Track: Good Stewards requested the Club investigate the mechanical fault to the 645 metre boxes which necessitated Race 6 on tonight's programme to be effected manually.

Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: JINJARANGO (J & D Fahey) which had qualified for tonight's Racing Series Distance Final was withdrawn prior to the box draw as a result of dehydration following it's heat at the Christchurch GRC's meeting on 13 March 2014. A Veterinary Certificate has subsequently been provided.
TWISTER AL (J McMillan) which was stood down under Rule 82.1 on the 14 March 2014 was represented tonight to Vet D Matheson and found to be free of any injury. As a consequence of this the stand down period imposed on this dog was rescinded under Rule 82.5.

Race 1	Carol's T.A.B. Sprint - C3 - 295	NOBLE FANTASY (5) jumped awkwardly before bumping out onto WAIMAK DAVE (6). ANOTHER JEWEL (8) shifted inwards shortly after the start placing TURBO TUNDRA (7) in restricted room. ANOTHER JEWEL continued to shift inwards racing into the bend resulting in NOBLE FANTASY have to check off its heels.
Race 2	Christchurch Casino Dash - C4 - 295	Racing into the bend TRANS TASMAN (6) shifted inwards obliging KNOW FAVOURS (9) to check off its heels. As a result of this KNOW FAVOURS then had to check off the heels of ISABELLE DOMAIN (7) effectively losing it's chance in the event. RED CARPET (3) ran outwards slightly rounding the bend forcing ISABELLE DOMAIN and EXPLODABLE (8) to race marginally wider on the track.
Race 3	Thursday Place Pick Sprint - C5 - 295	LIFE'S A LAUGH (1) and ZEBIDIAH (5) were slow to jump. Shortly after the start FLY CANARY FLY (6) shifted abruptly inwards onto SOPHIE'S TERRA (3). Racing into the bend FLY CANARY FLY was placed in restricted room between HOMEBUSH MAYHEM (9) and CAWBOURNE JELLY (2) before being terminally checked by SOPHIE'S TERRA which was shifting inwards. This caused an inconvenience to PICK THE TIP (4) and ZEBIDIAH.
Race 4	Kolorful Kanvas Stakes - C3 - 520	The start of this event was delayed due to NOM DE PLUME (6) requiring strapping at the boxes. KNOW PERIL (3) raced wide into the first bend forcing TAKE A TRICK (7) outwards.
Race 5	C.T.V. Sprint - C5 - 295	WANDY GRANT (2) was slow to jump. Negotiating the first bend KNOW ESCAPE (8) was obliged to check off the heels of SWIP AND TEAR (1).
Race 6	I Pave Concrete Distance Feature - C1d - 645	The start of this race was effected manually due to a mechanical fault. OPAWA SUMMER (5) faltered racing into the first bend and pulled out of the event with the bitch being referred to the Vet for assessment.
Race 7	Shirley Vet Clinic Stakes - C4 - 520	Racing into the first bend OPAWA STYLE (4) was placed in restricted room to the inside of WHAT I LIKE (2) when this runner shifted outwards marginally. WHAT I LIKE continued to shift outwards and forced PUNCH ON JAIME (5) outwards onto OPAWA MEZ (8) which in turn forced PUNCH ON JAIME along with BOTANY KEVIN (6) and GAME GIRL (7) to race wide on the track. OPAWA MEZ was referred to the Vet after collapsing at the lure.
Race 8	Robbie's Bar & Bistro Stakes - C5 - 520	KNOW ATTEMPT (5) was slow to jump. Racing into the first bend CAWBOURNE PHILIP (2) was obliged to check off the heels of RAW ENERGY (8).
Race 9	Super Pets N.Z. Racing Series Sprint Final - NZRSf - 295	Shortly after the start GO HOUSIE (3) had to check off the heels of HOMEBUSH CHOPPER (5). Racing into the first bend GO HOUSIE was then forced off the heels of MR WHIPPY (8) which caused an inconvenience to KNOW CHARITY (2).
Race 10	Flair N.Z. Racing Series Distance Final - NZRSdf - 732	THRILLING LOGIC (2) and THRILLING SOUND (3) came together shortly after the jump.
Race 11	racingdogs.co.nz Dash - C5 - 295	Entering the bend PEARL'S BOY (3) was obliged to check off CAWBOURNE DASHER (5) which was shifting inwards.
Race 12	Speight's Sprint - C4 - 295	Racing into the bend ADROIT (4) improved to the inside of STAR DREAMER (1) forcing this bitch outwards onto the heels of BATIATUS (5). As a result of this CAWBOURNE TOMCAT (8) was obliged to race wider on the track. ADROIT then shifted outwards entering the home straight briefly placing JUMPIN' JULIA (6) in restricted room which was racing to the inside of CAWBOURNE TOMCAT.
