Judicial report: ANOTHER SMILE completed a box trial as per Rule 72.13. Trainer J McInerney was fined $50.00 for a breach of Rule 68.8 when the papers of BOB'S EYE were not presented. TURBO TUNDRA (M Grant) was represented to the veterinary surgeon and found to be free of injury. Therefore under Rule 82.5 the stand down imposed on 20 February is rescinded.

KIN NIKKI (5) ran outwards in the back straight checking TEPIRITA CHARGER (9) with both runners losing ground. Into the bend MOTLEY MAN (7) was checked by OPAWA RUFUS (8) from its outside and from behind by BLUE GALE RISE with MOTLEY MAN and BLUE GALE RISE both losing ground. |
Race 3 | Thursday Place Pick Stakes - C3 - 520 | JIBBAJABBA JEWEL (2), TAKE A TRICK (3) and GEE CEE BEE (4) were the last trio to jump. NO UNDIES SUNDY (5) was checked in the run to the first bend as HOMEBUSH VIOLET (1) angled outwards. JIBBAJABBA JEWEL and GEE CEE BEE came together into the first bend when racing towards the rear with JIBBAJABBA JEWEL dropping to a clear last. Into the back straight PUNCH ON JAIME (7) stumbled for a stride and lost ground. |
Race 4 | Kolorful Kanvas Sprint - C5 - 295 | ZEBIDIAH (6) and BATIATUS (8) were the last pair on jumping. ZEBIDIAH checked outwards off runners on the home turn when improving. |
Race 5 | I Pave Concrete Dash - C3 - 295 | The track was upgraded to Good prior to this event. JED NORTON (5) was last to jump. EMBEE DEE (4) and SHEZA GAMBLE (7) came together into the bend and lost ground. NOBLE FANTASY (1) checked outwards off the back of GORILLA ON DRUMS (3) on the home turn losing a length. |
Race 6 | The Turf Bar Dash - C5 - 295 | WANDY GRANT (6) was last from the traps with OPAWA STRETCH (5) also settling well back. STOLEN MONEY (1) and STING ME (2) were both tightened approaching the bend losing ground. STING ME and STOLEN MONEY both checked outwards off runners on the home turn losing ground. |
Race 7 | Carol's T.A.B. Sprint - C4 - 295 | WILL EXCITE (1) was last to jump. KNOW CHARITY (2) was checked into the bend losing a length. WILL EXCITE received a check soon after dropping to a clear last. EXCUSE PLEASE (4) angled outwards on the bend checking WANDY CHICK (5) and TEAM DREAM (6) who both lost ground. TEAM DREAM ran inwards on the home turn checking WANDY CHICK who dropped out. |
Race 8 | Christchurch Casino Distance Feature - C2d - 645 | CHILL OUT RALPH (2) and OPAWA TANIA (3) were the last pair on jumping. On the second bend OPAWA TANIA and OPAWA NO EAR (4) collided heavily with OPAWA NO EAR losing momentum. OPAWA NO EAR dropped out over the concluding stages with a vet assessment finding cramp in his gracilis muscle although no stand down was considered necessary. |
Race 9 | Garden City Chem-Dry Sprint - C5 - 295 | LIFE'S A LAUGH (1) was last to jump. Severe tightening into the bend caused checks to HOMEBUSH MAYHEM (6), GO HOUSIE (5) CAWBOURNE JELLY (4), WANDY JEWEL (3) and KNOW PRIDE (2) with these dogs all losing their winning chances at this stage. DILLMANSTOWN (7) ran a touch wide on the home turn losing a length. |
Race 10 | Auckland Cup & Railway Tonight Stakes - C5 - 520 | OPAWA WEBBY (2) was a shade slow to jump. NOT A KNOW (9) was checked in the early stages. Into the first bend BRIGHTON BULLET (8) ran inwards and was dragged down by NOT A KNOW and lost ground. DEANNE'S FANTASY (7) and SPEEDY KAZZA (6) were both tightened in this incident and dropped to the rear. On that bend HARLEM HAKA (1) angled outwards checking SPEEDY KAZZA who lost ground. |
Race 11 | Shirley Vet Clinic Dash - C5 - 295 | KNOW LIES (7) was last to jump. RUSTY KNIFE (5) was tightened and ran outwards on the bend after KERAMUS (6) ran inwards with WANDY BOILER (8) being forced very wide and losing her chance. |
Race 12 | Speight's Dash - C4 - 295 | RED CARPET (3), CAWBOURNE TOMCAT (6) and SMASH RUMOUR (8) were the last trio on settling. BLONDE TORI (5) ran outwards and came together with BUTTERBEAN (7) into the bend with both runners losing ground and RED CARPET receiving a check in behind. On the turn ISABELLE DOMAIN (4) raced in tight quarters and ran outwards pushing CAWBOURNE TOMCAT wider on the track. |
