Track: Good The track was well presented and the meeting proceeded smoothly apart from the race which was abandoned.

Health and Safety comment: Nil

Judicial report: Race 10 was abandoned after a dog had been checked and fell on the first corner and turned and headed back towards the oncoming field. The lure Driver had kept the race alive for as long as possible in the event that the dog was captured. However this was not achieved despite several people attempting to catch her and the Driver eventually had no option but to slow the lure and once the field caught and made contact with it, there was no option but to abandon the race.

Race 1	NZ Breeders Stakes Ht 1 (Group 1) - R/Aq - 520 Heat 1	The favourite THRILLING BUTCHA was the slowest to begin and settled back. MARIAH shifted in going to the first corner and hampered OPAWA AMY which shifted out and bumped with THRILLING BUTCHA and they both became unbalanced. OPAWA AMY then ran wide into the first bend forcing THRILLING BUTCHA wide and they lost several lengths and all chance. THRILLING BUTCH did make up some ground to finish in 5th place
Race 2	NZ Breeders Stakes Ht 2 (Group 1) - R/Aq - 520 Heat 2	TOKEN KAY was slow to begin and settled back. JINJA RUBY shifted in and checked BIGTIME DASHER which went back onto BIT COIN and they stayed back for the remainder of the race.
Race 3	NZ Breeders Stakes Ht 3 (Group 1) - R/Aq - 520 Heat 3	BEHEMOTH began awkwardly losing ground and he stayed back throughout. BLUE AND CURLY, THRILLING CARTER and BUSTER BOY came together and bumped for a short distance after the start and they lost ground with THRILLING CARTER the most affected. BUSTER BOY was hampered when racing on the heels of TEN POINT ONE going into the first corner and he went back onto FASTBACK KING which was checked losing two lengths. THRILLING CARTER checked off the back of TEN POINT ONE entering the back straight, went back onto BUSTER BOY and they both lost three lengths.
Race 4	NZ Breeders Stakes Ht 4 (Group 1) - R/Aq - 520 Heat 4	TOXIC REVENGE shifted out from the start and caused a chain reaction of movement which affected REALLY CLEVER, KAISER MAX, THRILLING STYLE, SPEEDY KAZZA and AMBILIGHT and they all lost ground. REALLY CLEVER recovered quickly to be near the lead going iinto the first bend but made contact with TOXIC REVENGE and they became unbalanced and ran wide losing ground. REALLY CLEVER then made up ground to finish in 3rd place.
Race 5	NZ Breeders Stakes Ht 5 (Group 1) - R/Aq - 520 Heat 5	The favourite THRILLING ZOOM was slow to begin losing two lengths but was quickly into stride and kept up a strong run out wide to go on and win the race. WHAT I LIKE and ALL THE MILK bumped together going into the first bend and WHAT I LIKE shifted out checking TIFINO which lost two lengths.
Race 6	Crombie Lockwood (NZ) Ltd C2/3 - C2/3 - 305	HEY YOU was tightened between DEATHSTAR and NO MORE LAUGHTER when the start was made and he lost ground and settled back. MATILDA'S BABE and ANOTHER COLT bumped together when the start was made and they also settled back. MATILDA'S BABE recovered well and finiished a close 2nd. HEY YOU galloped on the back of DEATHSTAR going into the bend and they both lost three lengths.
Race 7	Palamountains Scientific Nutrition C2/3 - C2/3 - 520	HEAR HARE HERE was slow to begin losing two lengths. THATS KING shifted in going to the first corner and checked THANKS CHARLIE and a short distance further on, shifted in and checked THRILLING AVA and they both lost ground and stayed back to finish at the rear. TINA'S DILEMA shifted in going into the back straight and checked RUTH'S RAIDER which went back onto VARGA FROST and they lost three lengths but recovered to finish in 2nd and 3rd places.
Race 8	Absolutely Electrical C2/3 - C2/3 - 305	CRYSTAL WAVE shifted out from the start and OPAWA SACHA shifted in which resulted in tightening and checks to SHE'S TOP NOTCH and CALAMITY SUE and they settled back. REGINA HAKA finished in last place and was referred to the Vet for assessment and found to have a sesamoid joint injury.
Race 9	Wanganui Security C4/5 - C4/5 - 305	EXPONENTIAL LILY and KAZILLION came together and bumped soon after the start and settled back. NITRO LUIS shifted in going into the bend and crowded EXPONENTIAL LILY and CHOCDEE ALICE and all three runners lost ground, went back to the rear and stayed there to the finish of the race.
Race 10	www.wanganuigreyhounds.co.nz C4/5 - C4/5 - 520	INDIANA IZMIR shifted out going into the first bend and checked HELLO ELLO which fell. HELLO ELLO then regained her feet and ran back down the track towards the field and as a result, the Lure Driver had no option but to pull the lure up on the home turn and the race was abandoned. HELLO ELLO was referred to the vet for assessment and found to have superficial abrasions and bruising.
Race 11	The Rock 95.2FM C4 - C4 - 305	RIGS went off stride on the home turn and drifted back to finish in 2nd last place and was referred to the Vet for assessment. Rigs was found to have a long head tricep muscle injury.
Race 12	Book Your Function @ Hatrick C4/5 - C4/5 - 305	RUAPEHU shifted in from the start and checked MIGHTY EXPLOSIVE which lost ground and settled back. RUAPEHU appeared to go off stride on the bend and drifted to finish at the rear. As the Trainer had left the course when the Video was reviewed, she was contacted by mobile phone with regards to the condition of the dog and has undertaken to report any injury which may become apparent in subsequent days.
