BARNICLE BULLET (8) ran inwards in the early stages checking OPAWA GOODIE (9) and CAWBOURNE CLOCK (4) who lost ground. BARNICLE BULLET ran wide and lost ground when handy on the home turn. |
| Race 2 | Happy Birthday Scott Guthrie Sprint - C1 - 295 | ELWOOD SENSATION (1) and SPIDER GIRL (3) were the last pair on jumping. CHAIMBO (7) lost ground in the early stages as CUE POWER (8) crossed from its outside. ELWOOD SENSATION shifted outwards into the bend placing BIZARRO (5) in restricted room. SPIDER GIRL and PEYTON SAWYER (6) both angled wide on the bend checking CUE POWER. CHAIMBO was badly checked on the home turn when tightened by SPIDER GIRL who had run inwards. |
| Race 3 | I Pave Concrete Dash - C3 - 295 | GO TOMMO (3) was a clear last at the jump. RATTLE YA DAGS (8) and ABOUT TOWN (6) ran inwards in the early stages with CAMPAIGNER (7), GOLDSTAR BOMBER (5) and HOMEBUSH BRUNO (4) all receiving tightening. ABOUT TOWN and PUMA PANTS (1) came together as a result of this tightening. HOMEBUSH BRUNO was tightened into the bend with GO TOMMO forced wide around this runner. ABOUT TOWN angled inwards in the run home forcing PUMA PANTS to change ground to its outside. |
| Race 4 | Robbie's Bar & Bistro Dash - C1 - 295 | KNOW LAUGHING (2) and JASPER HAKA (5) were the last pair on jumping. NICKSTA (1) was tightened into the bend and lost ground with KNOW LAUGHING being hampered in behind and losing momentum. Into the bend VEE MAN SPARKY (8) came together with MICKEY TEE (7) when this pair were vying for the lead with both dogs stumbling and losing ground. On the bend OHOKA FAITH (3) angled outwards to obtain racing room pushing JASPER HAKA and VEE MAN SPARKY wider on the track. Early in the home straight JASPER HAKA ran inwards as OHOKA FAITH angled outwards placing KNOW LAUGHING in restricted room. VEE MAN SPARKY was referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of injury. |
| Race 5 | Ritchies Coachlines Stakes - C1 - 520 | OPAWA RAPID (8) was last to jump. KNOW CLOWN (2) shifted marginally outwards in the run to the first bend after being crossed by BIG JOHN CANON (4) hampering CHILL OUT RALPH (5) who lost ground. CHILL OUT RALPH ran wide around the last bend. |
| Race 6 | Carol's T.A.B. Sprint - C3 - 295 | YALDHURST EDWARD was a late scratching at kenneling when found to be suffering from diarrhoea. CAMRAY (2) and KNOW MAYHEM (4) were the last pair on jumping. BELLWAVE (1) angled outwards in the back straight pushing KNOW MAYHEM wider on the track with this continuing into the bend. NOBLE FANTASY (6) ran wide around that bend. HOMEBUSH ZANE (3) shifted marginally outwards early in the home straight. |
| Race 7 | Active Electrical Christchurch Stakes - C1 - 520 | DUSTY RIDER (5) and MR. JOHNNY (6) both proved troublesome when boxing. The boxing manners of both of these dogs will be monitored in upcoming engagements. DARCY BRASCO (3) and BRUISER BALE (7) were both slow to leave the traps. JEMIMA TEE (2) shifted up the track in the early stages hampering COME ON DOLLY (4) and MR. JOHNNY for a short distance. OPAWA VIV (8) angled inwards on the first bend tightening MR. JOHNNY and DUSTY RIDER and then colliding with DARCY BRASCO. At the end of the back straight BRUISER BALE checked outwards off the heels of DUSTY RIDER and pushed OPAWA VIV very wide on the track. OPAWA VIV lost all momentum in this incident dropping out with this bitch being referred to the vet for assessment. |
| Race 8 | Christchurch Casino Sprint - C4 - 295 | COSTING MONEY (4) ran inwards in the early stages tightening LAST EXPLORER (3) and ADROIT (2). Into the bend WANDY JEWEL (1) checked outwards after contacting COSTING MONEY with ANOTHER COLT (6) being badly checked and HOMEBUSH ARIEL (5) and SHEEZA FLOWER (8) being pushed wider on the track. LIFE'S A LAUGH (7) ran wide on the bend costing it ground. On the home turn SHEEZA FLOWER lost more ground when contacting the hind quarters of WANDY JEWEL. HOMEBUSH ARIEL angled inwards on the home turn coming together with ADROIT and losing ground. |
| Race 9 | Mac Developments Stakes - C2/3 - 520 | FLIP FLIPPA (8) was a clear last on jumping. MULBERRY BROOK (2) angled outwards into the first bend pushing CAWBOURNE FLOYD (7) wider on the track. In behind GEE CEE BEE (6) and FLIP FLIPPA were both inconvenienced for a few strides losing momentum. CAWBOURNE WAR (4) checked off the heels of MULBERRY BROOK entering the back straight. On the home turn CAWBOURNE FLOYD brushed the rail for a stride losing momentum. CAWBOURNE WITCH fell at the lure and was sent to the vet for assessment where it was cleared of injury. Trainer C Roberts was questioned in regards to the disappointing performance of CAWBOURNE WAR. He stated that he will attempt to get some weight off the dog as its best performances have been at a lighter weight than he is presently at and will solo trial the dog in the next fortnight. Mr Roberts was informed that a better performance is expected of this dog at his next start |
| Race 10 | christchurchgreyhounds.co.nz Sprint - C5 - 295 | This race was delayed by two minutes at the request of Raceday Control. OSCAR TUIVASA (2) and KERAMUS (1) settled at the rear. Into the bend GO HOUSIE (7) angled inwards and came together with CRACKING CHAIN (4). GO HOUSIE lost ground as a result coming back on to MARY MARLOW (9) who took a spectacular fall with OSCAR TUIVASA receiving a terminal check. KERAMUS ran outwards when improving on the home turn pushing GOLDSTAR CHUMLEE (3) over extra ground. The vet checked GO HOUSIE and MARY MARLOW and cleared them of any abnormality. |
| Race 11 | Kolorful Kanvas Stakes - C4 - 520 | OPAWA ROCKY (7) was a touch slow to jump. KAREN'S MAGIC (4) received a check in the early stages as OPAWA AMY (3) angled outwards. LUNAR TOM (6) and OPAWA AMY were obliged to race wide around the first bend. |
| Race 12 | Snow-e Muscle, Energy & Fertility Dash - C4 - 295 | HOMEBUSH ROCKY (6) was very slow to jump. ZORBA THE GREEK (9) ran inwards checking BLUE GALE RISE (7) in the early stages. KNOW PRIDE (3) was checked in the run to the bend and lost ground with OHOKA HOPE (1) also being checked as CAWBOURNE JELLY (2) angled inwards. OHOKA HOPE then ran very wide around the bend. In the home straight CAWBOURNE JELLY and BUSINESS AFFAIR (5) collided for a stride as CAWBOURNE JELLY shifted up the track. |
