Race 1	ABSOLUTELY ELECTRICAL C2 - C2 - 520	BIGTIME JET shifted ground inwards abruptly over the early stages forcing PAR onto the hindquarters of CAESAR CHANCE and VARGA FROST, both runners becoming briefly unbalanced as a result. SPEEDY FEET was crowded and lost ground entering the back straight between SYDENHAM OPAL and VARGA FROST which shifted outwards. Favourite ZIPPING TAY which jumped only fairly, sped through and led for a majority of the race however was run down over the latter stages finishing second at the line.
Race 2	MORRIE GIBBONS SIGNS C2 - C2 - 305	OPAWA GIFT began awkwardly and lost ground(5L). KAZILLION shifted inwards from the jump crowding HOMEBUSH BUFFY in onto BIGTIME CHIP. Racing into the bend, SHELDON BAXTER was tightened becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of COSMIC CHOICE which shifted out. Also hampered was the trailing HOMEBUSH BUFFY. COSMIC CHOICE and KIRIBATI GIRL came together and bumped in the early stages of the home straight.
Race 3	J P PRINT(PETONE) C2 FINAL - C2f - 305	HILTON FRIDAY shifted inward abruptly from jump causing the field to race in tight quarters for a short distance. COME ON MICKEY was briefly checked as a result. COME ON MICKEY shifted out off the heels of JAGER entering the home straight forcing GO WITH IT wider on the track. JAGER collided with the hindquarters of HOMEBUSH ALEX early in the home straight resulting in HOMEBUSH ALEX losing its footing briefly.
Race 4	PALAMOUNTAINS NUTRITION C3 - C3 - 305	THRILLING MIGHT weighed in 1.6 kilograms heavier than it's previous start on the 31st January 2014. Co-trainer J Clarke was unable to offer an reason for the increase and advised that it was not intentional. WONG WAY SUSIE was checked approaching the first bend when racing in restricted room to the inside of ANOTHER PIZZA. WONG WAY SUSIE lost ground and was further hampered when GENIA HAKA which was trailing improved up onto the heels of WONG WAY SUSIE. Both runners lost considerable ground and effectively all chance in the event. WONG WAY SUSIE was referred to the Veterinarian and found to have mild sand-burn to both hind feet.
Race 5	HARRISONS HIRE MASTER C3 - C3 - 305	There was severe tightening between the field over the early stages with HOMEBUSH COCO and AGENT JORGE receiving the majority. HOMEBUSH COCO and AGENT JORGE were then crowded rounding the bend between HOMEBUSH LIGNITE and FIRE BOY BAXTER which shifted in. MISS MCFLY and DOLLY PEG bumped over the early stages of the home straight.
Race 6	WWW.RACINGDOGS.CO.NZ C3 - C3 - 520	ALPINADOR was slow to begin. THAT'S KING, GAY THORLEY, BACKYARD BULLY and SPACE RACE were all crowded approaching the first bend when WALLACE LAD shifted inwards toward to running rail. ALPINADOR shifted out rounding the first bend forcing BACKYARD BULLY into the line of SPACE RACE with these two runners bumping heavily and losing ground.
Race 7	WANGANUI SECURITY C4 - C4 - 305	DARLEK KHAN made the bend awkwardly checking BEV'S VIEWPOINT out onto UNO ALLEGRO which was further hampered when OPAWA WALLY shifted in. BEV'S VIEWPOINT and UNO ALLEGRO lost considerable ground effectively all chance in the event. DARLEK KHAN shifted out off the heels of WATERBUG rounding the bend resulting in OPAWA WALLY which was racing to the outside, clipping DARLEK KHAN's heel and falling. OPAWA WALLY regained it's footing and finished at the lure. OPAWA WALLY was referred to the Veterinarian and found to have generalised muscle bruising.
Race 8	GARY ROSS DECORATOR C5 - C5 - 305	TEPIRITA RITA was crowded from the jump between POPSOME TAGS which shifted out and NGAURUHOE which shifted in abruptly. Approaching the bend, NITRO LUIS bumped with AVERT resulting in this dog losing ground. AVERT was then further hampered when TEPIRITA RITA which was trailing improved up onto the heels of AVERT. AVERT was referred to the Veterinarian and was cleared of any injury.
Race 9	THE ROCK 95.2FM C5 - C5 - 305	COSMIC FURY and RUN LACEY RUN were crowded for some distance along the back straight when MIGHTY EXPLOSIVE shifted inwards. RUN LACEY RUN which was racing adjacent to the rail was eventually checked approaching the first bend after MIGHTY EXPLOSIVE lost its footing in-behind and came back onto RUN LACEY RUN. MIGHTY EXPLOSIVE appeared to falter rounding the bend, finishing at the rear of the field. MIGHTY EXPLOSIVE was referred to the Veterinarian and was cleared of any injury. RUN LACEY RUN which closed off favourite was referred to the Veterinarian as a precaution and was cleared of any injury.
Race 10	KEENAN CONCRETE C4/5 - C4/5 - 520	TIFINO which began fairly was then obliged to make its run wide rounding the first bend. TIFINO was then forced to race even wider after JOHNNY RITZA shifted outward.
Race 11	WANGANUI CHRONICLE C4 - C4 - 305	FLYING BLACK shifted inward abruptly from the jump forcing QUEEN COBRA down the track toward the rail.
Race 12	CROMBIE LOCKWOOD (NZ) LTD C4 - C4 - 305	Over the early stages, there was severe tightening between the field resulting in SLANGEVAR which was situated in the middle, being checked and losing considerable ground. SLANGEVAR came back onto HOMEBUSH HELL'S which lost ground after having to take evasive action. SLANGEVAR was referred to the Veterinarian and found to be lame in the left hind leg.
