Track: Good The track was well presented but was showing the signs of overnight rain and was slushy on top but was safe for racing.
Scales: Checked and correct
Health and Safety comment: Nil

Judicial report: RUAPEHU, which was severely checked in Race 7 at Wanganui on 11.04.2014, has been reported by the Trainers to have been examined by a Veterinary Surgeon the following day and has been found to be suffering from two dislocated toes. The Stewards had closely monitored RUAPEHU following the race and did not observe any signs of soreness.

Race 1 Awapuni Stakes C0 - C0 - 457 ICAHN shifted out going to the first turn and raced very wide for the remainder of the race and finished in last place. MORE SALT shifted in going to the first turn and hampered BEHEMOTH for a short distance and BEHEMOTH lost three lengths. TROJAN TROY shifted out going into the bend and MORE SALT checked over his heels losing two lengths. MORE SALT and WHERE'S SHIRAZ bumped entering the straight and were unbalanced briefly but WHERE'S SHIRAZ recovered quickly to finish well for 2nd place.
Race 2 Woodville Dash C1 - C1 - 375 CAESAR WIN and EMPTY BANK were slow to begin losing three lengths. BELLE CADEAU was checked losing three lengths going to the first corner and soon after, SOME GENES was checked and fell and MISSY SLOY and BELLE CADEAU were hampered and lost ground. Approaching the home straight, EMPTY TANK checked off the heels of GOMAN NINNIE and shifted in onto CAESAR WIN and they jostled for a short distance and both lost ground. CAESAR WIN made contact with the rail and was referred to the Vet as a precaution and found to have abrasions to the left hind leg but no stand down was required. SOME GENES was also referred to the Vet for assessment and found to have a shoulder injury.
Race 3 J P Print, Petone C1 - C1 - 375 OPAWA JAY was slow to begin losing two lengths but made up ground well for 3rd place. KOTUMBA shifted out going into the bend and checked WHITE LEGS which lost two lengths. WHITE LEGS faltered going into the bend when racing at the rear and she lost three lengths and tailed the field from there to the finish.
Race 4 Manawatu Raceway C2 - C2 - 375 TEN ELEVEN shifted out going into the bend and forced COOL HEIR and COME ON MICKEY to race wide covering extra ground and all three finished in the rear group.
Race 5 Peter Sinclair Photo Finish C2/3 - C2/3 - 375 BIGTIME CHIP and UNO GREEN bumped together soon after the start and UNO GREEN lost three lengths. DARLEK KHAN shifted out going into the bend and checked UNO GREEN which faltered and drifted out to finish a long last and was referred to the Vet for assessment and found to have tricep and pectoral muscle pain.
Race 6 Marton Dash C4 - C4 - 375 REBEL KAHN and EMMA MARIE were slow to begin and settled back where they stay throughout the race. DOLLY PEG was bumped and checked going into the bend and lost three lengths.
Race 7 www.racingdogs.co.nz C3 Final - C3f - 375 RUN JUNIOR RUN was crowded going into the bend when outside runners shifted in and he lost several lengths, went back to last and finished in that position.
Race 8 Ashhurst Stakes C4/5 - C4/5 - 457 GRADUATION shifted in going to the first corner and hampered OSTAPCHUK and OPAWA SALLY for a short distance. OPAWA WALLY shifted in going into the bend and checked MAMMY BROWN which lost three lengths. MAMMY BROWN raced in restricted room adjacent to the rail rounding the bend and was shuffled back to the rear and never recovered.
Race 9 Cloverlea Dash C4/5 - C4/5 - 375 CHEMICALLY FREE and WISE CRACK LAD shifted out on the bend to race wide covering extra ground and they finished in the last two places. EVER SO HOPEFUL was also forced over extra ground on the bend.
Race 10 Shannon Dash C4/5 - C4/5 - 375 RED MOOVA HOOVA shifted in going into the bend and made contact with CALL ME RALPH and both dogs were hampered losing momentum and becoming briefly unbalanced. ERUZA shifted in approaching the home turn and checked UNO ALLEGRO which lost three lengths and went back onto ISABELLE DOMAIN which also lost ground.
Race 11 Feilding Stakes C1 - C1 - 457 SECONDS GOOD was the slowest away but recovered quickly to make a big run out wide and won the race. DIPSY LALA shifted in abruptly going to the first corner and checked RUTH'S RAIDER which went back onto TIME FOR WHAT and they lost three lengths.
Race 12 Foxton Stakes C2/3 - C2/3 - 457 THAT'S KING, ALPINADOR and KAY ROAD were slow to begin and settled back. TINA'S DILEMA checked off the back of VARGA FROST and shifted out into the line of THAT'S KING which in turn shifted out causing checks to ALPINADOR and KAY ROAD. The incident resulted in all four losing ground and they finished in the last four places.
