Shortly after the start PEYTON SAWYER (2) shifted outwards and made firm contact with RACONTEUR. PEYTON SAWYER continued to shift outwards making contact with MOONLIGHT LAD (8). Into the first bend HOMEBUSH GRU (4) was checked when tight to the inside of CUE POWER. Rounding the turn CUE POWER shifted out across the heels of SMASH WHO (3) and hampered HOMEBUSH FINE (1) .Into the straight CUE POWER shifted inwards and hampered the running of SMASH WHO which was unbalanced shifting outwards making contact with HIGH ON VEE (7). |
| Race 2 | Happy Birthday Peter Knowles Dash - C0 - 295 | HOMEBUSH INQUIRY (9), WRINKLES (4), PUKEKO WARRIOR (5) and ENFORCED KIWI (6) all came together after jumping. Into the turn HOMEBUSH INQUIRY was hampered when contacted from behind, losing all chance. Rounding the bend PUKEKO WARRIOR was severely checked when tight inside SACAJAWEA (7) which shifted inwards. The trailing WRINKLES was hampered in consequence. PUKEKO WARRIOR was sent to the veterinarian for assessment and cleared of injury. |
| Race 3 | Camside Stud Puppies Dash - C0 - 295 | BROOKE DAVIS (1) was slow to begin and then further hampered when KNOW LUCK (2) shifted inwards making firm contact. Shortly after the start LA VENTANA (8) shifted inwards and jostled with ANGEL D'OR (5) for a short distance. Into the first turn PRINCELY COUNT (3) shifted inwards towards the running line and hampered both KNOW LUCK and BROOKE DAVIS. |
| Race 4 | racingdogs.co.nz Maiden Heat 1 - C0q - 520 Heat 1 | KNOW RIGHTS (7) was slow to begin. Shortly after the start HOMEBUSH DOBBY (3) checked across the heels of COLDRUM (2) which was shifting away from the running line. ZIPPING JACOB (6) and MERCEDES GOLD (1) made firm contact passing the winning post on the first occasion. MERCEDES GOLD shifted outwards and forced ZIPPING JACOB wider on the track as a result. ZIPPING JACOB shifted inwards at the end of the back straight and checked MERCEDES GOLD . |
| Race 5 | racingdogs.co.nz Maiden Heat 2 - C0q - 520 Heat 2 | HOMEBUSH SLINKY (6) was a late scratching due to kennel cough. PINT SIZE PIXIE (4) was severely checked shortly after the start when runners either side shifted ground. LONG STOCKINGS (2) ran very wide rounding the first bend. Stewards were of the opinion that rounding the final turn CAWBOURNE KITT (1) focus of attention was on JINGALESS (8) for a short distance, after hearing submissions from Trainer C Weir, Stewards stood CAWBOURNE KITT down to complete a satisfactory trial as per Rule 81. |
| Race 6 | The Turf Bar Dash - C2 - 295 | Rounding the turn PHAT PANTS (1) was dragged down from behind by HARPIC (2) and lost all momentum. HARPIC shifted wider as a result and forced SARAH'S DOMAIN (6) wider on the track. PHAT PANTS was referred to the clubs veterinarian for assessment and cleared of injury. |
| Race 7 | Glenbyre Tavern Stakes - C1 - 520 | OPAWA GAVIN (2) shifted outwards in the early stages inconveniencing KNOW CLOWN (3) for a few strides. PUKEKO PROWLER (8) ran wide on the first bend. KNOW CLOWN covered extra ground in the back straight. |
| Race 8 | Kolorful Kanvas Dash - C2 - 295 | OPAWA LAZ (8) was slow through the initial stages. PUMA PANTS (4) was tightened and hampered when ZULU BRO (6) shifted inwards towards the running line. SMOKING MARLEY (2) was also hampered in this incident. |
| Race 9 | Shirley Vet Clinic Stakes - C1 - 520 | JASPER HAKA (3) and JEWEL APACHE (5) came together shortly after the start. PUKEKO THUNDER (8) ran very wide rounding the first bend and continued to run wide throughout. Rounding the bend HOMEBUSH SPOOK (2) was hampered when awkwardly placed on the heels of STARBURST CLEMMY (7). |
| Race 10 | Hampden Tavern Sprint - C2 - 295 | CAWBOURNE BUTTSY (2) and WANDY DESTINY (8) were slow to begin. PRIMITIVE (6) and WONKEY DONKEY (5) made firm contact when racing into the first turn. |
| Race 11 | Chris & Lisa Earl Dash - C2 - 295 | ROCKWOOD ARCHIE (5) was slow to begin. Into the first turn CHURCHILL CHASER (4) was checked when tight to the inside of ROCKWOOD ARCHIE. Rounding the bend RED EYE MAX (3) was hampered when awkwardly placed on the heels of GENIA HAKA (2), shifting outwards and forcing CEC DIVINE (7) over extra ground. Shortly thereafter CHLOE'S PRODIGY (6) shifted inwards and made firm contact with ROCKWOOD ARCHIE. CEC DIVINE shifted inwards checking RED EYE MAX and then tightened both CHLOE'S PRODIGY and ROCKWOOD ARCHIE. CHLOE'S PRODIGY was unbalanced for a short distance as a result. |
| Race 12 | Snow-e Muscle, Energy & Fertility Sprint - C2 - 295 | The start of this event was delayed 2 minutes on request from Race Day Control. UNRELIABLE ANDY (6) shifted inwards shortly after jumping and hampered TOKEN RAY (5), HOMEBUSH CRAIG (4) and BLITZING FLYER (3). HOMEBUSH CRAIG lost ground as a result. Into the first bend BANBIT (1) was jostled as UNRELIABLE ANDY continued to shift inwards. Rounding the bend LOOK AT LUCY (2) was hampered when tight to the inside of UNRELIABLE ANDY. BANBIT shifted off the heels of TOKEN RAY on straightening racing wide on the track from that point. . |
