Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: (1) An investigation was held into an allegation of misconduct in the car park prior to the commencement of the race meeting. (2) Mr J.Lane, the co-trainer of OPAWA NO EAR, a starter in race 10, advised stewards prior to the meeting start time that papers for the dog had been incorrectly sent with OPAWA LAZ, another of their dogs, who was racing at Christchurch. Acting under Rule 68.9 Stewards permitted the greyhound to start with Identification details obtained and OPAWA NO EAR correctly checked. Stewards requested that papers be presented within two working days as provided under Rule 68.9. Given the circumstances a warning was considered sufficient on this occasion.

Race 1	www.greyhoundsaspets.org.nz - C0 - 310	GOLDSTAR JUNIOR was slow to jump. From the jump EBONY STAR ran inwards from the No.3 box and checked SMASH MAGIC on her inner. Into the turn SMASH MAGIC checked outwards off the heels of GOLDSTAR ROSIE and forced WATCH OUT TRAPS and OZARK'S DAUGHTER wide on the bend.
Race 2	Green Island Barber Sprint - C1 - 310	At the jump BOWMAN and SAILORS COLLAR bumped and lost momentum. VIENNA ran sharply inwards from the No.8 box checking HAZZA'S LAD and SAILORS COLLAR. Into the turn ADMIRAL ADAM shifted off the rear of BO'S BUSINESS checking HARPER MEHL who in turn forced BOWMAN and HAZZA'S LAD wide on the bend. Into the home straight HARPER MEHL made heavy contact with SAILORS COLLAR with both dogs losing several lengths.
Race 3	Roofing Solutions Stakes - C1 - 545	From the jump MOON AND SEA shifted ground inwards and checked COVER TO COVER who lost momentum. Into the first turn CHILL OUT RALPH was tightened and lost ground.
Race 4	Brian Bagley Driver Licensing Stakes - C1/2 - 545	Into the first turn CAWBOURNE KESHA crossed from the No.7 box and made heavy contact with BUSINESS PLAN with a resulting check to CAWBOURNE FLOYD who in turn forced SHALANA STAR wide. Further round the turn CAWBOURNE KESHA shifted down and checked THRILLING BERT with CAWBOURNE FLOYD further impeded and turned sideways.
Race 5	St Kilda Veterinary Centre Sprint - C0 - 310	In the race book GOLD VIPA's last race start weight on 11th April was shown as 36.4kg, but when weighed today the dog was 29.0kg. The previous weight was incorrectly shown and the commentator and Trackside were advised. TONY'S CHOICE was slow to jump. At the jump GOLDSTAR CHUMLEE shifted ground inwards and checked MASTER AT ARMS. In the run to the turn SOUMILLON ran inwards and tightened MASTER AT ARMS and TONY'S CHOICE who both bumped and lost ground. In the run to the line SOUMILLON checked off the heels of the leader GOLD VIPA and lost momentum.
Race 6	Roofing Solutions Sprint - C1 - 310	ZULU BRO and MR NOVEMBER were both slow to jump. From the jump WORD FOR WORD ran sharply inwards from the No.7 box and checked the dogs on his inner with BUSINESS BOSS striking WINNIE WILLOW and both dogs losing ground. Into the turn WORD FOR WORD continued to run in and severely checked WINNIE WILLOW with BUSINESS BOSS further impeded and ZULU BRO checked and losing all chance. Into the straight ZULU BRO checked off the heels of CHARLES FREDERICK with both dogs losing momentum to finish at the rear.
Race 7	Speedprint Shop Sprint - C2 - 310	GYPSY HUNTER jumped awkwardly and lost momentum and then became unbalanced when HOMEBUSH HAYLEY shifted inwards. Into the turn as the field tightened GYPSY HUNTER struck the rear of HOMEBUSH HAYLEY who fell and lost all chances, but she did regain her feet and finish the race. Also during the incident PEDRO FORCE, OPAWA LEAN MEAT and SMASH AMEGO all received severe checks and lost all chances. After the race HOMEBUSH HAYLEY was referred to the veterinarian for assessment with no injury detected.
Race 8	Brocklebanks Dry Cleaners Sprint - C2/3 - 310	SAN SEBASTIAN was slow to jump. From the jump TURBO TUNDRA from the No.4 box was checked when tightened between dogs. Into the turn PRIMITIVE was checked when SAN SEBASTIAN ran inwards.
Race 9	Dunedin Cup Heats - C5q - 545 Heat 1	In the run to the first turn KNOW ATTEMPT pushed outwards from the No.1 box checking OPAWA WEBBY.
Race 10	Dunedin Cup Heats - C5q - 545 Heat 2	In the run to the first turn THRILLING MARTY ran outwards and pushed STOLEN MONEY out. At the top of the first bend BOB'S EYE checked out off the heels of CRINITI'S.
Race 11	Colin Keen Memorial Trophy - C5 - 310	DEANNE'S MAGIC was slow to jump. At the jump DILLMANSTOWN scrambled and lost momentum. Into the first turn KNOW ESCAPE shifted ground inwards and tightened LITTLE MIDNIGHT with the trailing ADMIRE also checked. On the turn ADMIRE ran outwards forcing OSCAR TUIVASA and DEANNE'S MAGIC wide.
Race 12	Racing Again Tuesday 29th April - C4 - 310	Into the turn ANOTHER COLT crossed inwards making heavy contact with NOBLE FANTASY who was checked along with the trailing DRYSDALE. In the incident ANOTHER COLT was forced outwards and struck KNOW PRIDE who was turned sideways.
