Judicial report: Trainer A Williams contacted Stewards and advised that COALPIT MICK had suffered a shoulder injury on Friday at Addington necessitating the dog to be scratched from today's meeting.

Race 1 Placemakers Ashburton Stakes - C1 - 520 OPAWA GAVIN (3) was a little slow away. PUKEKO PROWLER (7) was crowded shortly after the start between THUMB PRINT TONY (6) and GOLD VIPA (8) which shifted in. Entering the first bend PUKEKO PROWLER lost ground when crowded to the inside of GOLD VIPA. Rounding the first bend OPAWA GAVIN checked when crowded to the inside of THUMB PRINT TONY which shifted in.
Race 2 Ritchies Coachlines Sprint - C2 - 295 LOOK AT LUCY (8) and HERSHY PIE (5) were slow away. TOKEN STU (2) and GOLDSTAR MARIO (3) bumped on jumping. DITCHED (9) shift inwards shortly after the start and bump WUNZEE (4). Leaving the back straight GOLDSTAR MARIO (3) continued to shift out and bump DITCHED (9) which lost ground. Rounding the bend GOLDSTAR MARIO (3) shifted outwards and checked across the heels of GOLDSTAR CHUMLEE (7). Entering the home straight DITCHED (9) was buffeted between HERSHY PIE (5) and LOOK AT LUCY (8) with all runners becoming unbalance
Race 3 Happy Birthday Janine Jopson Stakes - C1/2 - 520 OPAWA BRO (4), MISS SELFIES (7) and FEAR GO (8) were slow away. Entering the first turn GOLDSTAR JEANIE (6) steadied away from VOUSSOIR (3) which shifted out.
Race 4 Springston Hotel Dash - C3 - 295 WHITEY'S GONE (5) jumped very awkwardly and lost ground. In the back straight MCJOPSON (2) and HOMEBUSH KELSO (3) were crowded between ADVANCED PEDRO (1) and SHEZA GAMBLE (4) both of which shifted ground. Entering the bend ADVANCED PEDRO (1) continued to shift out and hampered HOMEBUSH KELSO (3) and the trailing MCJOPSON (2) resulting in HOMEBUSH KELSO (3) and ADVANCED PEDRO (1) losing ground.
Race 5 Active Electrical Christchurch Stakes - C2/3 - 520 PUKEKO THUNDER (8) was very slow to begin and OPAWA JED (6) was slow away. Rounding the first bend CAWBOURNE AXE (4) and IDOL GIRL (7) came together with IDOL GIRL (7) becoming unbalanced and losing ground. At the same time AMBILIGHT (2) commenced to shift out and became very awkward on the heels of IDOL GIRL (7), resulting in AMBILIGHT (2) making heavy contact with CAWBOURNE POLLY (5) and AMBILIGHT (2) losing considerable ground. Shortly after CAWBOURNE POLLY (5) shifted back in and bumped PUKEKO THUNDER (8). PUKEKO THUNDER (8) race wide for some distance thereafter. A post race veterinary examination of AMBILIGHT (2) and IDOL GIRL (7) failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
Race 6 Bruce & Anne Dann Sprint - C5 - 295 In the back straight SPRINKLES (6) shifted inwards and crowded ANOTHER JEWEL (4) onto LYNNY SOUTHCOMBE (2), resulting in ANOTHER JEWEL (4) and LYNNY SOUTHCOMBE (2) losing ground and KNOW JEALOUSY (9) which was racing inside LYNNY SOUTHCOMBE (2) being hampered. Leaving the bend ANOTHER JEWEL (4) was crowded and checked between KNOW JEALOUSY (9) and LYNNY SOUTHCOMBE (2) which shifted out.
Race 7 Jane & Len Hart Memorial Stakes - C3/4 - 520 GOLDSTAR BELLA (3) weighed in 1.8kgs less than its previous weigh-in, with co-trainer B Evans advising it was an intentional loss of weight. As the dog had not raced in the preceding 28 days, no action was taken. Shortly after jumping OPAWA BOMB (8) shifted in and bumped BRIGHTON BULLET (7). Entering the first bend OPAWA RAPID (1) shifted outwards and crowded BRIGHTON BULLET (7) onto OPAWA BOMB (8), resulting in BRIGHTON BULLET (7) losing ground. OPAWA RAPID (1) continued to shift out and bumped OPAWA BOMB (8). OPAWA ZARA (4) and HOMEBUSH VIOLET (5) bumped rounding the first bend and carried FALSE NOTION (6) wider on the track.
Race 8 J.H. Cleary "Hows It Going" Memorial - C5 - 295 KNOW LIES (2) was slow away. SOZIN'S COMET (5) and TAKE NO PRISONER (6) were a little slow to begin. Entering the bend RUSTY KNIFE (7) was crowded and lost ground between MR WHIPPY (8) and CAWBOURNE JELLY (4) which shifted out. Rounding the bend CAWBOURNE JELLY (4) lost ground after being hampered by HETFIELD (1) which shifted out. A post race veterinary examination of SOZIN'S COMET (5) failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
Race 9 Wal Walsh Memorial - R/A - 520 Acting on a veterinary report stating BOTANY DAVE (5) had injured its left wrist at kennelling, the dog was declared a late scratching at 11:00am. Rounding the first bend KNOW AMBITION (2) shifted outwards and bumped CARAT'S PRINCE (3), result in KNOW AMBITION (2) becoming unbalanced and losing ground. Approaching the winning post CARAT'S PRINCE (3) checked away from WHAT I LIKE (8) which shifted out
Race 10 Big Dog Pet Food Products Connie Smallridge Ashburton Cup - C5 - 520 DREAM COLLECTOR (1) jumped awkwardly and lost considerable ground. RUSSELL HART (8) was slow away. Entering the first bend OPAWA NO EAR (7) shifted inwards and crowded STOLEN MONEY (5) onto PUNCH ON JAIME (3) which lost ground. Rounding the bend PUNCH ON JAIME (3) shifted out and bumped DREAM COLLECTOR (1). RUSSELL HART (8) raced wide for the majority of the race.
Race 11 Christchurch Demolition & Salvage Distance - C2d - 645 OPAWA TANIA (4) was slow to begin. Rounding the first bend THRILLING SOUND (6) and STICH UP (7) came together. Shortly after passing the winning post on the first occasion OPAWA TANIA (4) steadied and shifted out across the heels of STICH UP (7). OPAWA TANIA (4) and DEANNE'S FANTASY (3) came together on straightening.
Race 12 Rabbiters Rest Bistro @ Springston Hotel Sprint - C4 - 295 ELKI (5) was crowded between runners shortly after the start and lost ground. Entering the bend ELKI (5) shifted out and bumped MAKER'S LABEL (6).
