Weather: Showery
Track: Dead . Track surrounds and access to the greyhound track were extremely wet and muddy, and with showers throughout, Stewards gave dispensation to some handlers to replace muddy wet weather over-trousers with non standard coloured leggings.

Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: S Hurd, kennel representative for trainer M Grant, admitted a breach of Rule 69.11 in that STARBURST HANNAH was presented for race 3 in excess of 1.5kgs (1.8kgs) from its previous race day weight on the 8th of July 2014. A fine of $100 was subsequently issued by way of a minor infringement.

Race 1	www.southlandgreyhounds.co.nz - C0 - 390	ARCHIE'S PLAN began awkwardly and lost ground at the start. CELTIC HOUND shifted outwards in the run to the bend. Racing into the bend SPARROW was struck from behind by ARCHIE'S PLAN.
Race 2	BRENDON BURKE @ FIRST NATIONAL - C1 - 390	CHARLES FREDERICK was slow to begin. Shortly after the start ZULU DEB was checked when racing between TURBO TUNDRA and CAWBOURNE MONARO. In the run to the bend HOMEBUSH SAXON and JOYNER KERSEE jostled on several occasions with the trailing ROCKWOOD ARCHIE being inconvenienced. ZULU DEB was checked again on the bend when racing between TURBO TUNDRA and CAWBOURNE MONARO.
Race 3	ADDED ENERGY STAKES - C1 - 390	In the run to the bend STARBURST HANNAH shifted inwards tightening several runners on the inside with HOMEBUSH CRUDEN, QUE TEE CHICKS and COSMIC BOLERO all receiving checks.
Race 4	GREYHOUNDSASPETS.ORG.NZ - C2 - 390	GLENN IS GOODSEY jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Into the turn THRILLING JAMES was tightened between GYPSY HUNTER and TRUMPED UP. Shortly after SAM'S FLYIN NORM shifted ground inwards and checked TRUMPED UP with the trailing GYPSY HUNTER also checked and going back on top of THRILLING JAMES with both these dogs losing all chances.
Race 5	SGRC $50 LEATHER LEADS - C3 - 390	ZULU BRO and OPAWA COLIN were both slow to begin. BROKEN PEDRO was tightened for room racing into the bend by CHOKEHOLD which was improving on its outside. LA FONTAINE checked off the heels of OPAWA LEAN MEAT and SMASH AMY on the bend losing its momentum. OPAWA COLIN raced wide throughout the running.
Race 6	SOUTHLAND & OTAGO PHOTO FINISH - C0 - 457	OHOKA TOO SOON, SHINES BRIGHT and PUMA PANTS all jostled through the early stages. Just prior to the bend LADY MUI checked off the inside of BOTANY LIZ. SHINES BRIGHT, LADY MUI, PUMA PANTS and PUKEKO WARRIOR all buffeted one another at the point of the bend.
Race 7	ASCOT PARK HOTEL - C1 - 457	JASPER HAKA and CAWBOURNE CRUZE both made contact racing into the bend. SPEEDY SWEDE, HE'S A JESSIE and RUNAWAY TAXI all jostled on the point of the bend when vying for the lead.
Race 8	SGRC $26 FIVE WIRE MUZZLE STAKES - C2 - 457	HYPERPARADISE shifted outwards at the jump making contact with KAREN'S MAGIC. THUMB PRINT TONY and HOMEBUSH TIARE jostled racing to the first bend. On the bend OPAWA MICHELLE shifted outwards resulting in HOMEBUSH TIARE, HYPERPARADISE and KAREN'S MAGIC all being forced wider on the track.
Race 9	WOODEND STAKES - C3 - 457	HIS LORDSHIP was very slow to begin losing several lengths. FLYING SWAN shifted outwards on the bend making contact with WUNZEE.
Race 10	GREENHILLS STAKES - C4/5 - 457	On the bend CAWBOURNE WAR checked off the heels of OPULENT with OPAWA CASPER being inconvenienced.
Race 11	BLUFF STAKES - C4 - 390	No racing incidents to report.
Race 12	justracing.com.au - C5 - 390	On the point of the bend NOBLE FANTASY and ON THE LEVEL made contact. Shortly afterwards HOMEBUSH CHURRO was checked when running out of racing room between OSCAR TUIVASA and IONA HAKA. As result ON THE LEVEL was forced wider on the track by HOMEBUSH CHURRO.
