Track: Good The start of race 8 was delayed and the meeting put back one race for the remainder of the program after trainers voiced their concerns with the amount of holes forming on the track and subsequently, remedial work was carried to rectify the issue.

Health and Safety comment: Nil

Judicial report: WAY TOO CRUDE which had been stood down for 28 days with an injury after racing at Waikato on 23.01.14, was presented for examination by the Vet under Rule 82.5 and 82.6 and the original stand down was rescinded and WAY TOO CRUDE is now cleared to race.

Race 1	Absolutely Electrical C2 - C2 - 305	AZURE DREAMS shifted in from the start and MISSY SLOY shifted out and this resulted in tightening and checks to EXCESSIVE SPEED, MASONYX and GO WITH ITand they lost ground and settled back. A short distance further on MISSY SLOY, MASONYX and EXCESSIVE SPEED came together and jostled for several strides losing several lengths and they stayed back to finish at the rear.
Race 2	Morrie Gibbons Signs C2 - C2 - 305	GENIA HAKA was the slowest to begin. GENIA HAKA and THRILLING CAIRO were tightened going into the first corner when runners drawn wider on the track shifted in and they lost four lengths and never recovered the lost ground. A short distance further on NO NO ROMEO shifted out and hampered ACTING UP, RUAPEHU and TRICKY HARRY and all four lost ground.
Race 3	J P Print, Petone C2/3 - C2/3 - 520	ANOTHER COURSE was slow to begin losing two lengths. BIGTIME JET shifted in from the start and bumped with JOHNNY RITZA and they lost a length and settled back. CAWBOURNE BREE and BIGTIME JET jostled together for some distance rounding the first bend and lost momentum. CAWBOURNE BREE checked off the heels of JOHNNY RITZA entering the back straight and she went back to last and stayed there to finish in that position.
Race 4	Palamountains Scientific Nutrition C3 - C3 - 305	OPAWA WALLY checked over the heels of FLYING TRANCE going into the bend and lost two lengths.
Race 5	Harrison Hire Master C3 - C3 - 305	DOLLY PEG was slow to begin losing two lengths and she was checked again going into the bend when attempting a gap inside WORKING WORKING. GO FERN GO checked off the heels of COLD TURKEY on the bend and they both lost two lengths. UNO GREEN shifted out going to the first corner and checked HOMEBUSH COCO which lost four lengths and all chance.
Race 6	Wanganui Security C4 - C4 - 305	NGAURUHOE and HEY YOU collided going into the bend and both lost ground with NGAURUHOE the most affected and he lost three lengths, went out and forced ALL THE MILK wide into the bend. A short distance further on, ALL THE MILK shifted in and NGAURUHOE had to check to avoid heels and he stayed back to finish last. NGAURUHOE did not appear to be walking correctly following the race, was referred to the Vet for assessment and cleared of any injury.
Race 7	Keenan Concrete C4/5 - C4/5 - 520	GRADUATION shifted in from the start and hampered BRIGHTON BULLET which lost a length. EL JETTA, INDIANA IZMIR and SUPERIOR IZMIR jostled together for a short distance after the start and lost monmentum. EL JETTA checked over the heels of GRADUATION going into the first bend and shifted out onto SUPERIOR IZMIR and they both lost several lengths and stayed back at the rear for the remainder of the race.
Race 8	NZRS Distance Final - NZRSdf - 755	The start of this race was delayed and the programme was put back a race for the remainder of the meeting due to several trainers voicing their concerns with the track, in particular the number of paw marks forming into holes rounding the bends. THRILLING LOGIC angled inwards rounding the first bend crowding NECTER which lost ground and came back onto THRILLING OLIVE which lost ground and CHILL OUT RALPH which was forced over extra ground.
Race 9	The Rock 95.2FM C4 - C4 - 305	HOMEBUSH LIMBO and VICKI'S QUEST were crowded for several strides rounding the bend when STIFF DRINK angled inwards. VICKI'S QUEST lost ground as a result. BELKARA raced in tight quarters over the final stages when between EMMA MARIE and STIFF DRINK.
Race 10	NZRS Advanced Racing Series Final - NZRSf - 520	OPAWA CASPER began awkwardly. RENE RANGER after showing good early speed and crossing over from box 8, was bumped by BLITZING MAYHEM rounding the first bend and as a result went off stride and lost ground. NOT A KNOW and OPAWA WEBBY bumped rounding the first bend.
Race 11	Wanganui Chronicle C5 - C5 - 305	RUN LACEY RUN was crowded shortly after the start and shifted in hampering ERUZA which lost it's footing briefly and lost ground. UNO ALLEGRO raced wide throughout. AVERT was crowded and lost ground rounding the bend when SLANGEVAR shifted in when making the bend.
Race 12	Crombie Lockwood (NZ) Ltd C5 - C5 - 305	WINNING KNOCKA shifted in going into the bend crowding DARLEK KHAN which was forced into the running line of SWEET LIES which clipped a heel and fell. SWEET LIES took no further part in the race and was referred to the Vet for assessment, found to have a laceration to a front foot which required suturing. One of the favourites FIERY DANCER was handy to the lead on the bend but was checked from behind by OPAWA SISTER and lost three lengths and finished in 5th place. She was also referred to the Vet for assessment and cleared of injury.
