Track: Good The meeting was conducted in wet conditions but the track was well presented and held up well throughout the day.

Health and Safety comment: Nil

Judicial report: VINNY DOON was stood down for 28 days under Rule 80.1 b for failing to pursue the lure throughout in race 3 and under Rule 81.1 is also required to complete a satisfactory trial prior to racing again.

Race 1	Awapuni Stakes C0 - C0 - 457	MEAN AS, SHINZIGZAG and NAVAJO BLUE were slow to begin losing three lengths and they never recovered the lost ground and finished in the last three places.
Race 2	Woodville Dash C0 - C0 - 375	FIVE KAY LEG galloped on the back of ADDIS MATE on the bend and they both lost ground and went back to near the rear of the field. WINSOME OSCAR was also affected in the incident and finished 7th.
Race 3	J P Print, Petone C1 - C1 - 375	WALDO BAXTER checked across the heels of runners ahead and shifted out to race wide into the bend over extra ground. VINNIE DOON was observed to turn its head out towards MISSY SLOY for several strides on the home turn and he was referred to the Vet for assessment, found to have a latissimus dorsi injury requiring a 14 day stand down but was stood down for 28 days for non pursuit under Rule 80.1 b and is required to complete a satisfactory trial under Rule 81.1. before next racing.
Race 4	Manawatu Raceway C1 - C1 - 375	AOKAUTERE and SHOWEM BABY bumped together and lost ground when the start was made. MISS COOL shifted out going into the bend making contact with TEN ELEVEN and became unbalanced. MISS COOL continued to shifted out forcing TEN ELEVEN and SHOWEM BABY very wide over extra ground. RIJEKA raced very wide over extra ground on the bend.
Race 5	Peter Sinclair Photo Finish C2 - C2 - 375	ANOTHER DRINK shifted in going into the first corner and crowded SHEIK EM UP, COOL HEIR and OTTO BAXTER and they lost momentum for a stride or two. A short distance further on, COOL HEIR galloped on the back of ANOTHER DRINK and went back and out onto COSMIC CHOICE and they both lost ground.
Race 6	Marton Stakes C1 - C1 - 457	The Starter misunderstood the one minute to load call and loaded the field early but the runners were quickly unloaded from the boxes and reloaded at the correct start time. SECONDS GOOD and ZAMADDIS LASS were sloow to begin losing three lengths and they collided on the home turn losing further ground and finished in the rear group. OPAWA LEANNE ran very wide on the bend over extra ground and finished in last place.
Race 7	www.racingdogs.co.nz C3 - C3 - 375	JUST A MATE shifted in soon after the start and crowded CRYSTAL WAVE which was unbalanced for a couple of strides. TIME TO FIND then shifted in causing a check to JUST A MATE which lost two lengths.
Race 8	Ashhurst Stakes C1 - C1 - 457	NINA BE GOOD eased off the heels of DIPSY LALA on the bend and was galloped on from behind by TAIKOREA LASS and fell heavily. FILLING THE VOID which was following was hampered in the incident and also lost ground. NINA BE GOOD was referred to the Vet for assessment and found to have pectoral muscle pain. ROCK ON SPRITE was referred to the Vet at the Trainers request and found to have a pectoral muscle injury.
Race 9	Cloverlea Dash C4 - C4 - 375	KWASANT checked over the heels of LOST IN LIGHT on the bend and shifted out abruptly causing checks to MULTICAM LAD and OPAWA WALLY and they were pushed very wide into the straight. REBEL CITY checked off the back of OPAWA WALLY going into the bend and went back onto GO FERN GO and they lost three lengths. The 2nd placed runner SHAGA BANGA BANG led for most of the race but shortened stride over the concluding stages and appeared sore and was referred to the Vet for assessment and found to have a deltoid muscle injury.
Race 10	Shannon Dash C4/5 - C4/5 - 457	All clear.
Race 11	Feilding Stakes C4 - C4 - 457	MISS ISABELLA and TIFINO were slow to begin, settled at the rear and stayed there throughout the race. NONU NONU BOOM shifted in going into the bend and crowded HELLO ELLO which lost two lengths but was observed to be making up ground at the finish.
Race 12	Foxton Dash C5 - C5 - 375	INDIVIDUAL LILY was midfield in the early and middle stages but drifted and finished in last place and he was referred to the Vet for assessment and found to have a toe injury.
Race 13	www.thedogs.co.nz C2 - C2 - 457	LOO LOO BLUE began very awkwardly losing four lengths and she then checked off the back of the back of CAWBOURNE KIM going into the bend losing further ground and all chance of a placing.
Race 14	See You Next Monday C2/3 - C2/3 - 457	The start of this race was delayed for an unacceptable length of time due to the Handler of MAGIC BOLT having difficulty boxing the dog and he was advised that the delay was unfair on the other runners and a vast improvement in loading skills is required.HEAR HARE HERE, LOCHINVAR ONYX and OPAWA TOKEN were slow to begin losing three lengths. NOT BAD shifted in going into the bend and crowded MICK MANIA which lost two lengths.
