| Race 2 | Novice Heats - NZRSq - 457 Heat 2 | OPAWA LAUREN (7) dropped to the rear in the early stages as NO MORE BEERSIES (8) crossed from her outside. GIRL MAGIC (3) received a check at the end of the back straight when racing between GOLDSTAR JEANIE (9) and MONACO DENVER (1). MONACO DENVER then checked outwards off the back of GOLDSTAR JEANIE and lost a length. |
| Race 3 | Novice Heats - NZRSq - 457 Heat 3 | WINNE WILLOW (4), CULVIE MAGIC (6), OPAWA PAUL (7) and GYPSY HUNTER (8) were the last quartet on jumping. TEPIRITA SNOOP (5) angled inwards in the back straight tightening WINNE WILLOW and BLUSHING BELLE (3). WINNE WILLOW then checked outwards off the back of TEPIRITA SNOOP into the bend and pushed BLUSHING BELLE very wide with this bitch losing her chance. BUSINESS BOSS (1) was found to have torn a dew claw when inspected by the vet. |
| Race 4 | Novice Heats - NZRSq - 457 Heat 4 | HOMEBUSH ZELDA (9) ran inwards in the initial stages tightening MAGIC EMILY (7) and TODDY'S A FLYER (6) with CALM SPIRIT (5) also losing ground. Into the bend AMBILIGHT (2) angled outwards and checked SCOTSOME POWER (3) for a stride. |
| Race 5 | ADDED ENERGY STAKES - C2 - 390 | SANDI CLAWS (6) and AVERSION (8) were the last pair on jumping. BOTANY PETE (5) angled outwards checking SANDI CLAWS in the early stages. LACHIE'S LAD (2) appeared to strike the rail and stumble for a stride in the run home losing ground. This dog was referred to the vet for assessment. |
| Race 6 | Novice Heats - NZRSq - 457 Heat 5 | DOLEUZE (6) ran inwards into the bend badly tightening ZULU BRO (3) who lost ground and ran outwards pushing OPAWA ANNE (7) wider on the track. OPAWA ROMEO (1) was also tightened at this stage and KAREN'S MAGIC (4) was badly hampered dropping to the rear. |
| Race 7 | Novice Heats - NZRSq - 457 Heat 6 | MOON AND SEA (5) was last to jump. Into the bend MAKER'S LABEL (1) shifted up the track and checked ANOTHER COVER (2) who ran outwards pushing OPAWA SHAIDEN (8) over extra ground. OPAWA LAZ (6) was also inconvenienced in this incident and lost ground. |
| Race 8 | BRENDAN BURKE @ FIRST NATIONAL - C3 - 390 | ANOTHER JEWEL (8) was a clear last on jumping. EMBEE DEE (6) crossed quickly to the rail tightening CAWBOURNE CRAZY (3) and SOSAN (10). EMBEE DEE was then checked into the bend by CAWBOURNE CRAZY who was improving to her inside. HUSTLER AMBITION (9) and ANOTHER JEWEL were both shunted wide in this incident. |
| Race 9 | Novice Heats - NZRSq - 457 Heat 7 | OPAWA CASSIDY (8) was last to jump. ZEE BRUGGE (1) and OPAWA CASSIDY came together into the bend when racing at the rear. OPAWA SUMMER (5) shifted outwards soon after pushing OPAWA TANIA (7) wider on the track. OPAWA CASSIDY was badly checked on the home turn losing momentum. |
| Race 10 | Novice Heats - NZRSq - 457 Heat 8 | ELLIE WAVES (2) and SEA SPRAY BORIS (5) were last to leave the traps. TOTALLY TOASTED (4) ran inwards checking ELLIE WAVES in the early stages. RUNWAY TAXI (6) was tightened and dropped to a clear last in the early stages before running on late to finish in the pack. KAINO (7) took a spectacular fall at the lure but appeared to be free of injury when returning to the kennel block. |
| Race 11 | CENTRAL WATER CARRIERS - C1/2 - 457 | COVER TO COVER (5) was hard to box in this event and then slow to jump along with OPAWA CUDDLES (9). ROB'S MATE (6) ran outwards in the back straight pushing MEGA GIRL (7) and SAN SEBASTIAN (8) wide for a stride. ROCKY BAXTER (3) was tightened to the rear on the first bend. SAN SEBASTIAN was checked by JIBBAJABBA JEWEL in the shadows of the post as that dog ran past and ran inwards. COVER TO COVER will be boxed first in his immediate engagements. |
