Track: Good The track was presented in good order and the meeting proceeded smoothly.
Scales: Checked and correct
Health and Safety comment: Nil

Judicial report: After initially being advised that there was no time taken for race 3, the Photo finish operator then advised the Stewards that in fact they were able to give a 100 % accurate time for the race which was a heat of a series and as a result, there was no need for a ballot for the final field.

Race 1	No Moore Hassell Petfoods, Levin C0 - C0 - 375	ICAHN and RADIO CALL began awkwardly and settled back. ICAHN then shifted out to race wide covering extra ground but was observed to be finishing strongly into 6th place. RADIO CALL checked off the heels of HIDE THE SOCKS going into the first corner and she lost ground and stayed back to finish in last place.
Race 2	Racing Series Novice Heat 1 - NZRSq - 457 Heat 1	ZULU MERCEDES began a little awkwardly losing two lengths but made up ground to finish in 4th place. OPAWA LACHLAN shifted out and bumped paddy baxter in the race to the first corner and PADDY BAXTER was unbalanced losing three lengths and he stayed back to finish near the rear. BELLDEEN raced a little wide into the bend and drifted to finish several lengths last and she was referred to the Vet for assessment and found to have pectoral and quadricep muscle pain.
Race 3	Racing Series Novice Heat 2 - NZRSq - 457 Heat 2	SHADOW BAXTER shifted in and hampered MORE SALT NEEDED when the start was made and SHADOW BAXTER then shifted out going into the bend and MORE SALT NEEDED was again hampered and he never recovered and finished in last place.
Race 4	Racing Series Novice Heat 3 - NZRSq - 457 Heat 3	JINJA LOCH and OPAWA JACKIE jostled together for some distance going to the first turn and then WHEELIE OVER IT shifted out going into the bend and caused checks to itself and also ZULU CHANEL, JINJA LOCH and OPAWA JACKIE and they lost ground and stayed back to finish in the last four places.
Race 5	Racing Series Novice Heat 4 - NZRSq - 457 Heat 4	OPAWA BORN began awkwardly losing two lengths. SARAH CAMPBELL was checked going to the first turn and went back to the rear. JOEY'S SECRET shifted out when unbalanced going into the bend and caused checks to ROCKY BAXTER and BOTANY SEL and they never recovered and finished in the last three places.
Race 6	Racing Series Novice Heat 5 - NZRSq - 457 Heat 5	OPAWA DASH began awkwardly losing two lengths. KAY ROAD was checked when tightened between runners going into the bend and he went back to the rear and never recovered. Ashort distance further on, OPAWA RAPID was checked when avoiding the heels of HOMEBUSH SPOOK which shifted in towards the rail.
Race 7	Racing Series Novice Heat 6 - NZRSq - 457 Heat 6	HOMEBUSH GINGER was checked going into the bend and again approaching the home turn and she lost ground on both occasions and finished well back.
Race 8	Steve The Auctioneer Davis C2 - C2 - 375	The start was delayed by 3 minutes at the request of the TAB. The muzzle on KOTUMBA became partially dislodged, possibly as the field jumped from the boxes and as a result of the muzzle flapping around during the race, it was considered that KOTUMBA was hampered throughout the race and he finished in the rear group.
Race 9	Outback Trading Company Ltd C1/2 - C1/2 - 457	CURIOUS LIFE and MURTAUGH jostled together for some distance going to the first corner and they eventually checked losing several lengths and never recovered. TOKEN RAY and INTO THE FRAY were hampered in the incident and lost ground.
Race 10	Rose City Motel Palmerston North C3 - C3 - 375	BOLT ALLEGRO shifted in from the start and checked OPAWA JAY, EMPTY BANK and CAWBOURNE STEVE and they lost ground and settled back. CAWBOURNE STEVE recovered the best of those affected in the incident and he made up ground well to win the race. BOLT ALLEGRO was midfield going into the bend but drifted and eventually finished several lengths last and was referred to the Vet for assessment and found to have pectoral muscle pain.
Race 11	Yella Mustard At Stud C4/5 - C4/5 - 375	ALMOST GOT IT was awkwardly placed between runners going into the bend and he was shuffled back to the rear and never recovered and stayed back to finish in last place.
Race 12	Grant Irvine Pharmacy C4/5 - C4/5 - 457	SPEED LEGEND began awkwardly losing two lengths. JIBBAJABBA JEWEL raced very wide into the straight and finished in last place.
