HOMEBUSH ARIEL (3) was then checked and lost a length as kennelmate SPRINKLES (7) crossed to the lead. CAWBOURNE KIWI raced wide on the home turn. |
| Race 2 | Amber Cleaning Services Sprint - C3 - 295 | EVEN SEVEN (1) and HOMEBUSH ROCKY (8) were the slowest to jump. COSTING MONEY (3) ran inwards and lost ground in the early stages. Wider out MY MATE SPARROW (6) ran outwards coming together with WILL EXCITE (10) for a stride. HOMEBUSH BRUNO (5) lost ground on the bend and ran inwards and checked EVEN SEVEN which was attempting to improve along the rail. MY MATE SPARROW faltered and ran wide on the home turn tailing the field home with this dog being referred to the vet for assessment. |
| Race 3 | Thursday Place Pick Stakes - C3 - 520 | OPAWA JED (9) and OPAWA SAM (8) were the last pair on jumping. GEE CEE BEE (3), VOUSSOIR (4) and OPAWA ROCKY (5) all jostled for some strides in the early stages. OPAWA SAM ran wide around the first bend. VOUSSOIR ran wide on the home turn. |
| Race 4 | Power Farming Canterbury Sprint Heat 1 - C4q - 295 Heat 1 | Go TOMMO (8) was very slow to jump. SWISS ACE (5) lost ground into the bend when racing close to the outside of KNOW KNOWING (1). As a result OPAWA IDOL (2) angled wide and pushed BLUE GALE RISE (4) and GO TOMMO over extra ground. Into the bend BUSINESS AFFAIR (3) got on the heels of CAPTAIN'S CHOICE (7) and lost momentum. When questioned in regards to the improved performance of the winner TOKEN STU (6) Trainer J Rush stated that the dog had not travelled well to Dunedin for its last start on 7 November and tonight's draw was of assistance. |
| Race 5 | Power Farming Canterbury Sprint Heat 2 - C4q - 295 Heat 2 | RICK'S TERRA (3) and SMASH THAT (7) were the last pair on jumping. FIREMAN'S LEGACY (4) angled inwards into the bend causing tightening to LIFE'S A LAUGH (2) which was also dragged down losing many lengths. MULBERRY BROOK (5) and RICK'S TERRA were also badly inconvenienced in this incident with this quartet losing their chances. SMASH THAT raced wide on the home turn. LIFE'S A LAUGH was referred to the vet for assessment. |
| Race 6 | Power Farming Canterbury Sprint Heat 3 - C4q - 295 Heat 3 | BUTTERBEAN (5) collided with TEAM DREAM (7) shortly after dispatch stumbling and losing a length. Wider out ZORBA THE GREEK (8) lost ground as BUMP (6) ran outwards. TEAM DREAM angled inwards into the bend tightening ONLY GOT TIME (4) which lost ground and ran outwards pushing BUMP and ZORBA THE GREEK wide on the track. CHOKEHOLD (3) was also checked in this incident. ONLY GOT TIME and ZORBA THE GREEK both raced wide around the home turn. When questioned in regards to the improved performance of the winner IONA HAKA (1) kennel representative K O'Connor stated that the 1 draw and a downgrade were the main contributing factors. |
| Race 7 | Christchurch Casino Stakes - C4 - 520 | RUNAWAY TAXI (5) was last to jump. CAWBOURNE AXE (3) angled outwards into the first bend pushing THUMB PRINT TONY (4) and CAWBOURNE WITCH (7) wider on the track. |
| Race 8 | C.T.V. Dash - C5 - 295 | This race was delayed by one minute at the request of Raceday Control. ZIPPING JYE (3) who had angled inwards coming together with STAR DREAMER (2) then ducked outwards contacting FLYING SWAN (4) for a stride with FLYING SWAN settling last. STAR DREAMER (2) angled outwards into the bend causing KNOW JEALOUSY (5) to change ground to the inside. FLYING SWAN ran wide into the bend. STAR DREAMER ran wide on the home turn. STAR DREAMER and FLYING SWAN were both checked and cleared by the vet after being knocked over at the lure. |

| Race 10 | Clarkson Sign Studio Sprint - C5 - 295 | CRACKING CHAIN (3) was last to leave the traps. PLAGIARISM (6) ran sharply inwards in the early stages causing tightening to SOPHIE'S TERRA (5) and CAWBOURNE JELLY (4). ROQETTE (7) then ran inwards into the bend with SOPHIE'S TERRA and CAWBOURNE JELLY again being the victims and losing ground. SMASH RUMOUR (2) angled outwards into the bend with ROQETTE losing ground. SMASH RUMOUR and CAWBOURNE JELLY both ran wide on the home turn. |
| Race 11 | David Emerson Consultancy Dash - C5 - 295 | As HOMEBUSH CHOPPER (6) angled to the rail into the bend DYNA FILBERT (2), KERAMUS (3) and MER DE NOMS (5) were all tightened and settled in the rear group. RED HOT FURY (1) angled outwards into the bend with ANGEL NOIR (4) and BILLY WEST (7) being pushed wider on the track. KERAMUS shifted up the track when improving on the home turn with RED HOT FURY being forced wider. |
