Judicial report: DYNA FILBERT (Race 6) was a late scratching at 10.47am on Veterinary advice. Stewards questioned handler R Mathers regarding the reason he was late to retrieve JINJARANGO from the kennels for Race 11. After hearing from Mr Mathers, Stewards accepted his explanation and took the matter no further.

Race 1	Super Pets Sprint - C2 - 295	HELLO BLONDIE (7) was very slow to begin. BOTANY ZENVO (3) shifted inwards at the start checking OPAWA LAZ (2) and JACK'S A JEWEL (1). Racing along the back straight JACK'S A JEWEL (1) and CULVIE SPRITE (8) collided. JACK'S A JEWEL (1) and OPAWA LAZ (2) ran outwards into the first turn with CULVIE SPRITE (8) and PETRA HAKA (6) being hampered. Rounding the bend GOLDSTAR CHYNA (4) and HOMEBUSH PAIGE (5) collided with HOMEBUSH PAIGE (5) losing momentum. When questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance of GOLDSTAR CHYNA (4), co-trainer B Evans explained that the bitch races best when either leading or positioned close to the lead in her races. Today the dog was able to jump quickly and assume its favoured position which had resulted in an improved effort.
Race 2	Angler's Arms Tavern Dash - C3 - 295	RAMBUNCTIOUS (7) shifted inwards abruptly at the start checking GOLDSTAR BOMBER (6), WANDY JEWEL (5) and CAMPAIGNER (4). Approaching the first bend RAMBUNCTIOUS (7) and ABOGADO (2) came together. Racing into the first bend ABOGADO (2) was turned outwards by RAMBUNCTIOUS (7) which was awkwardly placed on the hind quarters of ABOGADO (2). As a result ABOGADO (2) ran wide forcing RAMBUNCTIOUS (7) and GOLDSTAR BOMBER (6) over extra ground, FANTASTIC FOUR was also hampered. Rounding the bend WANDY JEWEL (5) checked off the heels of RAMBUNCTIOUS (7) and collided with GOLDSTAR BOMBER (6) with both dogs losing ground.
Race 3	Thursday Place Pick Stakes - C3 - 520	JINJA TURTLE (2) shifted outwards at the start checking OPAWA KENDAL (3) and CAWBOURNE FLOYD (4). Racing into the first bend OPAWA JED (5) checked off the heels of OPAWA TANIA (1) with the trailing GEE CEE BEE (6) losing momentum after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of OPAWA JED (5), inconveniencing the trailing CAWBOURNE FLOYD (4) and OPAWA KENDAL (3) which blundered. OPAWA TANIA (1) was checked by FLIP FLIPPA (8) at the end of the back straight. GEE CEE BEE (6) checked off the heels of OPAWA TANIA (1) in the run home.
Race 4	christchurchgreyhounds.co.nz Dash - C3 - 295	SMASH AMY (6) blundered at the start and lost momentum. BLUE REVIEW (7) and HOMEBUSH BRUNO (5) came together in the early stages and continued to jostle racing into the first bend. ABOUT TOWN (1) was checked by BUTTERBEAN (2) racing into the first bend. HOMEBUSH BRUNO (5) was also checked by BLUE REVIEW (7) at the first bend. BLUE REVIEW (7) and GO BRIDIE (8) collided rounding the bend.
Race 5	Shirley Vet Clinic Sprint - C3 - 295	HOMEBUSH ZANE (7) and CRONK WENT PLONK (6) collided at the start with CRONK WENT PLONK (6) losing ground. Racing into the first bend HOMEBUSH ZANE (7) shifted inwards and made contact with ZORBA THE GREEK (5) who checked KNOW FAULT (4) onto BLUE GALE RISE (2) and BLONDE TORI (1). WILL EXCITE (9) was also checked in this incident. Rounding the bend CRONK WENT PLONK (6) was turned outwards by ZORBA THE GREEK (5) and became unbalanced before being forced to the outside of the track. Leaving the bend BLONDE TORI (1) was turned outwards by HOMEBUSH ZANE (7) resulting in BLONDE TORI (1) shifting up the track and checking HOMEBUSH ZANE (7), KNOW FAULT (4), ZORBA THE GREEK (5) and BLUE GALE RISE (2). BLONDE TORI (1) and WILL EXCITE (9) came together early in the run home. CRONK WENT PLONK (6) was examined by the vet and cleared of injury.
Race 6	DogZone Dash - C5 - 295	OHOKA COBY (4) and BO'S BUSINESS (5) came together in the early stages. Racing into the first bend ANIU (1) was checked by OHOKA COBY (4) and lost ground forcing BUSINESS AFFAIR (3) and GOLDSTAR CHUMLEE (6) over extra ground. Rounding the bend SOZIN'S COMET (8) shifted inwards checking SPUD GUN (2) which lost momentum. ANIU (1) and GOLDSTAR CHUMLEE (6) bumped early in the run home.
Race 7	Garrard's Horse & Hound Stakes - C4 - 520	WHAT I LIKE (4) checked off the heels of OPAWA WEBBY (6) in the early stages. Racing into the first bend WHAT I LIKE (4) and OPAWA ZARA (7) collided with the trailing CAWBOURNE WITCH (5) being hampered. Shortly after WHAT I LIKE (4), KAREN'S MAGIC (3) and BOTANY SEATON (2) came together. Racing into the back straight WHAT I LIKE (4) checked off the heels of BOTANY KEVIN (8).
Race 8	Christchurch Casino Sprint - C5 - 295	COSTING MONEY (6) and QUEDRAGO (5) collided at the start with COSTING MONEY (6) then shifting inwards forcing CRACKING CHAIN (4) down the track. PLAGIARISM (2) was badly checked when racing between KERAMUS (1) and CRACKING CHAIN (4) in the early stages. Racing into the first bend FLYING SWAN (3) was checked by QUEDRAGO (5) and lost ground which resulting in the trailing COSTING MONEY (6) and TOKEN STU (7) also being checked. Rounding the bend KERAMUS (1) shifted outwards obliging FLYING SWAN (3) to race wider on the track. PLAGIARISM (2) was checked by COSTING MONEY (6) late in the run home. PLAGIARISM (2) was examined by the vet and cleared of injury.
Race 9	The Miller Bar & Cafe Dash - C4 - 295	SLEEPER AGENT (6) was slow to begin. CAWBOURNE JELLY (4), PUMA PANTS (5) and KNOW KNOWING (7) came together in the early stages and jostled for some distance. Racing into the first bend RED HOT FURY (8) shifted inwards checking KNOW KNOWING (7) and PUMA PANTS (5) which both lost several lengths. ADROIT (2) shifted outwards leaving the bend and early in the run home forcing RED HOT FURY (8) over extra ground. CAWBOURNE JELLY (4) and ADROIT (2) collided late in the run home.
Race 10	C.T.V. December Dash Final - C5f - 295	INSPECTOR SPOT (8) shifted inwards at the start bumping WUNZEE (7) onto GO HOUSIE (6). Shortly after GO HOUSIE (6) faltered and dropped to the rear. Racing into the first bend WUNZEE (7) was checked by INSPECTOR SPOT (8) and lost momentum with the trailing CLONE YOUR OWN (1) and RODRIGUEZ (3) also checked. RODRIGUEZ (3) checked off the heels of WUNZEE (7) early in the run home. GO HOUSIE (6) was referred to the vet for assessment.
Race 11	Glenbyre Tavern Stakes - C5 - 520	HIS LORDSHIP (8) was slow to begin. LUNAR TOM (4) and ELEPHANT GUNN (9) came together shortly after the start. Approaching the first bend ELEPHANT GUNN (9) became awkwardly placed on the heels of HIS LORDSHIP (8). Shortly after LUNAR TOM (4) checked off the heels of THUMB PRINT TONY (6) and shifted outwards forcing ELEPHANT GUNN (9) very wide on the track. INVIDIOUS (1) and THUMB PRINT TONY (6) bumped rounding the first bend. GAME GIRL (3) and HIS LORDSHIP (8) came together leaving the final bend. GAME GIRL (3) was referred to the vet for assessment.
Race 12	Livamol Sprint - C4 - 295	BILLY WEST (4) was slow to begin. KNOW PRIDE (2) and HOMEBUSH CHURRO (3) came together at the start. SMASH RUMOUR (1) was placed in restricted room racing into the first bend by HOMEBUSH CHURRO (6). KNOW PRIDE (2) was checked racing into the first bend when racing between IMPERSONATOR (5) and SMASH RUMOUR (1) and lost several lengths. SMASH RUMOUR (1) shifted outwards off the heels of OPAWA CASPER (6) rounding the bend and collided with IMPERSONATOR (5) which shifted up the track abruptly with resulting checks to the trailing KNOW JEALOUSY (7) and DEE (8) which both lost their chance.
