Judicial report: SMASH MAGIC (M Grant) completed a box trial as required by Rule 72.13. Handler J Shaw was fined $50.00 after admitting a breach of Rule 71.2 in that he was late to retrieve CAWBOURNE CRAZY for Race 4. Handler L Grant was questioned in regards to her being slightly late for the split kennelling. She stated that the time shown on the website was incorrect and that this was the time that she based her kennelling times on. Stewards confirmed that this incorrect information had been shown and accordingly no further action was deemed necessary. Trainer J Dunn was reminded of his obligations in regards to the use of cellphones after a race. Trainer C Weir admitted a breach of Rule 88.1.o. after sending an email to Mr G Kerr of GRNZ that contained obscene language. After hearing submissions on penalty the JCA imposed a fine of $200.00.

Race 1	Super Pets Sprint - C3 - 295	BOTANY PETE (3) and JOHN DORY (4) were the last pair on jumping. SMASH AMEGO (1) angled outwards into the bend checking NOBLE FANTASY (2) who lost ground.
Race 2	Christchurch Casino Sprint - C4 - 295	WILL EXCITE (2) and KNOW ESCAPE (4) as usual dropped to the rear in the early stages. MILDRED LILLIAN (3) was tightened into the bend as CAWBOURNE CHIEF (5) angled inwards. MILDRED LILLIAN ran outwards on the bend pushing KNOW ESCAPE wider on the track.
Race 3	Thursday Place Pick Dash - C3 - 295	EMBEE DEE (8) was a clear last on jumping with BAD WEEK (1) also settling well back. FLEUR DU LIYS (7) ran inwards in the early stages checking CAWBOURNE CRAZY (5) and MY FOOLISH HEART (4) who lost ground. FLEUR DU LIYS then contacted the hind quarters of MEMPHIS HOTCAKES (2) who was turned sideways for a stride. Into the bend MY FOOLISH HEART and STARBURST BENNY (5) were both checked and lost ground. The Trainer of MEMPHIS HOTCAKES advised that after today's win she would be retired from racing. FLEUR DU LIYS was referred to the vet for assessment.
Race 4	Kolorful Kanvas Stakes - C3 - 520	FEAR GO (6) and GEE CEE BEE (8) were the last pair on jumping. CELESTRIAL MAGIC (1) and LAUDABLE (2) came together and then were both tightened into the first bend dropping to the rear. CELESTRIAL MAGIC received another check on that bend losing more ground.
Race 5	Carol's T.A.B. Sprint - C5 - 295	TAKE NO PRISONER (2) was a shade slow on jumping. CAWBOURNE JELLY (5) was badly tightened in the early stages losing ground. ARKADEN (7) ran inwards checking TRANS TASMAN (4) in the run to the bend. TAKE NO PRISONER was tightened into the bend and dropped to the rear. CAWBOURNE JELLY ran wide on the home turn when improving.
Race 6	Shirley Vet Clinic Stakes - C3/4 - 520	OPAWA BRO (1), BOTANY KEVIN (3) and OPAWA JED (7) were the last trio on settling. BOTANY KEVIN improved to the inside of and made contact with HUSTLER AMBITION (2) on the first bend which pushed RAMBUNCTIOUS (8) wider on the track. JOYVILLE (4) was badly tightened on the home turn when commencing to weaken dropping out to a clear last at the line. Stewards requested that this bitch be assessed by the vet with this revealing no abnormalities. M Flipp the Trainer of the winner POPSTAR ROCKET (5) was questioned in regards to the improved performance of this bitch. She replied that a downgrade back to Class 4 was the main factor and added that she is a far better dog when allowed her own rules in front.
Race 7	The Miller Bar & Cafe Dash - C5 - 295	SWIP AND TEAR (3) dropped to the rear in the initial stages. KERAMUS (5) shifted up the track in the back straight pushing BLONDE TORI (8) wider. WANDY BOILER (2) and STARBURST JOSH (4) ran outwards into the bend with BLONDE TORI again being shunted wider on the track.
Race 8	I Pave Concrete Dash - C4 - 295	OPAWA RUFUS (2) was checked on the bend when improving. KNOW TRUST (10) ran outwards on the home turn pushing GEORGIE WONG (7) wider on the track.
Race 9	christchurchgreyhounds.co.nz Dash - C5 - 295	WANDY LUCK (3) ran inwards in the early stages tightening IONA HAKA (2) and LIFE'S A LAUGH (1). LIFE'S A LAUGH angled outwards into the bend with all runners except the pacemaking FLY CANARY FLY (9) being checked to various extents. The worst affected were RUSTY KNIFE (5), KNOW PRIDE (7), KNOW JEALOUSY (6) and WANDY LUCK with the favourite DAMARJO (8) also losing some momentum.
Race 10	Flair Stakes - C4/5 - 520	OPAWA SWEDE (7) was last to jump. NOT A KNOW (1) shifted outwards marginally in the early stages brushing with BIGTIME KELINA (9) who lost ground. JINJA POWER (6) was pushed wide by NOT A KNOW into the first bend. RAW ENERGY (8) was checked at the end of the back straight when racing to the inside of JINJA POWER. NOT A KNOW checked outwards off the back of OPAWA SWEDE on the home turn losing momentum. RAW ENERGY was referred to the vet for assessment after looking uncomfortable throughout the event and found to have wrist and hock soreness.
Race 11	Coalgate Tavern Dash - C5 - 295	DRYSDALE (5) and KNOW LIES (8) were the last pair on jumping. SOPHIE'S TERRA (1) got on heels into the bend and lost a length. PICK THE TIP (4) was checked on the bend and lost ground. SPEEDY KAZZA (7) raced wide throughout.
Race 12	Speight's Sprint - C4 - 295	SPRINKLES (2) was last to jump. MER DE NOMS (5) was checked into the bend and lost ground with CAMPAIGNER (8) being forced wide. SPRINKLES and ATE PIZZA (6) came together on the home turn when well back.
