| Race 1 | Affordable Pet Accessories Sprint - C2 - 375 | Racing toward the first turn SNAPCHAT (5) was tightened and checked when FANCY MY LUCK (6) shifted in making contact with this runner. SNAPCHAT lost ground as a result going back in the field into the line of PSEUDONYM (1) who was also checked. Entering the first turn THOU ROMEO (7) clipped the heels of BELRANI (8) and fell. Inconvenienced, then racing wide as a result, was KING LUMPY (4) who was trailing this runner. THOU ROMEO recovered quickly after falling to finish the race. KING LUMPY was referred to the vet for assessment. THOU ROMEO and SNAPCHAT were referred to the vet for assessment following this event and cleared of any injuries. |
| Race 2 | YGOT Bonus Scheme Sprint - C3 - 375 | NO MORE LAUGHTER (2) and JUNIOR WHAT (8) both began awkwardly. CAWBOURNE ONYX (3) and THRILLING CHARLY (4) came together entering the first turn. LAFAYETTE (1) was checked losing ground racing into the first turn when NO MORE LAUGHTER shifted in. JUNIOR WHAT got on the heels of UNO ALLEGRO (7) entering the first bend with both runners momentarily inconvenienced. SENORITA CHANG (6) ran very wide rounding the final bend. SENORITA CHANG was referred to the vet for assessment which revealed no obvious abnormalities. NO MORE LAUGHTER fell at the lure and was referred to the vet for assessment. It was observed the inside catch on the boxes was not completely locked in. The payment of dividends was withheld until such time until Stewards were satisfied this had not materially prejudiced the chances of any runner. Remedial work was carried and the boxes were tested to satisfaction prior to the next race. Starter G Sharp was issued with a warning under rule 72.2 and advised that in future he is to ensure the boxes are secure prior to the start. |
| Race 3 | Perry Aggregates Ltd Sprint - C2 - 375 | EXCITING DREAM (3) and RIBA LORDA (5) came together and jostled for a distance racing down the back straight. Racing into the first turn RUSHIN DOLL (4), RIBA LORDA (5) and URAH BOLT (6) were all tightened and checked between EXCITING DREAM (3) and URBAN COMBAT (7) who shifted in. As a result URBAN COMBAT, RUSHIN DOLL, UTAH BOLT and RIBA LORDA all lost ground. |
| Race 4 | Palamountains Nutrition Series Heat 1 - C4q - 375 Heat 1 | RUBY TRON (7) was last to leave the boxes. PREDATOR DRONE (4), CLOVER APPEAL (3) and AUNTY MERL (2) were all tightened soon after the start when SNUFFALOPOGAS (5) angled in. Racing into the first turn CLOVER APPEAL got on the heels of SNUFFALOPOGAS who was unbalanced losing momentum going back onto the compact field. Inconvenienced losing ground as a result were CLOVER APPEAL, SNUFFALOPOGAS, PREDATOR DRONE, RUBY TRON and RUN KAYLA RUN (6). The worst affected was RUBY TRON who was dragged down when RUN KAYLA RUN got on this runners heels. RUN KAYLA RUN then raced wide. RUBY TRON was referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of any injuries. |
| Race 5 | Palamountains Nutrition Series Heat 2 - C4q - 375 Heat 2 | CARUBA QUEEN (6) checked and shifted out off the heels of GAINSFORD (7) rounding the final bend. NGAURUHOE (8) raced wide rounding the final bend. |
| Race 6 | General Engravers Stakes - C1 - 457 | MEDICINAL (4) and RADLEE REASON (6) were slow away. Entering the first turn MEDICINAL made contact with the hindquarters of SOUTH BAY DREAM (3) who was checked losing ground going back into the line of RADLEE REASON who was inconvenienced. |
| Race 7 | Palamountains Nutrition Series Heat 3 - C4q - 375 Heat 3 | HIGH FLYER (2) was inconvenienced when tightened between ROTOVEGAS DOT (1) and RUAPEHU (3), leaving the boxes. HIGH FLYER was inconvenienced racing down the back straight when ROTOVEGAS DOT shifted out. HIGH FLYER then shifted out making contact with MAHONIE (5) with these runners again making contact entering the first turn, losing ground as a result. ETERNAL MAGIC (4) appeared to falter and gave ground rounding the bend when racing clear in the lead. ETERNAL MAGIC continued to give ground finishing a distant last. ETERNAL MAGIC was referred to the vet for assessment and was found to have pain in the right triceps muscle. |
| Race 8 | 0800 4 Down Cow Sprint - C3 - 375 | BORASCO (6) and YA LAUGHIN' (7) were slow away. ACTING UP (8) raced wide rounding the final bend. |
| Race 9 | The Clubhouse Sports Bar Stakes - C3/4 - 457 | Racing down the back straight COLD TURKEY (5) was tightened between MAGIC FANCY (4) and MAGIC BOLT (8) who shifted in, before shifting out to obtain clear running. MAGIC BOLT then continued to shift in with FLYING MOE (3), who was trailing, then shifting out and into the line of PREMIER OSTI who got on the heels of FLYING MOE, becoming unbalanced and nearly falling losing its chance. PREMIER OSTI was referred to the vet for assessment and found to have split webbing with a 7 day stand down imposed. |
| Race 10 | All Sew Embroidery Stakes - C5 - 457 | GHOST WRITER (4) and ZAGATO (5) made contact for several strides racing down the back straight with GHOST WRITER becoming unbalanced. GHOST WRITER then shifted out making contact with ZIPPING ORRICK (6) losing ground. Entering the first turn BOTANY JUNCTION (7) shifted in making contact with ZIPPING ORRICK who lost ground. BOTANY JUNCTION then continued to shift in onto ZAGATO who lost ground. Rounding the final bend SPITFIRE OSTI (8) made contact with the hindquarters of MAGICO (1) who was unbalanced shifting out into the line of ZAGATO (5) who got on this runners heels with both runners losing ground as a result. |
| Race 11 | Fond Foods Ltd Sprint - C5 - 375 | VIVA VANE (3) was slow away. Soon after the start EXPLOSIVE OSTI (6) shifted in checking CRACKLES APPEAL (5), who lost ground, then continued to shift in tightening UP THERE HERBIE (4) in onto ROTOVEGAS RAT. JOSH HART (1) had to steady off the heels of EXPLOSIVE OSTI entering the first bend. VIVA VANE (3) was tightened and checked entering the first turn when placed in restricted room to the inside of ROTOVEGAS RAT. Rounding the bend KISSEN RUN (8) made contact with the hindquarters of JOSH HART before shifting out across this runners heels into the line of UP THERE HERBIE who got on this runners heels with both runners unbalanced and losing their chances as a result. |
| Race 12 | Superior Chunky Dog Rolls Stakes - C2 - 457 | TONGARIRO (2) was last to leave the boxes. SHANDELL (4) and MAGIC ARROW (3) came together soon after the start with MAGIC ARROW then shifting in coming together with TONGARIRO with these runners then jostling for a distance losing ground as a result. Entering the first turn SHANDELL made solid contact with PIRATE LORE (1) who lost ground. |
| Race 13 | Non Tote Sprint - Tier 2 - 375 | MAJOR TOM (7) began awkwardly losing a length or so. OPAWA CRUSHER (3) and BOSS MAN SLOY (4) came together on several occasions racing into the first turn then jostled for a distance with both runners unbalanced losing ground. |
