| Race 2 | Palamountains Scientific Nutrition C2/3 - C2/3 - 520 | CAWBOURNE STEVE shifted in from the start and caused checks to HOMEBUSH LUCIFER, BOTANY DAVE and PSEUDONYM and they lost ground and settled back. BOTANY DAVE and HOMEBUSH LUCIFER bumped together going into the first bend losing further ground and they never recovered and finished at the rear. PSEUDONYM was referred to the Vet for assessment and found to have minor spike wounds but no stand down was required. |
| Race 3 | Happy Birthday Brendon Cole C4 - C4 - 305 | COSMIC FURY, ODE TO LIBERTY and FASTBACK KING were slow to begin and settled back. COSMIC FURY recovered the best of the three and he made up ground well to finish in 2nd place. JUST YOU WAIT and CHOCDEE ALICE bumped together going into the bend and they were briefly unbalanced and lost ground. SWEET LIES raced in a handy position into the bend but then shifted out to race wide and as a result, she lost ground and finished well back. FASTBACK KING was referred to the Vet for assessment at the Trainers request and found to a laceration to a metacarpus. |
| Race 4 | Crombie Lockwood (NZ) Ltd C4 - C4 - 305 | EL JETTA and MATILDA'S BABE were a little slow to begin and settled back. Soon after the start, WAR ON TERROR and EL JETTA came together and EL JETTA blundered and lost a length. |
| Race 5 | LIQUORLAND WANGANUI Spion Rose Ht 1 (Group 1) - C5q - 520 Heat 1 | KNOW DANGER and JIBBAJABBA JEWEL bumped together when the start was made and settled at the rear. THUMB PRINT TONY checked off the back of AIR RAID going into the first bend and shifted out and bumped with JIBBAJABBA JEWEL which was pushed wide into the bend and he never recovered the lost ground and finished in last place. |
| Race 6 | LIQUORLAND WANGANUI Spion Rose Ht2 (Group 1) - C5q - 520 Heat 2 | HOMEBUSH KELSO shifted out slightly going into the first corner and this resulted in some jostling to INVIDIOUS, DYNA FILBERT and TRUST ISSUES and they all lost momentum for a short distance. SPEED LEGEND which was racing in behind those runners was also hampered briefly. |
| Race 7 | LIQUORLAND WANGANUI Spion Rose Ht3 (Group 1) - C5q - 520 Heat 3 | STOLEN MONEY checked off the back of CAWBOURNE BRIGHT going into the first bend and shifted out causing checks to GIBBONATOR, FLYING SWAN and WALLACE LAD. They were forced wide into the bend over extra ground and stayed back for the remainder of the race to finish in the last three places. CAWBOURNE BRIGHT was held up for a short distance in behind the eventual winner FAST ARCHER as they entered the home straight and she finished well for 2nd place once in the clear. FAST ARCHER was observed to be holding a hind leg up following the race and was referred to the Vet for assessment and was cleared of injury. |
| Race 8 | LIQUORLAND WANGANUI Spion Rose Ht4 (Group 1) - C5q - 520 Heat 4 | CAWBOURNE CROUCH shifted in from the start and checked JESSIE SURFS which lost ground and settled back. FORTIS FLIER shifted in going into the first corner and crowded CAESAR CHANCE which was forced in onto INDIANA IZMIR and CHECK THE MAIL and they lost ground with CAESAR CHANCE the most affected and he went back to the rear. CHECK THE MAIL recovered the best following the incident and he made up ground well to finish in 3rd place. |

SUPER ZIP ZIP shifted in and crowded NGAURUHOE which was briefly unbalanced going to the first corner and lost two lengths. |

CAPTAINS CHOICE and LITTLE REGUS jostled together for some distance going to the first corner and they were briefly unbalanced and lost ground. |

WINFIELD BLACK checked off the back of WATERBUG going into the first corner and shifted out to race a little wide on the bend over extra ground. A short distance further on, ALDONZA checked off the back of ENAZUMA and also shifted out to race wide and she stayed back to finish in last place. |

NITRO LUIS shifted in from the start and checked over the heels of ALL IN BERLIN and a short distance further on, CALL ME RALPH was hampered when checking over the heels of NITRO LUIS. |
