Track: Good .With drying gusty winds and warmer temperatures the track in front of the 390m boxes and in the straight became very dusty and the track curator applied the sprinklers to alleviate the dust evident in race 1.
Scales: Correct at all weights
Health and Safety comment: Handler K.O'Connor was permitted to wear a jacket when handling greyhounds due to a medical condition, with the handler advised that a medical certificate must be furnished to the Stewards and the club. The handler advised she had obtained a certificate which covered handling at all tracks and this would be provided.

Race 1	www.southlandgreyhounds.co.nz - C0 - 390	At the jump the outside dog SACAJAWEA encountered a wind gust which blew sand across the track obscuring vision briefly and causing the dog to lose momentum. Shortly after the jump CODIE BREA stumbled and lost ground when the field tightened as WRINKLES and PAGANI crossed. On the turn WRINKLES shifted ground inwards making firm contact with SACAJAWEA with both dogs losing ground.
Race 2	SGRC $50 LEATHER LEADS - C1 - 390	HOMEBUSH GRU was slow to jump. From the jump NORMAN JEWEL shifted ground outwards dictating OZARKS DAUGHTER into the path of ANGEL D'OR who lost momentum. Shortly afterwards ANGEL D'OR became unbalanced when MATTY HOOKY ran inwards, with resulting checks to STARBURST BENNY and HOMEBUSH GRU. Into the turn as the field came together MATTY HOOKY collided with NORMAN JEWEL when crossing down to the rail and the trailing LOTS OF BEERSIES was checked. Into the home straight BLAZING HOT was inconvenienced as MATTY HOOKY continued to shift ground inwards
Race 3	BLUFF STAKES - C1 - 390	From the jump LOLA BAXTER ran inwards making contact with SAILORS COLLAR who lost momentum, with the trailing MILLIE'S BOY and ZULU MERCEDES also checked. Into the turn HOMEBUSH SPIKE pushed outwards and LOLA BAXTER shifted ground inwards with SHOWROOM tightened between those runners. Also inconvenienced were MILLIE'S BOY and SAILORS COLLAR with both dogs losing ground. On the turn ZULU MERCEDES and LOLA BAXTER ran wide. Into the home straight SAILORS COLLAR checked off the heels of ZULU MERCEDES and lost ground.
Race 4	RIVERTON STAKES - C1 - 457	OPAWA UNO was scratched under Rule 64.5 without penalty with a change of trainer notified. In the race itself MEGA VOLT was slow to jump with CAWBOURNE CRUZE and HOMEBUSH BUCK colliding and losing momentum. Into the turn ANOTHER PLANE checked outwards off the rear of BRUISER BALE with a resulting check to OPAWA NATTY who was further tightened and lost all chance when MEGA VOLT crossed inwards.
Race 5	SOUTHLAND & OTAGO PHOTO FINISH - C0 - 457	HOMEBUSH RILEY (J McInerney) was shown incorrectly in the racebook as being 28.9kg at its last race start on 31st December. It was ascertained that this was incorrect and the correct weight of 32.7kg was advised to the TAB. In the race CAWBOURNE KENNY jumped awkwardly and lost momentum, with PINT SIZED PIXIE checked as TOKEN ACE shifted ground outwards. On the turn ZULU CHANEL ran wide with WAIRIO DEE JAY also shifting ground outwards checking PINT SIZED PIXIE.
Race 6	WWW.GREYHOUNDSASPETS.ORG.NZ - C2 - 390	OPAWA LUCKY was slow to jump. From the jump COLLECTING MONEY ran sharply inwards checking UNO FLASH.
Race 7	Racing Series Novice Final - NZRSf - 457	MR. JOHNNY was slow to jump. From the jump TOKEN RAY ran outwards checking CALINDA GIRL with the trailing SPEEDY SWEDE and MR.JOHNNY also inconvenienced. In the run to the turn WAIMAK DAVE ran inwards checking TOKEN RAY. Into the turn TOKEN RAY shifted downwards tightening HOMEBUSH HOWARD who was forced outwards into the path of SPEEDY SWEDE who was badly checked.
Race 8	NEW YEAR STAKES - C3 - 390	In the home straight CAPTAIN'S CHOICE checked off the rear of CAWBOURNE BUTTSY and lost ground.
Race 9	ASCOT PARK HOTEL - C1/2 - 457	NICKY NOIR (B Dann) was a late scratching at kennelling when found to be in season. In the race HOMEBUSH NINJA stumbled at the jump and lost all chance. Into the turn LAGOON BELLE was tightened by OPAWA JEAN and lost momentum. On the turn OPAWA JEAN checked off the heels of HOMEBUSH CORAL and forced JOHN DORY wide.
Race 10	SGRC $26 FIVE WIRE MUZZLE STAKES - C4 - 390	OPAWA IDOL jumped awkwardly and lost ground. In the run to the turn HOMEBUSH ROCKY shifted ground downwards checking BELLWAVE. After the race BELLWAVE was subject to a veterinary checked which showed the dog to have a painful left hock and a 28 day stand down was recommended.
Race 11	ADDED ENERGY STAKES - C3/4 - 457	JESSIE SURFS bounded at the jump and lost ground. In the run to the turn JESSIE SURFS shifted ground downwards checking ROBBIE. Into the turn CHARLIE'S CHOICE shifted ground inwards checking DOLEUZE and LENA ALLEN. CHARLIE'S CHOICE was clipped from behind by DOLEUZE running wide and losing all chance. After the race CHARLIE'S CHOICE was subject to a veterinary check which revealed a small tear to the right gracilus with a 21 day stand down recommended.
Race 12	justracing.com.au - C4/5 - 390	At the jump ANOTHER COLT shifted ground outwards checking HOMEBUSH KELSO. In the run to the turn COSTING MONEY ran inwards tightening RINGA DING.
