In the back straight QUE TEE PIX (3) was tightened between runners and dropped to the rear. BOTANY WIN received a check into the bend as kennelmate ANOTHER COLT (1) angled marginally outwards. |
| Race 2 | The Turf Bar Sprint - C4 - 295 | RINGA DING (6) and RATTLE YA DAGS (4) dropped to the rear in the early stages. Into the bend BROKEN PEDRO (7) angled inwards checking EXPLODABLE (3) who lost ground. |
| Race 3 | Thursday Place Pick Dash - C3 - 295 | HOMEBUSH BRUNO (2), SHEZA GAMBLE (5), BUGSY BANGLES (6) and JUDITH MARY (7) were all checked in the early stages as SENORITA TINA (8) crossed quickly from the outside. WEARS THE GOLD (3) and JUDITH MARY came together into the bend as WEARS THE GOLD ran outwards with BUGSY BANGLES being forced wide around this pair. |
| Race 4 | I Pave Concrete Stakes - C3 - 520 | OPAWA WEBBY (1) was a late scratching at kenneling on veterinary advice. SHEEZA FLOWER (8) was last to jump. In the home straight OPAWA JED (3) checked sharply off the back of BOTANY RICHIE (5) and ran outwards hampering OPAWA KENDAL (4) for a stride. BOTANY RICHIE was referred to the vet after displacing a tooth at the lure. |
| Race 5 | Opawa Bowl & Jack Dash - C4 - 295 | ZORBA THE GREEK (4) was very slow to jump and tailed the event throughout. This dog was referred to the vet for assessment where no abnormalities were detected. OHOKA HOPE (8) ran wide on the home turn. When questioned in regards to the disappointing performance of ZORBA THE GREEK kennel representative S Hurd advised that the dog was feeling the effects of recent racing and would now have a brief spell. |
| Race 6 | David Emerson Consultancy Distance - C1/2d - 645 | This race was delayed by two minutes at the request of Raceday Control. KNOW ATTEMPT (3) was last to jump. BOTSNY KEVIN (7) angled inwards into the first bend checking CAWBOURNE MIAMI (4). KNOW AMBITION (5) was forced wide at this point. On the first bend CHILL OUT RALPH (1) angled outwards tightening siblings BLUSHING BELLE (6) and COURT THE BELLE (8). |
| Race 7 | Shirley Vet Clinic Sprint - C5 - 295 | TOKEN STU (2) was last from the traps. SMASH THAT (9) was checked in the back straight as SOZIN'S COMET (7) crossed from wider out. In behind CLONE YOUR OWN (5) also received a check and lost momentum. TOKEN STU ran wide into the bend when well back. |
| Race 8 | Christchurch Casino Stakes - C3/4 - 520 | In the early stages OPAWA ROCKY (7) ran inwards tightening DOLEUZE (6) and OPAWA ROSIE (5). Simultaneously IDOL GIRL (2) angled outwards causing inconvenience to JINJA TURTLE (3) and RUNAWAY TAXI (9). On the first bend RUNAWAY TAXI shifted marginally outwards pushing PUNCH ON JAIME (1) and MAGIC EMILY (8) wider on the track. In the back straight DOLEUZE and MAGIC EMILY came together for a stride. In the home straight RUNAWAY TAXI shifted out off the heels of OPAWA ROCKY and pushed IDOL GIRL wider on the track. |
| Race 9 | Greyhounds As Pets Sprint - C5 - 295 | WUNZEE (6) and RODRIGUEZ (8) were the last pair on settling. Tightening in the back straight from LITTLE REGUS (4) resulted in CAWBOURNE JELLY (1), OHOKA COBY (2) and STAR DREAMER (3) all losing ground. STAR DREAMER then ran wide into the bend. |
| Race 10 | Kolorful Kanvas Stakes - C5 - 520 | OPAWA TOM (6) was last to jump. OPAWA AMY (7) was forced wide around the first bend. CAWBOURNE ABBI (8) was checked at the entrance to the back straight and lost ground with OPAWA TOM and OPAWA AMY both being obliged to race wide at this point. At the end of the back straight BOTANY BLAKE (2) became unbalanced and lost ground when racing to the inside of an improving ELEPHANT GUNN (5). Stewards requested a post race veterinary check of the favourite FAST ARCHER (1) after this runner weakened over the concluding stages with this check revealing no abnormalities. Kennel representative S Nissen reported that blood tests will be taken from FAST ARCHER in upcoming days and any discrepancies be reported to Stewards. |
| Race 11 | Glenbyre Tavern Sprint - C5 - 295 | BUSINESS AFFAIR (8) dropped to the rear in the early stages. ZEBIDIAH (5) ran inwards in the early stages checking CULVIE MAGIC (3) which lost ground. GRAND APACHE (6) got close to the heels of the pace making QUEDRAGO (1) near the line and lost some momentum. |
| Race 12 | Livalmol Dash - C4 - 295 | BO'S BUSINESS (6) and TRICKY ZORRO (7) came together and jostled for some distance in the back straight before BO'S BUSINESS was checked and dropped to a clear last. VAN GERWIN (5) raced wide around the bend. WEE TERRA (1) shifted up the track in the home straight causing some tightening to CAWBOURNE ARROW (2) and KNOW JEALOUSY (8) over the concluding stages. |
