Track: Good . Following on from prior reports on the slow opening action of the starting box lids, the club has in the past two weeks removed, tested and checked the tension on the springs at the 390m, 457m and 630m starting boxes, as well as checking and testing the hydraulic mechanisms on each of the boxes. The club will work with the Southern Institute of Technology using cameras to check on the lids opening speeds and monitor this at the next race meeting. Stewards are satisfied that the club is taking a proactive stance on the problem, making adjustments, and checking all possible avenues to remedy the slowness. There was an improvement noticeable in opening speeds at today's meeting with only one superficial minor injury attended to in race 6.

Race 1	WANTED FIFTY PEOPLE - C0 - 390	WALL AGE was slow to begin. BOTANY SAL and BURNO made contact over the early stages. Racing into the bend BURNO was tightened when racing between BOTANY SAL and HE'S A JESSIE losing ground. WALL AGE and MASTER AT ARMS both ran wide on the bend.
Race 2	TO FORM A SYNDICATE - C1 - 390	TOKEN RAY jumped awkwardly. On the bend HAZZA'S LAD was checked when racing between TOKEN RAY and TANTO'S WHISPER. Rounding the bend WANDY ON IN raced wide. BLACK TRIGGER drifted outwards in the home straight inconveniencing TOKEN RAY.
Race 3	TO RACE A GREYHOUND - C1 - 390	HARPIC, OPAWA HOG and CAWBOURNE STATE all made contact over the early stages. On the bend MILLIE'S BOY which had improved to challenge for the lead made contact with HARPIC on its inside. As a result MILLIE'S BOY lost ground checking OPAWA HOG. CAWBOURNE STATE raced wide rounding the bend.
Race 4	TO RACE A PACER - C1/2 - 390	JACK'S A JEWEL shifted in sharply at the jump checking JASPER HAKA, ROCKWOOD ARCHIE and SAM'S FLYIN NORM on its inside. MASSAGE ONLY ran wide on the bend.
Race 5	TO RACE A GALLOPER - C1/2 - 457	On the turn CAWBOURNE IMPACT ran wide. Into the home straight OPAWA BART who was leading shifted outwards and lost momentum.
Race 6	EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST - C4 - 390	Into the turn WANDY JEWEL shifted ground outwards checking OPAWA LEAN MEAT and inconveniencing MISS SWEET. Following the race WANDY JEWEL was referred to the veterinarian for assessment with a superficial graze above the right eye detected and no stand down recommended.
Race 7	[email protected] - C1 - 457	SOUMILLON was slow to jump and then into the turn when improving checked off the heels of THUMB PRINT TONY forcing SAILORS COLLAR wide. Into the home straight PUKEKO PROWLER shifted ground outwards and pushed THUMB PRINT TONY wide.
Race 8	PHONE (03) 2156206 - C1/2 - 390	CHOKEHOLD shifted inwards at the start dictating the line of VIENNA. On the bend JOHN DORY shifted inwards checking OPAWA LUCKY. JOHN DORY checked off the heels of WUNZEE on the bend dictating CHOKEHOLD wider. ADMIRAL ADAM raced wide on the bend.
Race 9	Racing Series Graduation Final - NZRSf - 457	HOMEBUSH VIOLET shifted inwards at the start crowding JINJA RUBY, CARAT'S PRINCE, IDOL GIRL and PUKEKO THUNDER. In the run to the bend IDOL GIRL raced in restricted room and shifted ground outwards for racing room. On the bend TOKEN KAY which was leading shifted outwards dictating WAIMAK DAVE and JINJA RUBY wider on the track. Shortly afterwards PUKEKO THUNDER shifted outwards forcing WAIMAK DAVE onto JINJA RUBY which was checked.
Race 10	BRENDON BURKE @ FIRST NATIONAL - C3/4 - 457	GRUNT RODGERS was tightened after the jump when racing between BOTANY DAVE and BOB'S EYE. On the turn MR SQUIZZY raced wide.
Race 11	ADDED ENERGY STAKES - C5 - 457	Prior to the race OPAWA CASPER was cleared by the veterinarian to race after striking its head in the kennelling block. From the jump NO UNDIES SUNDY shifted ground inwards and tightened CAWBOURNE WAR. Into the turn CHARLIE'S CHOICE raced in restricted room and lost ground.
Race 12	justracing.com.au - C5 - 390	MY MATE SPARROW jumped awkwardly and as a result lost several lengths. MY MATE SPARROW then ran wide on the bend and down the final straight. The Stewards requested a veterinary examination of MY MATE SPARROW, which revealed MY MATE SPARROW was suffering a right triceps muscle injury with a 14 day stand down recommended.
