to a long last there after . SMASHED 'EM BRO was referred to the vet for assessment
Race 7 J P PRINT (PETONE) C3 - C3 - 520 Soon after the start THRILLING DYLAN ran across bumping in to OPAWA MESSINI inwards for a stride or so ,OPAWA MESSINI went back to the rear losing several lengths as they raced in to the bend on the first occasion. THRILLING DYLAN and OPAWA JEAN checked off heels racing in to the bend on the first occasion both dogs running out fairly wide losing some ground, OPAWA JEAN was last in to the back straight and raced wide across the top bend in to the home straight as she attempted to make ground finishing in last placing at the line.
Race 8 HARRISON HIRE MASTER C2/3 - C2/3 - 305 MISS SOFTY was away well in the early stages racing to a narrow lead, racing towards the first bend MISS SOFTY and HOMEBUSH SARAH came together jostling for a few strides . MISS SOFTY eased for several strides going in to the bend going back to last in the running losing at least 8 or more lengths. MISS SOFTY was unable to improve there after finishing on to the lure in last placing. MISS SOFTY was referred to the vet for assessment where she was found to have pain on flexion over the right shoulder a 7 day stand down was imposed. The Stewards reviewed the reply with B Cole representing L Ahern . The Stewards are of the opinion that MISS SOFTY failed to pursue the lure as required under the rules. B Cole was asked if he had any issues with the vetting of the dog , he was satisfied with the vets assessment , in his submissions B Cole feels that the Stewards have no understanding of analysing races and should be clear to see that the dog is injured and has pursued the lure to the finish. B Cole was advised that the Stewards take their lead on race days/ nights in assessing injuries on the stand downs that the Veterinary Surgeon imposes as they are the professionals employed for that purpose. MISS SOFTY has been stood down rule 79.1b ( failing to pursue ) and to the completion of a satisfactory trial/s.
Race 9 THE DOGZONE C4/5 - C4/5 - 520 TRIDENT began awkwardly from box 6 running in to the hind of ALL IN BERLIN as they came off the mat Racing in to the bend on the first occasion ALLEGO MAX tightened TRIDENT in on to BIG RED CHEV who was pushed on to the heels of MAMMY BROWN for a stride or so , BIG RED CHEV was able to move in where TRIDENT and ALLEGRO MAX ran wide to avoid the heels of MAMMY BROWN.
Race 10 WANGANUI SECURITY C5 - C5 - 305 STELLAR FORCE was away well from the inner in the early stages, she tightened racing in to the first bend as runners came across then fanned out ,STELLAR FORCE lost a couple of lengths finishing towards the rear at the line.
Race 11 WWW.RACINGTIPS.CO.NZ C4 - C4 - 305 From the boxes HEY YOU and WEEPU came together checking HOMEBUSH GINGER back from between them. Racing in to the first bend there was a lot of tightening and jostling as ALLEGRO MASTER angled in on to WEEPU severely tightening HEY YOU back ,MIGHTY MAGIC raced across attempting to angle in cutting off TONGARIRO this runner went back catching heels . racing in to the bend HEY YOU was tightened in on to the heels of MIGHTY MAGIC , HEY YOU went off stride dropping back and was observed to be uncomfortable in his galloping action there after finishing well back at the line. HEY YOU was referred to the vet for assessment where he was found when found to have a tear in the right triceps.
