HOMEBUSH FINE (8) and NICKSTA (6) both ran inwards in the early stages with NICKSTA coming together with HOMEBUSH OLIVE (9) for a stride. PAYTON SAWYER shifted up the track in the back straight brushing with SPECIAL DOSH (5) for a stride. Into the bend PRINCELY COUNT (1) angled outwards pushing HOMEBUSH OLIVE up the track with NICKSTA being badly checked as a result and WRINKLES (7) and SPECIAL DOSH both being inconvenienced. On the home turn SPECIAL DOSH checked outwards off the hind quarters of NICKSTA. |
| Race 2 | Happy Birthday Dave Matheson Sprint - C0 - 295 | PASS WITH CARE (4) was very slow to leave the traps. BROOKE DAVIS (2) shifted outwards in the early stages hampering ANGEL D'OR (3), HOMEBUSH BUTTON (5) and HOMEBUSH FLYTE (6) for a few strides. PASS WITH CARE and HOMEBUSH BUTTON jostled for some distance into the bend when at the rear. On the home turn ANGEL D'OR was held up when attempting to improve and was forced to checked wide to obtain racing room. OHOKA TORI (7) raced wide around the bend. |

ARCHIE'S TIME (5) ran outwards in the initial stages and was dragged down by MULL IT OVER with this pair losing ground and MR. JOHNNY (7) also being hampered and forced wide settling well back. Into the bend ARCHIE'S TIME and MR. JOHNNY came together again and lost more ground. ARCHIE'S TIME was referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of injury. |

CABARITA (7) ran inwards in the back straight badly checking OUR CHARLOTTE (6) and MICKEY TEE (5). Into the bend MCJOPSON (2) ran outwards checking CABARITA who struck the hind quarters of OHOKA FAITH (1) and lost ground. RANGITATA RAIDER (8) maintained a wide course on the home turn. MCJOPSON, CABARITA and OUR CHARLOTTE were all checked and cleared by the vet. |

ROYAL APACHE (6) came together with CORPORATE IMAGE (1) into the bend for a stride. On the home turn CHURCHILL CHASER (8) was pushed wide as BLAZING HOT (3) improved to her inside. |

FANTA'S FEVER (2) then checked CABRERA from behind with both runners dropping out. CABRERA was referred to the vet for assessment and found to be free of injury. VERBATIM (8) was also referred to the vet for assessment. |

ARCHIE'S COMET (8) was very slow to jump with ANOTHER PLANE (1) also settling well back. OCHE (3) was tightened into the bend losing ground and running outwards. UNO FLASH (2) was checked on the bend losing ground. OCHE faltered just after the finishing line and was referred to the vet for assessment. |

LONG STOCKINGS (1) shifted up the track into the first bend hampering KINLOCH SILVER (2) for a few strides. LONG STOCKINGS then ran wide around the bends covering extra ground. LIL DANNY RASCAL ran very wide around the first bend. OPAWA NATTY (8) was checked at the end of the back straight when looking to improve along the rail and lost ground. |
