Judicial report: (1) Co trainer S Evans admitted a breach of Rule 64.2 in that he withdrew GOLDSTAR BOMBER without a valid reason and was fined $150 under the Minor Infringement Table. GOLDSTAR BOMBER was subsequently stood down for a period of 28 days until the 5th of August 2014 pursuant to Rule 64.3. (2) Following the running of Race 1 SMASH WHO (M Grant) was required to complete a Box Trial in accordance with Rule 72.13. (3) In Race 9 HOMEBUSH KELSO was declared a late scratching pursuant to Rule 76.9 after HOMEBUSH KELSO caught its foot in the grille of the lids.

Race 1	SGRC $26 FIVE WIRE MUZZLE STAKES - C0 - 390	At the start SMASH WHO turned in the starting boxes and lost all chance. Under Rule 72.13 SMASH WHO is required to complete a Box Trial before starting in a race. ARCHIE'S PLAN was very slow to jump. On the turn RANGITATA RAIDER checked out off the heels of GOLDSTAR DEEJAY and ran wide.
Race 2	www.southlandgreyhounds.co.nz - C0 - 390	At the jump CABARITA shifted sharply inwards and checked PUKEKO WARRIOR.
Race 3	BRENDON BURKE @ FIRST NATIONAL - C1 - 390	JESSIE SURFS checked off the heels of MR NOVEMBER at the start losing its balance and momentum. On the bend TRUMPED UP struck WANDY FEATHER resulting in a severe check to WANDY FEATHER. QUE TEE CHICKS angled away from WANDY FEATHER with TONY'S CHOICE and MR NOVEMBER both being forced wider on the track. TONY'S CHOICE and MR NOVEMBER made contact, resulting in MR NOVEMBER being unbalanced and losing several lengths.
Race 4	ADDED ENERGY STAKES - C0 - 457	SACAJAWEA was slow to jump. From the jump LADY MUI shifted ground inwards checking OHOKA TOO SOON. Into the turn WALL AGE and LADY MUI jostled. Shortly afterwards WEARS THE GOLD ran outwards and was clipped from behind by WALL AGE with both these dogs running wide on the bend.
Race 5	GREYHOUNDSASPETS.ORG.NZ - C1 - 457	From the jump GOLDSTAR ROSIE shifted ground inwards checking ARCHIE'S COMET. In the run to the turn RUNAWAY TAXI pushed outwards checking PUKEKO PROWLER. Into the turn PUKEKO PROWLER ran outwards and pushed ARCHIE'S COMET wide. Then on the turn ZULU DEB shifted ground outwards off the heels of RUNAWAY TAXI and forced GOLDSTAR ROSIE wide.
Race 6	SOUTHLAND & OTAGO PHOTO FINISH - C2/3 - 457	OPAWA BOMB shifted inwards at the start forcing CAWBOURNE POLLY down the track. OPAWA ALBIE which was racing handy to the lead on the bend gradually gave ground finishing in last placing. The Stewards requested a post race veterinary examination of OPAWA ALBIE which revealed OPAWA ALBIE was suffering lameness in the right hind leg with a 21 day stand down recommended.
Race 7	ASCOT HOTEL - C2 - 390	SAM'S FLYIN NORM shifted inwards in the run to the turn resulting in THRILLING JAMES and SMASH AMY being tightened for room. On the bend VIENNA checked off the heels of NO MORE BEERSIES. At the straight entrance NO MORE BEERSIES which was leading was galloped on from behind by SAM'S FLYIN NORM with NO MORE BEERSIES becoming severely unbalanced and losing all momentum. A post race veterinary examination of NO MORE BEERSIES confirmed NO MORE BEERSIES had suffered a laceration to the left hind thigh with a recommended stand down period of 14 days.
Race 8	SGRC $50 LEATHER LEADS - C3 - 390	CHOKEHOLD was slow to jump. Shortly after the start BIGTIME TIP, BOTANY PRANCER, ANOTHER ANOTHER and BROKEN PEDRO all came together resulting in BOTANY PRANCER and ANOTHER ANOTHER becoming unbalanced and giving ground. On the bend BIGTIME TIP checked off the heels of GOLDSTAR CHUMLEE. Shortly afterwards GOLDSTAR CHUMLEE shifted off the heels of BROKEN PEDRO and CHOKEHOLD, with GOLDSTAR CHUMLEE then striking the hind quarters of CHOKEHOLD.
Race 9	MYROSS BUSH SPRINT - C4 - 390	At the start HOMEBUSH KELSO begun awkwardly when its foot was caught in the grill of the lids as they were activated. MCJOPSON and WAIMAK DAVE both jostled racing into the bend and rounding the bend. INDI'S GRACE checked off the heels of WAIMAK DAVE shortly afterwards. Stewards withheld authorisation of payments until reviewing the race start. Stewards declared HOMEBUSH KELSO a late scratching pursuant to Rule 76.9 as, in their opinion, HOMEBUSH KELSO had been denied a fair start when its foot was caught in the lids.
Race 10	WINTER STAKES - C1/2 - 457	JOHN DORY jumped awkwardly and stumbled at the jump. BOTANY COMET shifted in at the start making contact with SHEZ KEEN. TOKEN STU, GOLDSTAR JEANIE and FLYING SWAN all jostled over the early stages with FLYING SWAN becoming unbalanced. BOTANY COMET lost ground racing into the bend when tightened between SHEZ KEEN and FLYING SWAN.
Race 11	[email protected] - C5 - 457	Into the turn HARLEM HAKA shifted ground inwards tightening BOTANY KEVIN with OPAWA NO EAR losing ground and inconveniencing the trailing FINN MCMISSILE.
Race 12	justracing.com.au - C5 - 390	From the jump ANOTHER JEWEL shifted ground outwards and checked SMASH RUMOUR. Into the turn OSCAR TUIVASA ran inwards and tightened BAD WEEK. Shortly afterwards LYNNY SOUTHCOMBE shifted ground out checking TWO WAYS with ROQETTE forced out and dictating LITTLE MIDNIGHT wide on the bend.
