| Race 1 | Railway Sprint Heat 1 - C5q - 318 Heat 1 | MIA ZORRA (7) and SLEEPER AGENT (8) were last to leave the boxes. Soon after leaving the boxes HASHTAG JOSH (5), LITTLE RASCAL (4) and BUMP (3) were all hampered losing ground when DANATO (6) shifted in and ROTOVEGAS JUNIOR (2) shifted out tightening these runners with ROTOVEGAS JUNIOR and DANATO then making contact. Entering the first turn DANATO angled in taking ROTOVEGAS JUNIOR inwards with BUMP who was following being tightened and getting on the heels of ROTOVEGAS JUNIOR for a stride losing ground and shifting out. DANATO continued to shift in hampering ROTOVEGAS JUNIOR who lost ground and shifted out hampering MIA ZORRA (7) who was badly unbalanced losing ground and its chance. SLEEPER AGENT (8) was also inconvenienced and taken wider as a result. Also inconvenienced as a result were BUMP and HASHTAG JOSH. ROTOVEGAS JUNIOR was held up entering the final straight before shifting out to obtain clear racing room. HASHTAG JOSH had to change ground to obtain clear running early in the final straight. MIA ZORRA was referred to the on course veterinarian following this event which revealed pain in the right wrist with a 14 day stand down imposed. |
| Race 2 | Railway Sprint Heat 2 - C5q - 318 Heat 2 | Soon after leaving the boxes YOUR SAY (10) shifted in making contact with BELLE BURST (6) taking this runner inwards. Entering the first turn NEED TO CHILL (2) shifted in making contact with WHERE'S CARLOS (1) with the trailing ALLEGRO CLASS (3) becoming awkwardly placed on heels of WHERE'S CARLOS shifting out making contact with CLONE YOUR OWN (5) who was taken wider coming together with BELLE BURST. As a result WHERE'S CARLOS became unbalanced losing ground. |
| Race 3 | Railway Sprint Heat 3 - C5q - 318 Heat 3 | CALL ME RALPH (4) and POPSOME TAGS (10) were last to leave the boxes. Shortly after the start CALL ME RALPH got on the heels of EXPLOSIVE OSTI (5) who had shifted in. CALL ME RALPH then shifted out to race wider on the track. Entering the first turn EXPLOSIVE OSTI shifted in making solid contact with POPSOME TAGS who was unbalanced and taken into the running rail for a stride both runners losing ground as a result. |
| Race 4 | Railway Sprint Heat 4 - C5q - 318 Heat 4 | BRIGHT STAR was a late scratching at 12.35pm due to being in season. Entering the first turn ROTOVEGAS BOSS (3) shifted in making solid contact with HARVEY NICHOLS (1) with both runners becoming unbalanced. Also inconvenienced as a result was MACJAM (7) who also came together with these runners then shifting out into the line of TRICKY ZORRO (8) who got on this runners heels with these runners losing ground. RODRIGUEZ (2) and ROTOVEGAS BOSS (3) made brief contact entering the final straight. |
| Race 5 | Railway Sprint Heat 5 - C5q - 318 Heat 5 | TEE KAY YAPPER (6), QUEDRAGO (4), COSMIC MACK (3) and HOMEBUSH KELSO (1) were all slightly slow into stride. Soon after the start IT'S THE DREAM (5)shifted in inconveniencing COSMIC MACK. Racing down the back straight QUEDRAGO shifted out colliding with TEE KAY YAPPER who was shifting in. Entering the first turn QUEDRAGO became badly unbalanced almost falling, losing considerable ground, making solid contact with TEE KAY YAPPER who was also badly unbalanced. HOMEBUSH KELSO lost ground rounding the bend when awkwardly placed on heels. DON'T TALK (8) shifted in across the heels of LOOKS ALL GOOD (2) over the concluding stages. |
| Race 6 | Railway Sprint Heat 6 - C5q - 318 Heat 6 | INSPECTOR SPOT (6) began awkwardly shifting in making contact with FESTIVAL MISS (5) with these runners continuing to shift in making brief contact with the hindquarters of SUPER ZIP ZIP (9). FESTIVAL MISS and EXPONENTIAL LILY (7) jostled for several strides racing toward the first turn with FESTIVAL MISS then further inconvenienced losing ground when INSPECTOR SPOT (6) shifted out entering the first turn. At the same time IBIZA FLING (8) shifted in making contact with SUPER ZIP ZIP who was badly unbalanced with these runners then coming together for several strides with both runners losing ground as a result. |
| Race 7 | Plasterboard Ltd Auckland Cup Heat 1 - C5q - 527 Heat 1 | BOOSTIN' (4) and CAWBOURNE MIDGET jostled for several strides soon after leaving the boxes. Entering the first turn SPUD MISSILE (7) shifted in tightening VALAIN'S FLYER (6) who lost ground going back making contact with BOOSTIN' (4). SPUD MISSILE then continued to shift in making contact with COOLIBAH BLUE. JESSIE SURFS (2) collided with CAWBOURNE MIDGET (9) rounding the first bend with CAWBOURNE MIDGET losing ground as a result. SPUD MISSILE made brief contact with CAWBOURNE MIDGET rounding the final bend. A post race veterinary examination of SPUD MISSILE revealed pain in a left fore toe joint with a 10 day stand down imposed. |
| Race 8 | Plasterboard Ltd Auckland Cup Heat 2 - C5q - 527 Heat 2 | ROTOVEGAS RARA was a late scratching at 12.41pm on veterinary advice. TIFINO (6) was slow away. Entering the first turn FABIO (8) shifted in making contact with CAWBOURNE STEVE (5) and THRILLING GEORGA (4) becoming unbalanced. CAWBOURNE STEVE blundered for a stride entering the bend leaving the back straight. Entering the final bend FABIO shifted in taking FASHION AND FAME (3) in onto TIFINO for a stride. |
| Race 9 | Plasterboard Ltd Auckland Cup Heat 3 - C5q - 527 Heat 3 | LONESOME NITRO (5) and BIG RED CHEV (10) were slow away. AIR RAID (2) was checked soon after the start when HOMEBUSH CHOPPER (3) shifted in in front of this runner. Entering the first turn CRUSADE MARJEN (1) shifted out abruptly off the heels of HOMEBUSH CHOPPER getting on the heels of ANGVELLA (6) who was badly unbalanced with CRUSADE MARJEN continuing to shift out into the line of FANCY INVADER (7) who got on this runners heels with both runners badly unbalanced. Also badly hampered as a result was BIG RED CHEV who was racing up on the outside of these runners becoming awkwardly placed on the hindquarters of CRUSADE MARJAN shifting wide on the track losing ground. Rounding the bend leaving the back straight LONESOME NITRO had to steady losing ground when AIR RAID shifted in tightening this runner. Rounding the final bend CRUSADE MARJAN had to shift out off the heels of LONESOME NITRO to obtain clear racing room. Entering the final straight AIR RAID was held up before shifting out making solid contact with BIG RED CHEV who was inconvenienced. |
| Race 10 | Plasterboard Ltd Auckland Cup Heat 4 - C5q - 527 Heat 4 | Soon after leaving the boxes RITZA DANNY (5) was tightened between CHECK THE MAIL (4) and SHINES BRIGHT (6). Racing toward the first turn SPANISH FANCY (8) angled in dictating SHINES BRIGHT in onto CHECK THE MAIL and RITZA DANNY who lost ground. Rounding the first bend SPANISH FANCY got on the heels of CAWBOURNE CROUCH (1) for a stride. Entering the bend leaving the back straight BOTANY BLAKE (3) had to steady for a stride when awkwardly placed on the heels of CHECK THE MAIL. SHINES BRIGHT and RITZA DANNY collided on several occasions entering the final straight when racing at the rear of the field. |

Rounding the first bend CAWBOURNE BRICK (6) shifted out off the heels of FANCY AMIGO (3) briefly inconveniencing FOUND ROMAN (7). JELLY GEM (2) was checked losing ground racing down the back straight with KIKI RHODE then having to steady when becoming awkwardly placed on this runners heels. |

Racing down the back straight YOU'RE LUCKY became awkwardly placed on heels losing ground quickly. Racing into the bend leaving the back straight LUCKY MAN (7) had to steady off heels briefly inconveniencing JESSE PINKMAN (5). YOU'RE LUCKY was referred to the veterinarian for assessment following this event with no abnormality detected. |
