| Race 1 | www.greyhoundsaspets.org.nz - C0 - 310 | CELTIC HOUND and CABARITA made heavy contact on jumping with CELTIC HOUND being unbalanced and losing ground. Racing into the bend ANOTHER FORTUNE shifted in and made contact with INCREASING who lost momentum and had to shift ground outwards. Also at this point CABARITA shifted in crowding CHERIE CHERIE. On the final bend CHERIE CHERIE shifted out and hampered CABARITA. Into the final straight EBONY STAR shifted out hampering CELTIC HOUND. |
| Race 2 | Otago Bitches Feature Sprint - C1 - 310 | MARLENE'S TERRA and WINNIE WILLOW were slow to begin. Racing towards the bend STARBURST HANNAH shifted in checking LEMAQUIS WILLOW who was unbalanced shifting ground outwards and making heavy contact with BLUE HOBO who was also unbalanced and forced out onto MARLENE'S TERRA and WINNIE WILLOW with both these dogs being forced wider on the track. |
| Race 3 | Brian Bagley Driver Licensing Stakes - C0 - 545 | BOTANY LIZ shifted in at the start crowding and checking OPAWA VIV who lost ground. SACAJAWEA shifted out shortly after the start taking BOTANY LIZ wider on the track. At the winning post the first time EFFIE AWARDS shifted ground outwards taking SACAJAWEA wider on the track for some distance. EFFIE AWARDS and SACAJAWEA then jostled for several strides with both runners losing momentum. Stewards reviewed footage of this incident but on the films available were satisfied this was not a marring incident and deemed no further action necessary. Also racing into the first bend WEARS THE GOLD shifted ground outwards hampering OPAWA OPAL. |
| Race 4 | Green Island Barber Stakes - C1 - 545 | GOLD VIPA shifted in abruptly at the start sending NOGGIN inwards onto FANCY KIWI, CLARETOWN LEROY and CAWBOURNE MIAMI who were all buffeted with CLARETOWN LADY being checked and losing momentum. Racing into the first bend SOUMILLON has made brief contact with the rail and lost ground. Stewards ordered a post race veterinary examination of CLARETOWN LEROY who tailed the field throughout eventually finishing a distant last. The subsequent examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards acting under Rule 81.1 deemed the performance of CLARETOWN LEROY to be unsatisfactory and advised the connections the greyhound must complete a satisfactory trial prior to racing next. |
| Race 5 | Pryde Engineering Feature Sprint - C1 - 310 | COWABUNGA was slow to begin. In the run to the turn HARPIC has shifted inwards crowding LINCOLN FLYER, GIGANAIRE and ANOTHER PLANE who were all buffeted with ANOTHER PLANE losing ground. Also hampered in this incident was the trailing COWABUNGA who lost ground. Further into the turn COWABUNGA angled outwards crowding BIZZARO with the trailing MONACO DENVER being checked. On the turn for home MONACO DENVER has shifted out taking CEDRIC BAXTER wider on the track for several strides. Stewards also reviewed this incident when considering a marring charge but on reviewing replays available no further action was deemed necessary. |
| Race 6 | Forbury Sports Bar Sprint - C2 - 310 | GOLSTAR MARIO was slow to begin. OPAWA RUFUS and SAN SEBASTIAN jostled for several strides just after the start. GYPSY HUNTER shifted inwards in the run down the back checking OPAWA RUFUS. On the final bend OPAWA RUFUS shifted out taking GYPSY HUNTER wider on the track. Into the straight and SHEZ KEEN had to shift ground outwards across heels to find clear racing room. |
| Race 7 | Speedprint Shop Stakes - C2 - 545 | SPEEDY SWEDE was slow to begin. KNOW SECURITY shifted in crowding BOTANY COMET, QUE TEE PIX and HYPERPARADISE. As a result HYPERPARADISE shifted inwards crowding MR BARRY and KAREN'S MAGIC.. In the run down the first straight JESSIE SURFS and MR BARRY jostled with MR BARRY being shifted wider on the track on the first turn. At the end of the back straight the tiring QUE TEE PIX has shifted in crowding MR BARRY who lost ground. The handler of KAREN'S MAGIC referred the dog to the on course veterinarian following this race and was treated for minor lacerations to the right front leg. KAREN'S MAGIC was stood down for 7 days as a result. |
| Race 8 | Brocklebanks Dry Cleaners Stakes - C3 - 545 | OPAWA STYLE shifted in as the start was made crowding THUMB PRINT TONY who was forced down onto KNOW CERTAINTY who was buffeted with THUMB PRINT TONY eventually being checked. In the run to the first turn CHLOE'S PRODIGY has shifted inwards and been turned sideways when making contact with BRIGHTON BULLET who was crowded and had to shift wider on the track. Further into the turn THUMB PRINT TONY has galloped onto the back of OPAWA STYLE with both dogs losing momentum. |
| Race 9 | Roofing Solutions Stakes - C4/5 - 545 | OPAWA WEBBY and BOTANY KEVIN were slow to begin. In the run to the turn CAWBOURNE FLOYD shifted in making firm contact with KNOW AMBITION with both dogs being momentarily unbalanced. At the same time HOMEBUSH CHOPPER shifted in and made firm contact with STOLEN MONEY. BOTANY KEVIN ran wide racing into the first bend. |
| Race 10 | Green Island Super Liquor Sprint - C3 - 310 | CLAREMONT PIZZAZ was slow to begin. In the run down the back IRISH BLUE shifted in crowding GOLDSTAR CHUMLEE and OPAWA HOG who both became unbalanced and lost ground. On the final turn SMASH AMY had to change ground twice when awkwardly placed on the heels of ADVANCED PEDRO. |
| Race 11 | Bramwell Scaffolding Sprint - C5 - 310 | HOMEBUSH KELSO and SOZIN'S COMET both stumbled out of the boxes and were slow to begin. KERAMUS was also slow to begin. Racing towards the turn SOZIN'S COMET shifted in buffeting and unbalancing KERAMUS momentarily. Further into the bend OSCAR TUIVASA has shifted in crowding and checking BOTANY JESSIE. KETUT raced wide rounding the bend and in the straight. |
| Race 12 | Racing Again Tuesday 19th August - C4 - 310 | RED HOT FURY was slow to begin. From the jump MY MATE SPARROW shifted ground outwards checking WANDY GRANT. In the run to the turn OPAWA COLIN ran outwards and DILLMANSTOWN ran in with BOTANY SEATON tightened between these runners. Into the turn BELLWAVE checked off the heels of KNOW LIES checking OPAWA COLIN and forcing WANDY GRANT wide. OPAWA COLIN and MY MATE SPARROW both ran very wide in the home straight. |
