Track: Good The weather was fine and the track was presented in good order. This was the first meeting where the new 660 metre boxes were in use and the three races from this start point were conducted without incident.

Race 1	www.pngreyhounds.kiwi C0 - C0 - 375	GLAD'S APOPPING and CLAMPED bumped together on three occasions in the early part of the race and GLAD'S APOPPING dropped back onto RANGER'S WALTZ on the bend and they lost two lengths. A short distance further on, GLAD'S APOPPING collided with RADIO GOO GOO and they were both unbalanced losing ground. Approaching the home turn, RADIO GOO GOO shifted out and collided with GLAD'S APOPPING and they both lost several lengths and finished at the rear.
Race 2	Yella Mustard At Stud C3 - C3 - 375	GOODTIME KATE was up in weight by 2.2 kilograms. However, after taking into account that the last two starts have been at Wanganui where the scales were not able to be used due to inaccurate readings, no charges were preferred. CRYSTAL WAVE shifted out slightly when the start was made and hampered GOODTIME KATE which lost ground and settled back but she finished well for 3rd place.
Race 3	Grant Irvine Pharmacy C1 - C1 - 457	KILLER LYON and MURTAUGH were having their first starts in New Zealand and since mid August and were up in weight by 1.5 and 2.6 kilograms respectively. GOLFING BUDDY began very awkwardly losing several lengths and all chance and she stayed back to finish last. BORIS shifted in going into the bend and crowded COOLABAH BLUE which lost a length. A short distance further on, COOLABAH BLUE checked over the heels of BORIS and shifted out checking KILLER LYON which lost three lengths.
Race 4	Greyhounds As Pets C4 - C4 - 375	KAZILLION shifted in abruptly from the start and caused checks to OPAWA LEAN MEAT, SIR RICHIE, KASIM, EVER SO HOPEFUL and FREEDOM FLYER with KASIM the most affected and she lost four lengths.
Race 5	No Moore Hassell Petfoods, Levin C2/3 - C2/3 - 457	All clear.
Race 6	Creative Catering, Awapuni C1 - C1 - 375	TOKEN RAY, BANJO'S RETREAT, TIME FOR WHAT and HOMEBUSH LUCIFER were slow to begin losing three lengths. HOMEBUSH LUCIFER and TOKEN RAY recovered very well to make up ground and they finished in 1st and 2nd places.
Race 7	Steve The Auctioneer Davis C1 - C1 - 375	BE PREPARED began awkwardly and settled back. BE PREPARED then checked off the heels of WHO YOU going into the bend and lost ground and he drifted from there and finished several lengths last. BE PREPARED was referred to the vet for assessment and and found to have gracilus,pectoral and tricep muscle injuries.
Race 8	Outback Trading Company Ltd C5 - C5 - 375	All clear.
Race 9	Nancy Cobain Heat 1 - C2dq - 660 Heat 1	NECTER, WHO DAT BOY, NOAKI HURRICANE and THRILLING LOGIC were all a little slow to begin losing two lengths. NECTER and WHO DAT BOY ran wide over extra ground going into the first corner.
Race 10	Nancy Cobain Heat 2 - C2dq - 660 Heat 2	OPAWA TANIA was checked soon after the start and settled back. JONESY'S FORTUNE was tightened and checked going into the first corner and shifted out forcing CAWBOURNE MIAMI, OPAWA TANIA, WHERE'S KEROMA and BOB'S EYE very wide into the bend and they lost several lengths. OPAWA TANIA recovered the best of the affected runners and she made up ground to finish in 2nd place.
Race 11	Nancy Cobain Heat 3 - C2dq - 660 Heat 3	THRILLING EVIE and ADDA BOY ZEKE were slow to begin and settled back. ALL ABOUT AMY shifted in going into the first corner and tightened OSTI'S PURSUIT onto SPEED LEGEND and they both lost three lengths. KING'S LEGACY was also affected in the incident and was forced a little wide into the bend.
Race 12	Rose City Motel, Palmerston North C4/5 - C4/5 - 457	The favourite TIFINO began very awkwardly losing several lengths but he did make up some ground to finish in 6th place. ALWAYS WELCOME which was also reasonably well supported, was also a little slow to begin and stayed back throughout to finish in last place.
