HEY YOU appeared to be awkward in his galloping action from the start and drifted to the rear soon after and finished a distance last. HEY YOU was referred to the Vet for assessment and cleared of injury at that time. |
| Race 2 | LIQUORLAND WANGANUI C2 - C2 - 305 | DAISY'S BOI shifted in going to the first corner and checked EMPTY BANK which went back to the rear. DONKEY DEEP shifted in going into the bend and crowded IT'S A DOLL which eventually had to check and went back through the field. EMPTY BANK which had been checked back to the rear, then shifted out and collided with IT'S A DOLL which lost another two lengths and tailed the field from there to the finish. |
| Race 3 | PALAMOUNTAINS SCIENTIFIC NUTRITION C1/2 - C1/2 - 520 | JUST MAC was tightened between SUE SEWS SOCKS and ALL ABOUT AMY going into the first corner and was checked back to the rear. In the incident, JUST MAC clipped the heels of ALL ABOUT AMY who shifted out forcing DARBY LANE to race a little wide into the bend. |

FIGLIA continued to shift out and checked LOOKS ALL GOOD going into the first bend. LOOKS ALL GOOD then shifted in and caused checks to STARBURST BLANCH and RINGA DING and thye lost four lengths and finished at the rear. |
| Race 7 | CROMBIE LOCKWOOD (NZ) LTD C4 - C4 - 305 | ISABELLE DOMAIN shifted in from the start and caused checks to MATILDA'S BABE and CAWBOURNE RAVE and they settled at the rear and stayed there throughout the race. |
| Race 8 | WANGANUI CHRONICLE C4 - C4 - 305 | SHAGA BANGA BANG and REBEL CITY were a little slow to begin. SHAGA BANGA BANG recovered well to make up ground and won the race. JUST A MATE was tightened between SHEIK EM UP and BOSTON BLAZE going into the bend and was checked and galloped on from behind. She then shifted out abruptly onto MISS MCFLY and REBEL CITY with all three runners being severely checked, losing several lengths. |
| Race 9 | HARRISON HIRE MASTER C4/5 - C4/5 - 305 | ARMED FORCES shifted in from the start and caused a check to ROTOVEGAS BOSS which settled back. WATERBUG shifted out from the start and caused checks to BOLT RAMA, CHOCDEE ALICE and LOST IN LIGHT which all lost ground. POPSOME TAGS shifted in on the bend and checked ROTOVEGAS BOSS which lost four lengths and he never recovered and finished in 2nd last place. |
| Race 10 | KEENAN CONCRETE C5 - C5 - 520 | RITZA DANNY shifted in from the start and checked WAY TOO CRUDE, MAMMY BROWN and BIGTIME JET and they lost ground and settled back. WAY TOO CRUDE and MAMMY BROWN came together going into the first bend and bumped losing ground and they stayed back for the remainder of the race. |
